Wright Gear and Costume

The store attendant let out a small laugh, and it brought Max back to reality.

“Ah, I’m sorry I spaced out a bit there. I never imagined for this place to be so big.”

“This is the workshop of our wright gear and costume shop. What you saw earlier is only the storefront where we display our ready sell costume. As for the one in here, it was all costume made and special.”

“I saw someone brought stones, minerals and even animal bones, are they used to make the costume?”

“Yes, since what we want to make are costumes with special properties, using fabric alone isn’t enough. We’re adding minerals and special ingredients to make our product stronger. Just like your costume, we’re adding a thunder armadillo’s shell on it. That is why it is able to resist paralysis, and abnormal status for a bit since the thunder armadillo itself is known for their natural resistance properties.”

The further they walked into the workshop, the more amazed Max is. All kind of fabulous looking costumes is being made by hand by the tailors in the workshop with the help of machines. This is the perfect example of where machine and human work hand in hand for the greater good of humanity.

Arriving at one of the clothes hangers, the store attendant pick up Max’s costume and hand it over to him.

“Here’s your costume. We weren’t able to make adjustment previously as it was sent as a gift, but if you want, you can try out the costume here and tell us where it doesn’t fit so we can adjust it for you.”

“I’ll try it out then.”

“The changing room is over there.”

The store attendant pointed her fingers, and Max followed the direction as he changed into his costume.

Just like when he first tried on the costume, the costume fits like a glove, and there’s nothing that should be adjusted from it. The blue-green costume still looked very good as the pattern doesn’t change much.

Max walked out of the changing room, and the store attendant looked at him differently. Right now, he is exuding an aura that is special to the heroes. Pride, bravery, justice, and, more importantly, unyielding aura.

“How’s the costume? Is there any part that is not comfortable?”

“No, I like it very much. This feels just like before, even though I have only worn it for two days. Haha.”

“Oh, right. Would you like to engrave your hero’s name into the costume or put a special insignia?”

Kalina didn’t order this kind of thing previously since she wanted Max to be the one who decides his identity. She doesn’t even know what’s the name that Max is going to use as a hero when she ordered the costume.

“Please. I would like you to engrave an A inside a circle and H that overlapped with the A on the chest area.”

The store attendant then picks up a paper and draw a draft which Max satisfied with.

“Please wait. This process will take around fifteen minutes.”

While waiting for the engraving process to be finished, Max changed to his casual clothes and looked around the workshop. In there, he sees a lot of people working wholeheartedly in making the ordered costume. It wasn’t a lie when the store attendant said that the wright gear and costume shop are strictest with their quality assurance.

Whenever a process is finished, they double-check it to ensure that nothing is wrong and even triple-check it for some of the more critical parts. By visiting this place, Max realized that behind a hero, aside from the supports on the backline and hidden from the public’s eye. There are still people contributing to the heroes’ world.

These costume makers are one of them. Max didn’t know about their existence previously and saw how much sweat and love they poured in to finish the product. Thanks to these people, a hero won’t have to be afraid of having an interview after a battle because their costume is still intact. Imagine if a heroes’ costume is torn and have to cover their privates and become a joke when doing an interview.

Not to mention that these costumes have unique properties that he could imagine helped to enhance the hero. His own costume is more on the cheap side with only defensive properties, but as he walked around the workshop, he saw costumes that could even launch their own attack that could be used as a trump card by a hero in a pinch. Their power isn’t a joke either, as he saw a metal block is cut into pieces by a pair of gloves that could unleash a water-cutting jet attack.

He also saw some unique gears like a grappling hook that is very useful for manoeuvrability for heroes that couldn’t jump high or fly like Max. a pen with blinding lights that can be used to blind the enemy combined with a blocking glasses so you could attack while the enemy is blinded.

Night vision goggles and much more cool gadget exist in this place aside from costume. After all, this shop is named wright gear and costume.

Max received his costume from the store attendant not long after and walked back to the storefront.

“Thank you for repairing my costume.”

“Your welcome. Please come by again.”

“When I have more money, I would definitely order a gear for myself.”

Max knows that relying on these gears isn’t good in the long run as some might be super reliant on them but having one as a trump card isn’t bad nevertheless. Of course, Max doesn’t forget to call his big sister to report his finding.

“So, have you picked up the costume?”

“Yes. Big sis, I never know that the wright gear and costume shop is so amazing.”

“Haha. So you saw the workshop?”

“I saw it! If I didn’t see it with my own eyes, I wouldn’t believe that such a place exists. Just like a scene from a spy movie, the gadgets and gears that they have there is amazing.”

“I know. I also know that you already planned to buy one gear for yourself.”

“Eh, how did you know, big sis?”

“I can read you like a book. Haha. Don’t overthink about it first since you couldn’t possibly afford it for now.”

“Yes. I asked the store attendant and a piece of gear that could unleash a D-rank attack priced in the millions. Unfortunately, the cheapest D-rank gear available on sale is an energy shield that is around $500,000. However, it is useful in a lot of situation.”

“Well, you better start earning money now if you want to buy it.”

“Yes. I can’t wait to start working again tomorrow. I have also decided that I will just take the mission from the mission board. Since I have target money that I need to make every month, I should do it efficiently.”

“Okay, good luck to you then.”

“Thanks. Sis, did you know the most amazing thing that I found out today?”

“What is it?”

“They could actually make a piece of S-rank equipment. They said that it was made from something called Pluton threads and Pluton armour, but the price is astronomical.”

“Haha. Stop thinking about things that are out of your reach and focus on recruiting your first teammate.”

“Yes, mam! I will follow your command.”
