Max has high hopes for her initially, but it was reasonable that she is just a D rank hero because of her age. Even if she could really help him find Lindt and his companion, they will be doing a suicidal mission if they confront them.
"Should I really give up in executing my revenge?"
During the meal, Yuna didn't say anything else and only ate her meal quietly and fiddled with the toys that come with the kid's meal set.
"Alright, I'm done. You should go home and stop loitering around the memorial monument."
Max leaves the restaurant, and after walking for some time, he realized that Yuna is following him. He decides to ignore her and walked back home to the orphanage. Since it was a two-hour walk back, he wanted to know just how far the girl's determination was to follow him.
If she managed to tail him back to the orphanage, he might give her a chance just for her stubborn personality. After all, it would mean that at least she is resolute enough not to give up halfway. Max then pretended not to notice the girl following him.
"Just how far will we walk? Why can't he take a taxi or a bus at least? I believe we walked for more than an hour already."
Yuna is complaining grudgingly while she followed Max. she doubted that Max is only messing around with her since they aren't walking in a circle. Yuna is relieved when she sees that Max stopped walking and turned around to face her.
"Hmph! Finally, you realized that I am following behind you? Do you have fun messing around?"
"Who said that I'm messing around? This place is my home."
Max then pointed behind him, and Yuna can see the dilapidated building of the orphanage. It has a vestige of a grand building, but it has become what it is now as time goes by. Having withstood the rain and wind for so long, the paint has started to faint out.
Yuna looked at the name of the orphanage, 'united orphanage'. From the name, Yuna knows immediately that this is a place where the children that have become orphans because of the bombing incident resided since her brother is also one of the victims. She investigated the details of the event.
"Then, you could have just take a bus or taxi instead of walking. You're definitely messing around with me. You're just jealous because I'm really a hero, right?"
"I walked because I don't have money. You see, as a child of the orphanage, we're not given any allowance."
Yuna wanted to release her anger, but she couldn't after hearing that.
"Now, tell me. If I could give you a hint of the culprit, how will you search for them?"
"Of course, I will be using the database that is available for heroes."
"Then, can I go with you when you're using the database? If you can't, then I won't cooperate with you."
Yuna then thinks for a moment before agreeing.
"There’s no problem with you seeing me accessing the database since the information that I could access is limited too because of my rank.”
“Okay, shall we meet up tomorrow here?”
“Is there a net café around here that we can use?”
“Honestly, I don’t know. I can’t go too far either since I don’t have money and I have to walk to the place if you decided to meet far away from this place.”
“Alright, I’ll pick you up tomorrow then. Give me your number.”
“I don’t have a phone either.”
“Really? Did you live in a cave or something? Let’s just meet here tomorrow at 10 o’clock then?”
“I have school so I can’t meet you up at 10. How about at 3 p.m.?”
“Really? You still have to go to school?”
“Unlike you who have a hero license already, I’m still an active student.”
“Well, we’re going to waste too much time if we’re going to meet here. Let me just pick you up from your school. Which school is it?”
“City B national school. But, will you be able to find me?”
“Don’t worry. I’ll leave my imprint on you so I can find you tomorrow.”
After that, Yuna makes some gestures in the air, and from the tip of her fingers, Max can see a fire butterfly formed. It flew through the air and landed at the back of Max’s palm, and disappear completely. Max couldn’t feel anything strange, and when he touched the back of his palm where the fire butterfly disappeared, he didn’t feel any bump or whatsoever.
“Are you stupid or curious? My fire butterfly is without a trace and invisible to the naked eye. If you want to wipe it off, you need someone with power much greater than me by at least two ranks. This means, only A-rank heroes and up could feel it and erase the imprint. Don’t think much about it. I’m leaving then.”
Max is tempted to use his wind superpower to tamper with the fire imprint, but it will expose him, so he refrained from doing so. Max just tried to move the wind to the back of his palm, and this time, he could vaguely feel the fire butterfly. It seemed that Yuna is somehow capable enough to have this kind of ability under her arsenal.
The time flew so fast, and finally, it is time for Max’s school to end. By the time he walked out of the gate, Yuna is already waiting there. With an oversized hat and black sunglasses with a mask to hide her identity, surprisingly, she is leaning on the school’s wall, and it surprised Max.
“Are you ready to go?”
“Yeah, where will we go?”
“I found out that there’s a net café not far from here. We can use the computer to access the heroes database.”
“Alright, what are we waiting for then?”
Arriving at the net café, this is the first time Max entered such a place. For Yuna, she seemed to be experienced as she immediately gets a private booth for both of them to use.
“Here, booth number 32.”
Sitting inside the private booth, it was wide enough for two people to sit in but a bit cramped. For Max, he still interacted with girls in his class. Still, he doesn’t really understand how to act, so when Yuna sits down, Max sits beside her immediately as if nothing is wrong. for Yuna, however, she understands that there should be a line between boy's and girl's interaction. Hence, she feels a bit flustered with Max’s action.
Not to mention that most of the boy interacting with her is flattering her due to her unique status as a hero. Even at the hero school, she is someone that is many people looked up to. She feels embarrassed, but she doesn’t say it out loud. After all, what’s more important is getting the information about the culprit from Max.
