“Max, are you okay?”

“Ah, sorry, big sis Kalina. I spaced out there. What is it again?”

“As we have known your stats and knowledge on what to improve, we are now going to create a training plan.”

“Sound’s good to me.”

“Firstly, I need to ask you a question. How did you practice your superpower to the level you are able to reach B rank, almost at A?”

“I’ve shown you before, big sis. It is by engulfing myself with the wind. I have shown you several times.”

“Oh, that thing? I thought it was only a gimmick. Since it was your original move,  I suggest you develop your signature move around it? Although our main training is to increase your rank, training your signature move to increase your sensitivity might be the correct way since that is how you trained all this time.”

Seeing that nothing is wrong with the suggestion, Max agreed to the idea.

“Alright, so your training for increasing sensitivity is settled. I will be sending you details later on what you should do about your signature move, but at the end of the training, I hope that your sensitivity will reach the A rank.”

Max isn’t confident that he could do it if he is alone. Fortunately, he has Kalina beside him that becomes a new source of strength for him.

“As for your speed, since it is already at the C-rank, I think it is also benefited from your B rank sensitivity. The training to increase your speed won’t be too intense since I believe as your sensitivity training is ongoing, your speed will increase too. Even if it didn’t increase, we could rest easy for now since having it at C rank is already satisfying enough.”

Max kind of knowing where this is going, so he doesn’t refute it at all.

“Our main focus will be training your power which is D- and more importantly, your energy that hasn’t even reached D-rank. It still amazes me how you managed to defeat Bonio and Yann.”

“Well, big sis. You already heard it from me that throughout the battle, I only released two wind bullets, and that’s it.”

“Don’t you dare acting recklessly like that again in the future!”

“Big sis! They are the one that is coming for Yuna and me. I am not even going after them.”

“I’m just warning you. Remember, I have 60% share of what you’re going to make, so don’t you dare to die before making me rich.”

“Yes.”

“Okay, for your power training, it is basically nothing special. Once a day, you need to unleash all of your power into one move and unleash it. Since you already learned how to do the wind bullet, try to make the most powerful wind bullet that you can. Power and energy training goes hand in hand with another. With more energy, you could unleash more powerful moves, and with more power, you can manage your energy better.”

Max can understand the relation between power and energy better. It can be said that Kalina is a great teacher. Well, she is a teacher, in fact, at the United Heroes school.

“To increase your energy, that is our biggest homework since you’re not even ranked at this part. Increasing your energy is divided into several parts. Your running and breathing training is one part. The power training to unleash all your energy can also enlarge your energy tank, so that’s two. The third part is to make sure that you’re eating good food to provide enough energy intake. Fourth, we will train your body. Being muscular is not the focus, but we need to train it to fit for battle.”

As Max lived his life in the orphanage, he has never done any exercise or taking care of his body. It is natural that his energy isn’t even ranked and will become his most significant obstacle if he wants to pass his hero license in the future. If his energy level stayed at no rank, there’s no way for him to get a hero license.

“Yes, big sis. I will follow all of your instructions!”

“Remember, Max. Only by reaching S-rank will you be able to get the opportunity to go and look for Lindt and Vanya. Before you reach S-rank, I forbid you from doing reckless things.”

“Yes, mam!”

“Okay, you can rest for today but don’t forget to prepare for your training. Starting tomorrow, you will be doing the specialized training, and I will write the schedule for you.”

After that, Max and Kalina finished their training for the day and returned to their own place. Kalina, however, makes phone calls, and the receiver of the call is now relaxing on top of her bed. If Max saw the girl, he will immediately recognize her. It was Yuna, the girl who just escaped death alongside with Max.

“So how is it, teacher?”

“I just finished testing his ability, and I believe he will be able to be a good rival for you in the future. A good kind of rival though where you both will strive to improve for the better.”

“Is he really that good?”

“I know how amazing you are, but Max is more ridiculous. You have entered the United Heroes school since you are small and receive all kinds of training and nutritious food provided by the association. Max grows up in a limited condition, but still, his potential isn’t losing with you. Maybe, talking about talent alone, he is above you.”

“teacher, are you doing this on purpose to make me raise my competitive spirit?”

“Well, who knows? At least I am not doing this because of malicious intent.”

“But you have a mischievous intent instead!”

“Well, no harms done, right?”

“That’s true. By the way, teacher, can I ask you something?”

“What is it, Yuna?”

“Is it really Max that killed Bonio and Yann?”

“Well, you can’t tell this to anyone else since the association decided to hide this truth, but it is indeed Max that killed them. I won’t go into details, but it has something to do with his potential. I am expecting great things from him too.”

“If you say so, then he must have a really great potential. By the way, teacher, don’t you have any expectations from me too?”

“Yuna, you should have known that you and Max have similar story. I just hope that both of you won’t get your eyes clouded with revenge. Max has already promised me that he won’t try to search for Lindt and Vanya again, not until he reached S-rank. Can I have you to promise me the same?”

“If even Max has made that kind of promise, I will also do the same. However, what if somehow we’re getting involved with them without actively seeking for them?”

“Then I can only say that it was fate.”

Kalina can’t say anything else if it was the case. She just hopes that Yuna and Max can grow before they met with the same circumstances again. After all, they have experienced too much, and she hoped that they could act like normal kids their age, not holding revenge deep inside their hearts.

Without them knowing, days passed by so fast. Weeks turned to months, and finally, years come one after another.
