Death Doctor III

Max aimed at the Death Doctor’s leg and launched his attack.

*swish*

The bullet cut through the wind and caught the Death Doctor by surprise.

“Sh*t a sneak attack!”

The moment he realized that there’s an attack coming from the front, he can only summon a metal hand to form a shield in front of him.

The Death Doctor conjured the shield in a hurry and made it float above his upper body area as the heart and head are vital organs that he needs to protect. He thought that the attack would be aimed there, but he got it wrong this time.

The wind bullet managed to pierce through the Death Doctor’s left leg and create a hole at the size of three fingers.

The Death Doctor stumbled forward because of the attack and screamed in pain as he rolled on the ground.

“Argh! Damn it! F*ck!”

The Death Doctor tried to get up and escape once more as he creates a metal cast to cover his injured leg. This time, he couldn’t run as fast as before as he limped forward. This gives enough time for Yuna to catch up to him.

“Sh*t! That b*tch already here.”

Yuna, who is chasing after the Death Doctor, is ready to face him again. Even though Death Doctor is injured right now, she didn’t dare to let her guard down. After all, a cornered rat can still bite and more ferocious because of the desperation to make a last stand.

“How about you give up now? I promise I won’t hurt you further.”

“Haha, over my dead body. I won’t be injured if it wasn’t for your comrade’s sneak attack. You’re nothing but a tame dog. All bark and no bite!”

Hearing the insult from the Death Doctor, Yuna won’t be playing it nice anymore. The Death Doctor summons all of his power to create a full-body metal armour which makes him bigger and more menacing from earlier.

Even Max can feel that it was dangerous and most likely the Death Doctor’s trump card. Yuna is being careful, but she isn’t afraid at all. As the enemy unleashed his strongest move, it is time for her to do the same.

Fire lotuses started to appear around her and covered her body. With the rising temperature and dry air around her, a small typhoon appeared and surrounded her. The next moment, all the wind commotion is gone from the area as what appeared is an incarnation of the fire god. With all of her body covered by flame, Yuna’s overall ability has been strengthened.

This is Max first time seeing Yuna unleashing her decisive move, and he is stunned. Her appearance right now is out of this world, and it is also why she is called the fiery fairy. Beautiful like a fairy but burns anything that tried to touch her thorns.

The Death Doctor creates metal balls and sends them towards Yuna. The speed of the attack is just like a cannon, but Yuna can evade it easily. Not to mention on this form, she is capable of flying. Her manoeuvrability has been increased further.

After dodging the attack from the Death Doctor, it is time for her to counterattack. Yuna raises both of her hands to the sky then aimed it both at the Death Doctor. If what Yuna unleashed at her earlier battle with the Death Doctor is a one-handed flamethrower.

Right now, she is using both hands, which double the firepower. A line of fire is launched forward as the attack is more concentrated than before. The Death Doctor tried to block the attack, but he couldn’t stop it even with his armour.

The Death Doctor armour quickly melts under the fire, and the smell of burning flesh permeated in the air.

“Arrrgh!”

Yuna’s attack ended, and she also gets out of her fiery fairy form. The Death Doctor also couldn’t maintain his armour anymore as he fell on the ground. His right hand has been missing entirely, and the wound was letting out no blood as the flame cauterized it. The attack more like laser damage than a burning fire.

When apprehending a villain, a severe injury like the one the Death Doctor suffered couldn’t be avoided. However, if it was possible, a hero should not take the villain’s life as they should be judged by the law and serve their sentence in prison. If a villain’s life is lost in the battle, nothing could be done either since the heroes are also risking their lives to fight against the villain. In a situation where there could only be one survivor, killing the villain is allowed.

Just like if how a hero is killed in action. After all, becoming a hero and died on the battlefield is a risk that someone has to bear in mind the moment they got their hero license.

Yuna looked at Death Doctor and manipulated her flame to create a rope made of fire, and it slithers around before finally trapping him with flame rope.

“Joey, the target has been defeated. Has the police arrived?”

“Yes, they are here. Tell them to bring fire element restraint since the Death Doctor is of the metal element.”

Right now, Max is witnessing on how to apprehend a criminal. Previously, he thinks that just knocking out the villain and handing them to the police is sufficient, but there are special tools used to make sure the villain won’t be able to escape.

Like the fire element restraint that the police brought, it was like a coffin but made from a unique material. The one they used to restrict the Death Doctor is coloured red as it was of the fire element. The restraint was specially created to suppress the villain’s elemental power, and they won’t be able to use them while inside the container. As there is fire element restraint, there are naturally other element restraints used according to the villain’s elemental power.

When the police came and apprehended the Death Doctor, Yuna talked to one of them as she explained the situation, and after some time, she walked to Max.

“Good job.”

“Ah, thank you. You too, it seemed that your power is already at the B-rank. I think it is only a matter of time before you reach the B-rank.”

“Well, being promoted doesn’t always mean a good thing. Although the pay for each mission increased, the risk and responsibility that we have to bear also increased. Oh, Joey is already there with the car. Let’s quickly get back to the agency. I could really use an ice bath right now.”

Max is thinking of what he has experienced just now as they travelled back to the Rising Star Agency.
