Thea's incident

After hearing what Thea said, her Mama teared up silently while hugging her. However, it only lasted for a couple of seconds as she wiped her tears and stood up to greet Max.

“Hello, my I am Thea’s Mama. Thank you for taking care of Thea.”

“Hello, Thea’s Mama. My name is Air Hero, and as you can see, I am a hero.”

Max awkwardly introduced himself to Thea’s Mama as a hero as it is actually embarrassing to claim himself as a hero directly.

“Thea’s Mama, can I speak with you for a moment?”

Thea then played the swings again while Max and her mother speak not far from her.

“I think it would be better if you have some time to explain to Thea about what happened with her Papa. Although she somehow has cheered up, you won’t be able to hide it from her for long.”

“I know. I have been thinking about it for some time, but I couldn’t bring the heart to tell her. That is why I’ve been crying silently at night. However, hearing what she told me make me realize that I shouldn’t stay down for so long, and it is time for me to start smiling. Even though it’s hard, I know that I can do it. Seeing the smile on her face, I want her to start smiling again, and this time, I believe that she and I could be strong even without her father.”

Max nods after seeing the determination on Thea’s Mama eyes.

“I hope that she won’t be disappointed in me for lying to her.”

“Don’t worry. I will properly explain it to her. This time, I will be the reason for her to smile, and she will be the reason for me to stay strong without my husband. Thank you.”

After that, Thea’s Mama decided to bring Thea back home with her. But, while leaving, Thea didn’t forget to wave her hand at Max.

“Big brother Air, let’s meet again next time.”

“Sure!”

Max is waving at Thea after she left until she disappears from his sight. Speaking with Thea opened the memory from his childhood. Maybe he sympathizes with her and doesn’t want to see her sad. He hoped that she wouldn’t be heartbroken after hearing the explanation from her Mama.

Just when Max is stretching himself and going to resume his patrol for today, he heard a scream, and it was coming from a familiar voice. Max immediately runs towards the source of the commotion and found Thea’s Mama sitting on the ground. It was clear that something must have happened as her looks were in a mess as Thea couldn’t be seen anywhere nearby.

“Thea’s Mama! What happened?”

“Air hero! Please, help me save my daughter. Thea has been taken away!”

“What?! How did this happen?”

“I don’t know. A man suddenly came and grabbed her before running away in the distance. I tried to run after them, but I feel electricity run inside my body and only now I can move and talk again.”

“Which direction did the man run to?”

“That way.”

Thea’s Mama pointed in a direction, and Max looked towards where her finger is pointing.

“Alright, leave it to me. I will go and rescue Thea. You can wait here and call the United Heroes emergency number and explain the situation to them.”

Without waiting for her reply, Max immediately runs towards the direction in which Thea’s abductor flees. Right now, Max is running faster than what an average person is capable of. This is one of the basic implementations of elements that Max learned in training.

The wind element is well known for its swiftness, and by taking advantage of it, Max is using the wind to push him forward as he runs and reduce the headwind that further accelerate his speed. However, he feels that something is strange as when he is running, the crowd doesn’t seem to be in a panic or shocked seeing a daylight k********g.

“This is wrong. If Thea’s kidnapper is running this way, the people should have realized something. However, the people around don’t seem to be behaving differently. Instead, they are more shocked seeing me running like this.”

Because of that, Max decided to change his way of searching. A gust of wind immediately gathered at the sole of his foot, and in the next moment, he jumped a couple of meters high and landed at the roof of a three-story building.

This building is relatively high considering that the buildings nearby the park is usually only one or two-level. With this, he has a higher point of view to look around, and he notices that people seemed to be moving away in fright and letting out surprised exclaim in another direction.

“There! It seemed that the kidnapper changed direction again.”

Max immediately bolted forward, and this time he isn’t running at the sidewalk but above the buildings. Again, just like doing parkour but he is running in a perfect posture as every obstacle easily evaded by utilizing the power of the wind.

In no time, Max managed to catch up with the kidnapper as the kidnapper changed his direction and entered a small alley that is devoid of people. Max immediately jumped down from the rooftop and arrived in front of the kidnapper to stop him on its track.

“Stop right there!”

At this point, Max managed to see Thea that is being carried by the man, and it seemed that she has fallen unconscious. That is the reason why he doesn’t hear Thea calling out for help, and the people on the streets didn’t think that she is being kidnapped. When the abducted target isn’t moving or calling out for help, the action of the abductor might seem to be someone trying to bring the target desperately to a hospital or something similar, so the people around don’t react to them.

Seeing that Max suddenly appeared in front of him and wearing a hero’s costume, the kidnapper already knows that the person he is facing right now is a hero that will stop him.
