Jhonny saw Max the moment he goes out of the Arena.

“Nice fight there.”

“Ah, but I still lose to Iki. How about you? How can you get out so fast?”

“I got lucky.”

“What? You managed to win over Heinrich?”

Iki, who is near them, also heard that and now examined Max closely. He never thinks that Max is someone that could defeat Heinrich. After all, he has interacted with Heinrich before due to their agency related to each other and have gone through a mission with him. Heinrich doesn’t have any real weakness, so for Max to win against him, it should be through overwhelming power or unique technique.

“As I told Jhonny before, I’m only lucky. Iki, right? I’m Max.”

“I’m Iki. Nice to meet you. However, I don’t think that it was only luck. I know Heinrich and how scary he is. He isn’t strong, but he covered the basic very deep. He won’t make any mistake, so the reason why you win over him must be because of something special.”

“Haha, you flatter me. But, really, I am only lucky.”

Max only said that and replied to Iki as a courtesy. After all, he could potentially be his enemy later, and he doesn’t want to expose his move to him. Jhonny and Iki are on their way to get treated, so they didn’t converse for long. Max also returned to see who else has passed the top 100. Linda and Chloe, without any surprise, managed to win and their match has ended. Unfortunately, Max didn’t get any chance to look at their battle.

He also found Norton battling on one of the screens not long after, but it was a pity that he lost to the enemy. It can be said that it was only because of a bad match-up as he almost win over the enemy. Norton used fire elements while the opponent he is facing is using a water element. However, one couldn't go against lady luck when it has decided to turn her back on you.

Norton lost because of the bad element match-up and have to sit back with Jhonny since he will only be a spectator for the next round. He wasn’t even in a hurry to get treated and talked with Max for a bit. His body didn’t suffer much, and in the end, he surrendered because he knows that he could never win against the enemy water element since none of his attacks is working.

After consoling Norton, Max sent him to the treatment place and returned to see that all of the matches for the top 100 have finished. As there is a break time before the second round starts, Max tried to find someone he knows. They are probably Chloe and Linda since they are also the remaining people from his original team that made it into the top 50 since the people who got eliminated aren’t allowed to revisit the waiting room.

“Miss Linda, Chloe, you girls managed to win!”

“Hmph. Of course, I win that match. After all, it’s only a match to find the top 100. My goal is to get the first place.”

“As for me, I could win it because the opponent isn’t familiar with my move. Not to mention my ability is a rare one.”

Max shakes his head, hearing Chloe’s remarks as he didn’t have anything to refute her. Instead, he smiled at Linda and agreed that her ability is rare since the shadow elements are one in a million finds.

With that, the three of them sit together while waiting for everyone to gather back at the waiting area. He also spotted Giovanni that is being surrounded by other people that is trying to form a connection with him.

“Hmph, a bunch of flies. Trying to lick someone’s boots just because they aren’t confident in their ability.”

After interacting with her today, Max realized that Chloe isn’t really an arrogant person. She might be someone who’s just bad at expressing herself and awkward at social interactions. Her way of speaking is to hide her real self that isn’t confident as her eyes look to be envious of Giovanni.

There are also people crowding at another corner as they surround Elica and Kieran. This time, Max got a closer look at the two of them. If Giovanni is more like a child from a wealthy family, Kieran looks the opposite as he looks very humble. The smile plastered on his face, and his gesture kept bowing a little whenever someone introduced themselves to him. It makes Kieran be someone who is loved and accepted by all.

Elica, on the other hand, just like Chloe, put up a cold and unapproachable front. Everyone can feel a chill whenever they approached her. Nevertheless, there are still people trying to solicit her despite that. However, one thing that Max couldn’t deny that Elica’s appearance is mesmerizing. Like a rose bloomed beautifully in winter, blue eyes and red lips. Round perfect face as if God himself chiselled her contour and features. Not to mention her body that is full in the right places despite her dress like outfit.

There are also many people who just watched from a distance as admiring her beauty alone is enough to make them satisfied.

“Everyone! We only have one more rounds today. The top 50 battle will be concluded on this day. As for the top 32, top 16, and top 8, the battle will be done tomorrow. The day after tomorrow will be for top 4 and top 2 while three more days will be for the final match to decide the winner of the competition.”

Starting on the top 32, every battle will be done one by one, so everyone could watch and spectate what is happening in the match. In addition, it gives them time to examine their possible opponent for the next round and prepare a countermeasure against them.

As this will be the last battle for today, everyone is getting tenser. Winning the match will mean they could sleep well and expect tomorrow to come with an excited heart. Losing may make some people unable to sleep because of regret.

The competition bracket showed up once more and names flashing by. Everyone else probably wishes that they won’t meet Giovanni or the other strong contenders like Elica and Kieran to get a better spot in the hot newcomer competition.

When the names are revealed, Max doesn’t know whether to smile or cry since the name showed up as his opponent turns out to be Chloe. Chloe also realized this as she immediately glanced at Max and gave him a cold stare.

“Hmph! You better let me win this one.”

Hearing that, Max feels like he wanted to laugh out loud. Who in their right mind would give a win to the opponent just because they asked for it. This is a competition, after all.
