Amber’s PoV
“Do you think they’ll be okay?” Lilly asked me as she clasped her hands anxiously in her lap.
“Of course they’ll be okay,” I answered her with a confidence I didn’t quite feel and forcing a smile on my face to reassure her, “Both Ryan and Tom are two of the most capable men that I know. It’ll take more than a poorly planned assassination attempt to bring them down.”
Lily smiled back at me half heartedly and Rae whined anxiously in my head.
“We should be with him Amber….it feels wrong to leave his side…” She whined as I sighed internally.
“I know but…what can we do really? If they’ve sent trained assassins then what hope do we stand against them? We couldn’t even take our own father down…”
