RANCH DEL ROMANCE
(Third Person POV)
Three gunshots filled the air followed by groans and thuds.
Mr.Hugo without his golden cane and wearing one of his favorite three-piece white suits sniggered as he watched three of his underlings whom he ordered to pick up Lucy the other night slowly died with their blood smudging the turf. He gave the deadly pistol with silencer to his assistant and faced Selene who froze on her spot with her daughter Katrina beside her. With wide eyes, both were shocked and trembled in fear as they witnessed how the cruel old man mercilessly killed his own men.
“A simple task yet they failed,” the businessman muttered in an apathetic voice. He wore off his gloves and took paces forward which made Katrina more terrified and clutching the sides of her summer dress hid behind her mother who was also extremely frightened to even utter a word.
Mr.Hugo stopped just a few inches from them and took his tobacco out of his coat. His assistant automatically lit it and distance himself after. The businessman hummed as he gave the two she-wolves in front of him unnerving gazes before his intense stares focused on Katrina's whole form.
A smug smirk formed on his lips before he waved to his men who were watching over the vicinity. “Lock the girl into her room," he ordered and then glared at Selene. "If your stepdaughter is still not found within twenty-four hours, then your own daughter will be my substitute bride.”
Selene and Katrina gasped in sync from what they heard.
"No!" Katrina yelled as Mr.Hugo's men moved and grabbed both of her arms. "Let go of me, you stinking mongrels! Mom! Help me!" she shouted as they dragged her inside the house.
“Mr. Hugo,” Selene cried and fell on her knees in front of the businessman. “Please, spare my daughter! She has nothing to do with all of this! Please, have m-”
Mr. Hugo didn't wait for her to finish her sentence as his eyes turned to squints. He grabbed a fistful of Selene's hair and yanked her up which made her yelped in pain.
"Mr.Hugo, have mercy! Don't kill me!" Terrified, she pleaded with him with her hands clasping together against her chest.
“You disappointed me," Mr.Hugo grumbled with a hostile expression on his face. "I told you to watch over your stepdaughter and you f*****g let her escaped and run away with whoever that bastard was!” he roared and then ground his teeth. “If I can't have Lucy del Romance, then I'll have your daughter as a repayment of your debt! I will make her my w***e and it will surely be f*****g fun!" He then pushed her down to the ground and laughed malevolently.
Selene wept but didn't dare talk back for she knew how evil the businessman was. In her mind, only one person is to blame. "It's all that ungrateful b***h's fault, Lucy del Romance!"

-Time Skip-
Reid's mansion...
"Hugo Vertillo. Sixty-five years old. Businessman. Owner of Grand Casino located downtown of DarkStone. One of the Mafia King's wingmen."
Smithly Reid handed the folder with Hugo Vertillo's information to Zacria as he walked inside of his room using the secret door.
"Damn it!" The Alpha cursed as his cousin who was leaning on the shelves and seemed like waiting for his arrival startled him.
"That's just how spooky he is, bro!" Sasha grunted from the couch while massaging his nape.
Smithly shrugged his shoulder and sat down beside the second in command who quickly scooted away like he was infected by a deadly virus.
"For Goddess's sake, man!" Sasha growled at him. You've broken fifty percent of my limbs already. Give me a f*****g break will you."
"Pretending to be the Alpha, huh?" Smithly gave Sasha a deadpan look. "You suck at it, idiot."
Zacria shook his head and as the two continued barking at each other, he opened the folder and read Hugo Vertillo's files.
One thing that Smithly is really good at is digging data. That made the Alliance trust him and his skill.
Zac hummed as he started reading. All the things about the businessman were detailed and it made him feel more protective of Lucy when he learned that she's almost to marry a man in a werewolf syndicate. A man involved in many crimes that were dismissed for lack of shreds of evidence. Typical for those genius fugitives who knew how to clean up their mess after committing offenses.
Zac read further and found out that Selene Callahan has tremendous debt to the businessman and she is using Lucy as a repayment.
"f*****g rotten mutts," he grumbled under his breath before he threw the folder to the walls and the papers got scattered on the floor. With brows furrowed and his jaw clenching, he turned to his Beta and Gamma who instantly stopped bickering and went serious.
"Monitor the bastard, Smithly. I need someone to infiltrate his den to know all his movements," Zac ordered his cousin and then faced his second in command. "Assign a group of our pack officers to patrol on the Sleepy forest, Sasha. I cannot watch on her twenty-four-seven so I must make sure that she's heavily guarded when I'm not around."
"Copy, Alpha!" Smitlly and Sasha responded.
Zacria heaved a deep sigh before he strode to the secret door. "I'm done here. I will go back to Miss del Romance and be back tomorrow to check the preparation for the ball."
"Wait, bro!" The beta called out.
Zac halted and looked back. "What?" He asked with a frown on his forehead.
"Does she know already that you are the Alpha of this pack?" Sasha asked back.
Zac sough and shook his head. "She had no idea of who I am. She's still clueless of everything but I plan to tell her on the day of the mating season's ball."
Smithly butt in the conversion with a hint of interest in his voice. "Who exactly is this 'Miss del Romance' you two are talking about?"
That made the Alpha's mood lighten. He continued on his way and smirked before he sated his cousin's curiosity. "My future wife and the future Luna of this territory, Smith. Lucy del Romance future Reid."
