Chapter 9: Father

*Aaron POV*

    The demons walked us up a flight of stairs, when we exited the dungeons and finally go to the level floor, the whole place looked amazing, it was huge and decorated in blue and black, it was dark and mysterious. After walking through a long hallway we finally came upon a throne room. Right where the throne stood, there was a single man who had his back to us, he seemed elegant in some way, he was wearing a shiny black suit, his hair shaved at the sides and combed at the top. When he turned and I saw his face my heart skipped a beat, he looked just like me except with short facial hair. Who is this man? And why does he look like me? I thought to myself.

    “Welcome” he grinned at us “well it’s not hard to tell which one of you I’m looking for, after all it’s like I’m staring at my fifteen year old self” he said and smiled at me, “who are you?” I asked again. Apparently whatever I said was funny to him, but I didn’t find the humor of it. “Isn’t it obvious? I’m your father, boy” he said to me in an irritated voice “I have a father, his name is Daniel and he’s a reaper” I said to him making him laugh again. Jackie and Damien were just staring at me not offering anything to say, they were probably just as confused as I was. I was getting mad and I could feel my power rising up from deep within me.

    “My name Is Hades, I am king of the underworld, hell and all dark realms” he put his hands up and said with pride. “You my boy are my son, I have been looking for you for fifteen years” this was getting annoying, this so called Hades was claiming to be my father when I already had one. “I told you before, I have a father, you must have the wrong person” he stared at me with an evil glint in his eyes “I make no mistakes boy, your mother ran away from me when she was still pregnant. Unfortunately, she died when I destroyed the town where she was staying, but before I could find you, a reaper took you away.”

    This couldn’t be true, it was a lie, Gina and Daniel Black were my parents “you lie!” I yelled at him. He smiled at me again with amusement “did you ever wonder how you got your powers? It is unheard of for a reaper to have more than one unless you are a descendant of Death himself or the Grimm Reaper” he said again, this time looking at Jackie. He laughed again “and here we have a powerless reaper who so happens to be a Grimm” he laughed again “what a waste, throw them back in the dungeon.”

    “No!” I yelled getting free form the hold of the demon, I punched him on the stomach and pushed him away, then I turned to Hades, I gathered up electricity on the palm of my hand and shot it right at him while he had his back turned to us. He quickly turned around and caught it with his hand and smiled at me, “did you really think you could sneak up an attack on me? you are weak! you have nothing compared to my power” he said angrily, he then shot the lightning back at me.

    My eyes widened in fear, but I managed to move quickly using my super speed, I ran to where the others were being held and knocked out the guard that was holding Jackie. Damien got free on his own using his fire to burn the demon on the face, he pushed him off and ran to my side. I grabbed hold to the both of them and teleported us out of there as fast as I could.

    I don’t know exactly where I teleported us to, but at least it was away from that place. We were in the middle of the mountains somewhere; it was the middle of the night and the full moon was out lighting the entire place. I climbed to the top to see where we were and to get a minute to myself, we were in the middle of nowhere in the middle of a mountain range, with no towns and no one close enough to tell us where we were.

    I sat down on a rock and threw rocks off a cliff that was nearby, after a while I heard footsteps behind me approaching, but I didn’t turn to see who it was. “Aaron are you ok?” it was Jackie who had walked up and sat right next to me “I don’t know, whatever that man was saying it keeps going through my head” I admitted. She gave me an unexpected hug and looked up at my face, I looked down at her confused, unsure of what was happening “he was just trying to get to you, you know who your parents are” she said in the sweetest voice I have ever heard.

    I smiled but I didn’t know why, was it because she was here with me? or was it because she was right about my parent? Whatever it was I don’t care, this, being this close to her like this felt nice. I rested my head on top of hers and we stayed like that for a while.

    We made our way back down to where Damien was, he had a fire going and was in the middle of skinning a deer down, where he got the knife and how he had done that I don’t know. He looked up at us and his green eyes sparkled as he smiled at us “so you guys are official now or what?” he asked pointing to us with the knife. I looked at him confused then turned to look down at Jackie who was smiling up at me, at some point she had taken ahold of my hand and held on to it all the way down. I was so comfortable around her that I hadn’t even notice, when did I become this comfortable around her? This whole time she had been so mean and never showed any interest, and just like that here we were holding hands as if we were a couple.

    She slowly took her hand back and I swear I saw the slightest pink color on her cheeks, but she quickly turned away and sat down on a log next to the fire. I looked around and saw that Damien had gathered cooking supplies, knifes, and a tent? “where did you find all of this stuff?” I asked him as I looked around and kept seeing more stuff “there’s a town nearby that seemed to have been destroyed a long time ago, I looked around and found some stuff we could use to stay the night” he happily said. A destroyed town? Those words kept ringing in my head.

    “Have you tried teleporting back to the underworld?” I asked “yeah about that, I have no idea how to teleport back to the underworld, I tried but I just kept teleporting in different places of the same area right here” he said worriedly “damn, that’s what I was afraid of, I’m sorry I teleported us to somewhere we don’t even know where we are” I said to them. “we’re in the Earth realm” Jackie said out of nowhere, both Damien and I turned to look at her questioningly.

    She sighed and turned to us to join the conversation “my dad always talks about different realms he’s been in, there are portals that lead to different realms, unfortunately we got kidnapped before he could get to the lesson of where the earth portal is at, unless they come looking for us, we have no other way to get home, we’ll have to find that portal if we want to get back home.” “so we’re stuck in the Earth realm?” Damien asked “yes” Jackie answered.

    “Well what are we going to do, we don’t know anything about the humans, not to mention we look nothing like them, we’re completely gray and skeleton like” Damien started freaking out “we’ll survive, Damien you already know how to survive, you hunted a deer” I pointed out to him “as for blending with the humans I can take care of that, but just because we’re stuck out here doesn’t mean we’re not going to make it. Starting tomorrow we will keep training; we have to be ready in case those demons find us again.”

    Jackie looked down and blood tears started to fill her eyes again “you heard what Hades said, I have no power” she said softly “well I don’t believe that, I’m going to help you get your power, the three of us are going to become stronger than ever, we’re going to find that portal and make it back home.”
