Chapter 8: Taken

*Daniel POV*                I felt his powers, stronger than I had ever felt it before, something wasn’t right, I rushed to follow where his power was coming from, but by the time I got there it was too late. His power shut off as if he had passed out, “Aaron, Aaron!” I screamed for him in panic, but no one answered back. Shortly after I had arrived Lord Death and the Grimm reaper joined me; it was no surprise that they would have felt it too. “He’s not here” I started crying, pools of blood building up in my eyes “calm down Daniel, we don’t know what happened here” Lord Grimm helped to steady me.                My mind wasn’t in the right, I was too worried about my son to think straight, “the smell of sulfur is lingering around this area, there were multiple demons here” Lord Death said calmly, he turned to look at me, but I couldn’t see what he was thinking, sometimes I really didn’t like how he kept his face covered all the time. “Daniel, you need to get ahold of yourself, if your son was kidnapped, I need you to be at your best” he said with a firm voice. He was right, if I was getting my son back I couldn’t be shutting down. I wiped my tears off and focused on what needed to be done. I gathered electric static on my hands and blew it over the street where we were. There my son’s blue aura showed there were five others a silver one I didn’t recognize, Damien’s red aura and three yellow ones which I’m guessing were the demon’s auras. I saw how all three of them were taken and lifted into the sky, after that everything was blank.                Grimm stood frozen and didn’t say anything “Grimm, is everything ok?” I asked him, he snapped his head my way so fast “that silver aura is my daughter’s” he said trying to keep his voice from breaking “we have to go after them” he was the one panicking now. “and we will, but we have no idea where they have gone to, they have been covering their tracks” Lord Death said, “they are demons, there is only one place where they might go, hell!” Grimm argued with Death, “we don’t know that for sure” “we know someone had been killing reapers and we never figured out who, it had to be the demons and there’s only one person who could give that order” Grimm argued “Hades” I whispered to myself.                We made it back to Death’s castle to discuss things further, we couldn’t risk other reapers listening in to our conversation “If Hades really took the kids, we stand no chance, he is more powerful than I am” Lord Death stated “you are the Lord of Death, you have more power than he does” I watched as Grimm went back and forth with Death. “I might be Death, but he is the keeper of souls, I’m a lower god compared to him, if he wanted to, he could replace me just as easily.”                This conversation was going nowhere, and the longer we waited, the more trouble the kids could be in. I sighed “what do you suppose he wants with the kids?” I asked fearing what his answer would be, even though I had a feeling I already knew. “He doesn’t want all of them, he just wants Aaron, the demons probably couldn’t tell who the power was coming from so they took all three of them” Lord Death answered “how do you know it’s Aaron he wants, he could have gone for Jackie as well” Grimm said annoyed, the secret of Aaron being special was just kept between my family and Death, Grimm knew nothing about it.                “Aaron is a special reaper, he possesses many powers, Hades could want him for his powers” “Jackie is my daughter, she could possess many powers as well” there was no getting through Grimm, he was not thinking right at the moment. “That’s enough of you Grimm, you have students to train in a week, I suggest that you get yourself together before then” Death stood up from his chair and yelled throughout the room, making Grimm freeze in his spot. “Yes my Lord” he finally said in almost a whisper. “I understand you’re worried about your daughter Grimm, but this childish behavior is not going to get us anywhere, you’re dismissed.”                After Grimm left the room Death turned to look at me, “I would like you to investigate this more, if you need to take Gina with you, do it, your daughter can stay here in the palace” I bowed my head and left, this was going to be a hard conversation with my wife. There was no way she would say no to looking for our son, even though it meant leaving our daughter in someone else’s care, she wasn’t going to stop looking until we got Aaron back.       *Aaron POV*     When I woke up I had a major head ache, the smell of sulfur was strong, as my eye sight was adjusting I saw that I was locked in a damp cell with little to no light. I looked around, my eyes landed on Damien and Jackie who were locked in here with me. They were both still knocked out, so I shook them to wake them up. “Jackie, Damien, wake up” I whispered to them “Jackie, Damien” I said to them again, finally they were starting to stir awake.     “What the f**k Aaron!” Jackie pushed me away, not fully awake yet “where are we?” Damien asked “I don’t know, we’re locked in a cell” at the mention of being locked Jackie fully woke up and fear washed through her face. Next thing we know, she lets out an ear piercing scream, making Damien and I cover our ears. When it wasn’t letting out, I crawled to her and took her in a hug with one of my hands covering her mouth “shh” I said to her “Jackie you have to be quiet, we don’t know who it was that took us” I said to her again.     Tears started building up in her eyes, her beautiful black eyes were getting all covered in red. I hugged her close to me and stroked her hair as she hugged me back and I let her cry into my shirt. I looked over to Damien who was smiling over at me, so I shot him a glare. I never expected her to hug me like this, but it was just the circumstances of where we currently were at. She would never actually do something like this willingly. “So, who do you think took us and why?” Damien finally asked “I don’t know” I sighed looking down at Jackie who had cried herself to sleep.     “She doesn’t look so bad when she’s not being mean” Damien said, “maybe she’ll warm up to you” he teased “pf, she’s only like this now because we’re locked up, if we ever get out of here she’ll be back to being who she’s always been” I said back to him “do you really think so? I mean she went to look for you so you could help her train, I think she might secretly have a thing for you, and you’ve been my friend forever, I know you have a thing for her.” I didn’t say anything back, he was right, but I wasn’t going to tell him, if she really did have a thing for me, then why has she been treating me badly all of these years? I looked down at her then back up at him, he just smiled at me then looked out of the bars.     At some point I had fallen asleep, I was woken up by the noise of a door creaking open very loudly. “get up!” a demon yelled at us. I shook Jackie awake who looked around scared, when her eyes landed on the demon he just offered an evil smile. “where are we?” I asked “you’ll soon find out. Two more demons showed up and they dragged us through the cells heading out of them, where were they taking us? I asked myself keeping my guard up the whole time.
