Chapter 21

1474 Words

I returned to our home and have waited on Anders for some time, but he has not returned. Will he return? The woman said he would need me, so surely, he will. Or this wolf will. I can’t explain it, but I just know deep inside of me that the wolf was him. There’s a chill inside so I grab a few logs and put them in, igniting a fire to try and warm the home for his return. Will he be hungry? I don’t have much food, but there is a little bit left from last night in a pot near the fire. He can have that and I will figure something out for later. I’ve been sitting at the table for hours and the sun is beginning to peek over the horizon when, finally, the door opens and Anders, a human Anders enters. Unfortunately, he does not look good. He’s not wearing any clothes, covered in mud.
