Chapter 3

1070 Words
The speaker was none other than Albi Martin! The Martin family had always been loyal supporters of the Fox family. By aligning with them, the Martins had risen to the top of Botoza, becoming an arrogant and untouchable family. To strengthen their ties with the Fox family, Albi had been pursuing Rosa! Rohan glanced at the approaching man, his eyes gleaming with malice. He said to Zach, "This is Mr. Martin..." Zach raised a hand to stop him. "Such a small fry isn't worth our attention." He shifted his gaze, searching for Alana. "Didn't you hear what I said?" Albi stepped closer, furious. Zach still didn't turn to look at him and continued scanning the crowd. 'So many guests had arrived, yet as the hosts, not a single Fox family member was here. They really knew how to make an entrance.' Zach casually picked up a glass of red wine from a nearby table and sipped it elegantly. "Who is this guy? He doesn't even respect Ms. Byrne or Mr. Martin!" "Hmph, he's probably just putting on airs. Once Ms. Fox appears, he'll be the most subservient of all." "Does he think offending Ms. Byrne will win him favor with the Fox family? He's asking for trouble!" The guests couldn't help but mock him. To them, Zach seemed like he was trying to impress Ms. Fox, hoping to catch her attention. Rosa's face darkened, and she said, "Many men can't even get a date with me, and yet he acts so superior. Albi, you've always wanted to impress me, haven't you? Teach this guy a lesson, and I might consider dating you!" At Rosa's words, Albi's anger turned to delight. He grinned at Zach. "Well, if not for your insolence, Rosa wouldn't have thought of dating me. As a token of thanks, I'll only maim your hands today!" "Are you an i***t?" Zach raised an eyebrow at Albi's outburst, then turned to face him slowly. Everyone was shocked. Just moments ago, Albi had intended to let Zach off lightly, but now it seemed no one could save him. Albi was also taken aback, and then he burst into laughter. "Interesting! Since you won't take the easy way out, don't blame me. You've provoked me. I take back my words. I'll cripple your hands and legs. Be prepared to be bedridden for life, regretting the day you crossed me!" Zach remained impassive. Countless people in the world wanted him dead, but he was still standing strong. Zach had had enough of Albi's nagging. He decided to take action, swinging his right hand with force. Slap! Albi staggered back as the slap landed squarely on his face, sending him tumbling to the ground. Enraged, Albi grabbed a nearby stool and swung it towards Zach, but it was stopped mid-air by Rohan. Rohan held the stool effortlessly with one hand, confronting Albi with a cold gaze. "Do you think you have the right to touch Marshal Gibson?" Rohan's voice was steely. "Haha, what a joke! Who else besides Ms. Fox dares to talk to me like that in all of Botoza?" Albi sneered. "And you lapdog, do you think you can block me?" Without a word, Rohan swiftly kicked Albi in the knee. "Ahhhh!" Albi's cry of pain echoed through the room, sweat beading on his forehead. The crowd was shocked. Even Rosa was visibly shaken. She had thought that once Albi showed who he was, these two would beg for mercy. But they not only ignored Albi but also broke one of his legs right in front of everyone. Albi shouted, "You bastard! I'll wipe out your whole damn family!" "Oh yeah? I'll be right here," Zach said coolly, sipping his drink without a care for Albi's threats. Crack! Rohan lifted his right foot and brought it down hard. Albi let out a scream, dropping to his knees as his other knee shattered. Standing before him was Rohan, towering like a behemoth. "Holy s**t!" Someone in the crowd couldn't hold back their shock. "Damn, that's brutal! Don't these guys fear the Martin family? And now they're provoking the Fox family too!" Groaning in pain on the ground, Albi realized that every tough word he spat out only brought him more trouble. Rosa cried out, "Cut the crap! I don't care who you are. Causing a scene at my uncle's bash means you're begging for trouble with the Fox family. You are digging your own grave!" Zach turned to Rosa, his voice ice cold as he snapped, "I'll say it again: get lost!" "You brat, do you even know who I am? I'm Alana's cousin. Do you seriously think you can tell me to scram?" With that, she lunged forward, ready to grab Zach's face. "Better get the hell out now, or I'll have you lying down like Martin over there." Rohan, standing close by, didn't hesitate to slap Rosa hard enough to send her crashing down. "Damn! First they cripple Mr. Martin, then they lay hands on Ms. Byrne. Don't they know Ms. Fox dotes on this cousin?" People figured the drama would die down quick, but they sure didn't see the next jaw-dropper coming. Just then, a guy in a sharp black suit strolled in. Albi nearly broke into tears when he saw him. "Mr. Fox, you finally made it!" "Mr. Fox?" Zach glanced up. "You must be Josh?" Josh frowned. "Now that you know who I am..." Albi clung to Josh's leg, bawling, "Mr. Fox, these assholes dared to screw up your bash. They have got no respect for you or Ms. Fox!" Zach shot Albi a cold look and said, "I guess I went easy. By three tomorrow, the Martins better be at my door. You all must slap in your own face and apologize to me. Otherwise, not a damn one of them gets out unscathed!" His words rattled the room. Even with Josh in the mix, they dared to be this cocky—they must've had a trick up their sleeve! Albi was still ranting on. "Mr. Fox, they're ballsy as hell in front of you. This is not just about my family—they're also disrespecting you!" Josh looked at Zach, stone-faced. "Who the hell are you? Starting s**t at my dad's bash? Are you trying to go head-to-head with the Fox family?" Zach stayed cool. "I thought you'd recognize my voice." Josh froze. "It's you!"
