CHAPTER NINE Ariel took a seat on the sofa and smoothed her skirt over her thighs. She needed to busy her hands with something, feeling somewhat under a microscope. Max watched her with hawk eyes, and the woman couldn’t stop thinking that he was looking for any faux pas she might make. A grin tucked at the corner of his mouth, Max came to Ariel, bringing her a glass of red wine and a paper napkin. The man didn’t see the need for that. However, he had good eyes and had noticed that a napkin always accompanied a glass of wine in the high-end lounges or cocktail bars. Max didn’t doubt that Ariel would patronize such an establishment.
