The trip felt like a lifetime, but it was exactly three days. Being in the back of this wagon with these horses was uncomfortable and hot, the four animals' body heat trapped in the wagon with us. I tried my best to ignore the sweltering heat and stayed in Julien’s arms anyway, not wanting to be away from him. Now that we accepted each other we were closer than ever, and the past me that wanted to run away all the time and try to handle everything on her own was gone, hopefully never coming back. Now, I never wanted to do anything without him, and I never wanted to run away from him again. I felt like I could do anything as long as he was by my side.
