CHAPTER 26 “So Woong’s missing?” Willow had picked up on enough of Kennedy’s conversation with Sandy to be worried. The girls sprinted toward the elevator that would take them to the ICU. Kennedy prayed she wouldn’t twist an ankle in those heeled sandals. “Yeah. I don’t know what happened.” Kennedy stared at every strange face she passed, wondering if Woong would be among them. Willow rubbed her back when they got on the elevator. “I’m sure he’s just fine.” Kennedy wished she could borrow some of her friend’s optimism. When they reached the ICU, Sandy was at the front desk, surrounded by several nurses, security officers, and Detective Drisklay, who raised his Styrofoam cup in expressionless greeting when he saw Kennedy come near. Sandy rushed toward her and wrapped her up in a hug.
