NEW YEARS EVE

In the morning of the 31st ,

The cop has arrived at 11am . He took her to a separet room to interrogate . '' So , miss Sophia , i want to know where were you durig your brother's death ?'' he asks '' i mean at twelve past forty five '' . '' I was at Harry's place along with other friends and was enjoying the party ;'' she sternly replies .

'' You noticed anyone leaving the party venue at that time ?'' he asked . '' No , everyone was there .... only ...'' she mutters . '' Only what ?'' he asks . '' Only EDWARD left for toilet but he also arrived in ten to twelve minutes '' she replied .

'' I see , well i have something to say to you that i haven't told anyone yet '' he remarks . '' What ?'' she asks . '' The thing is the place where you all were partying that place ,how much time does it takes to reach there ?'' he asks .

'' Around twenty to fifty five minutes '' she replied . '' Now , do you that the place where you were that is ........ ten minutes away if you take a shortcut '' he replies . '' What ? is there a short cut ?''she asks astonished .

'' Yes , if you take the route around the alley it's eight to ten minutes walk from here , so anyone there could have killed your brother and came back there easily '' he replies '' also the friends of your brother they could have killed him too , we still don't know who have killed him yet for now '' he says .

'' Anyway, that's all the information i have for now '' he says . '' Now all the suspects are the maids and servants and the people at the party and your brothers party '' he says . '' Anyway i must leave for now , i will go now '' he says getting up .

'' If you find anymore information , call me '' she says to her . '' Alright then '' he says leaving . Her Mom , Dad , Grandma and Grandpa were all waiting for the cop to come out . '' What did you find out ?'' asked her Dad.

'' Oh it's nothing don't you worry investigation is still going on '' he says '' i will contact you after further investigation is done good bye '' . He leaves . '' Anyway Sophia does he has any business with you ?'' her Dad asks .

''' Nope , there's still some investigation going on he only interrogated me '' Sophia replies . '' I see , anyway let's all go back to our work '' says her Dad . '' Everyone get ready before evening we all will leave together by car '' says her Grandpa .

Her Dad goes upstairs . Her Mom leaves too . '' Let's prepare for lunch '' says her Grandma . '' Alright then '' Sophia replies . '' What are you making today ?'' she asks . '' Hamburger steak '' her Grandma replies . '' Where is Uncle by the way ?'' she asks .

'' He's going somewhere so he left early '' says her Grandma . '' I see , where does he goes to you think ?'' she asks . '' I don't know he never tells me where he goes '' says her Grandma ..

'' I understand '' she replies . '' How much time will it take to make lunch i am going to meet our family lawyer to talk about the family property shares '' says her Dad . '' But what's the need for that now ?'' Granny remarks . '' Now that Samuel has died i need to think about our property heiress and all '' says her Dad .

'' As he's no more only Sophia is left to succeed me '' says her Dad looking at her . '' Anyway , i gotta eat '' says her Dad . '' I will hurriedly make the hamburger don't you worry '' says her Granny .

The old woman hurriedly makes lunch for her Dad . Even though she didn't had that much of good body but she was quite healthy After eating her father left . Sophia and her Granny ate together too .

After that Sophia went to meet Edward without telling him . It was the afternoon of the 31st . The day was kinda warm and the sun was peeking from the clouds . Sophia wore jeans and a coat over her top and crossed the road . She went to the flower shop to buy flowers for Edward .

'The owner , a little lady asked , '' for whom are you buying these flowers ?'' . Sophia blushed , said '' these are for my boyfriend who is sick and i am going to meet him '' . The owner smiled . '' I think then these red tulips will be better for you , i guess he will like them definitely '' she remarked ,

She took the tulips and handed them to Sophia . '' It will be of 4$ miss '' she said . '' Thank you '' said Sophia and took those flowers and headed towards where she's planning to go .

She crossed the small alley there came the long lane . '' This place looks less scarier compared to when i came at night . It just looks scary at night but this place is really beautiful during the day '' she remarked while walking .

'' Where did i went to again ? '' she was puzzled . She looked around for a while then she passed through the lane and found Edward's place his building . '' This looks so much better in the day '' she exclaims .

She goes in front of the building . '' There doesn't seem to be anyone here ,was it a good decision to come here without asking ? what if he gets mad at me ?'' she thinks . She decides to enter .

'' Edward ,are you at home ? '' she calls . '' Hello , sorry to come without asking ,are you at home ?'' she shouts . She goes to the second floor . She looks around and saw no on there . '' I think he will be on the second floor ''she thought '' but i think it's better to call him rather than going to all the floors , yes that will be good '' .

She calls him . '' Pick up the phone '' she says dialing the number . 'After a beep sound '' the one you are trying to reach is not able to take your call try again later '' . '' Why did he had to be busy now ? now what will i do ?'' the thoughts .

'' I guess , i can check out the other floors too , but Edward is too careless leaving the door unlocked like that '' she remarked while getting on the elevator of the third floor . When she reached the third floor ,there she noticed that all the things there neat and clean and all on their own places .

'' He's a sturdy guy '' she remarks . She was looking through his books , they were all about crime fiction , horror and mystery . '' Are these the things he likes to read all seems to be my favourite '' she remarks .

There she found ' the voyage to Timothy also ' the murder at the cathedral also many others . '' He's a mystery boy , he loves adventure mystery crime horror all of them ? now that's an interesting combination '' she remarks going through the pages .

She sat down onto the sofa reading one book . After ten minutes have passed away she noticed that she was quite thirsty . '' My throat is dry '' she says . '' Maybe i will get some juice for me to drink '' she says getting up .

She goes to the kitchen of the fourth floor and looks around something to drink . '' The kitchen seems messy , was Edward making something before he left guess i will clean it '' she mutters . She washed the dishes and cleans the kitchen .

'' Phew ', that was a lot of work '' she sighs . '' I am even more thirsty where is the fridge ?'' she thoughts . It was beside the shelf and the cupboard .

At this time Edward went to the convenience store . He comes out after buying the things he went to buy .

HE OPENS his phone from his pocket and notices that there was 2 missed calls . '' Hey , these are from Sophia . Why did she called ?'' he thoughts . '' Wait , there's also one text message , what is it .... surprise i have come to your house to give you a surprise visit i won't tell you my name bye '' .

'' Did she came here by any chance ?'' he thoughts . '' If that's the case it will be problem for me '' he mutters . '' The text message came later then she might have called when she couldn't find me there and i didn't lock the door before coming here so there;'s a possibility she might find something i need to hurry up and reach home '' he says to himself .

He runs as fast as he can , running towards his home . His house was close to the store so he reached there quite easily . He hurriedly reached the second floor . '' There was no network inside the store that's why i couldn't pick up her call s**t '' he curses herself .

'' Sophia , did you came here ?''he shouts . '' Sophia can you hear me please respond '' he yells . '' He goes to the third floor , He looks around all other places besides the kitchen . '' There doesn't seem to be anyone here '' he thoughts .

Suddenly , he hears a scream ''arghhhh '' '' Who's voice is that is someone here ? is it you Sophia ?'' he yells . '' Edward , please help '' she shouts . He runs to her fast . '' What happened Sophia ?'' he asks rushing to her side .

When he reaches there he saw , Sophia opening the door of the fridge and standing there in awe . '' Edward '' she mutters '' what is in there ?'' . '' What will be in the fridge ? food obviously '' he replies . '' No '' she shouts ''this is no food there is a vegetable here which is growing moss inside the fridge '' she mutters .

''' Oh , i thought about something else '' he sighs . '' What else did you thought ? a body inside the kitchen perhaps ?'' she chuckles . '' No way that is possible '' he replies . '' It maybe possible if you have a big freezer there and you cut up the dead body in pieces and put them in the plastic bag and put it in the freezer so the body stays all fresh and clean '' he says smirking .

'' Dangerous thoughts for a boy like you '' Sophia remarks . '' Ahh .. these are from ... a novel which i had read recently '' he stutters . '' Then , how do you think that the killer has killed Samuel on the christmas night when there was many maids and servants there along with his friends ?'' she asked .

'' Well ... .. i think this is my own thinking okay ...'' he says . '' Its alright , i just want to know cause you seem knowledgeable about it '' she remarks . '' Alright then well i think that maybe the killer hid among the maids and servants and put something in their drinks which caused his death and then dragged the body to the garden and took one rope and hanged him there '' he replied .

'' Wait a sec , did i told you that Samuel was poisoned to death ?'' asks Sophia . '' Ahh ... of course you told me in call did you forgot about that ?'' stutters Edward . '' Did i ? i don't remember actually , maybe i had then i forgot about that , my bad '' she apologizes .

'' It's alright , '' he replies . '' Where were you by the way ?'' she asks seeing the plastic bags in his hands and his sweaty figure . '' Oh , i ... went to the convenience store to make something for lunch '' stammers Edward .

'' I see , that's the reason i looked for a while still i couldn't find you '' she sighs . '' I cleaned your kitchen for you by the way is that alright with you ?'' she asks ., '' Sure everything is alright , i can't thank you enough for that '' he replies .

'' I will clean the moss you sit down '' says he putting the plastic bags down onto the kitchen table . '' I came to fetch a glass of juice '' she says , '' Here , will coffe work for you ?'' he asks . '' Sure '' she replies .

''' Catch '' he hands one can of coffe at her . She takes it and sits down onto the sofa . '' Hey , Edward '' she calls . '' WHAT was that thing in the right corner of the kitchen ?'' she asks . '' T-that is a medicine which cures headaches '' he replies . '' Does your head hurts ?'' she asks out of worry .

'' Yes , sometimes when i can't sleep '' he replies . '' I see '' she replied . Edward cleaned the moss in the meantime and came where she was sitting in the other room . '' Did you had lunch yet ?'' he asked .

'' Not yet for now '' she replied . '' Then i will make omlet rice for both of us to eat '' he suggests . '' I don't want to cause trouble for you '' she whines . '' Its quite alright , i just love feeding you '' he replies smiling .

Sophia looks at him i surprise . '' What happened ? why are you looking at me like that ?'' he asks feeling troubled . '' My mom ..... ''she utters . '' She used to say the same thing cause i loved her cooking and i really love yours too , she used to say i love to cook for you '' she said with a warm look on her face .

'' She must be a nice mom '' he remarked . '' Of course , my mom the previous one is the best mom in the world '' she asserts proudly . '' I got it how much you love your mom , let me work and you ...'' he was about to say something .

'' I will read these novels for you and think up a case for you to find out '' she said looking through the piles of books . '' Alright then '' he leaves for kitchen . ''Glad Sophia doesn't know what this is '' he mutters .

'' Hurry up please , i am hungry '' she whines . '' Coming up '' he replies . He makes the rice omlet and they both sat down to eat . Enjoying the afternoon together . After lunch they were talking about murder cases found in the novels .

Sophia found a book on faceless killer . A question came up on her mind . '' Hey , what do you think are serial killers good or bad ?'' she asks abruptly . After a pause he replies '' in what way ?'' .

'' I mean the way that they think that what they are doing is right and whoever goes against them is wrong in this sense '' she utters . '' Well , in that case , in their views they are good and in their point of view they are doing the right thing , even if they go against social morals but from our perspective its wrong an should be stopped '' replied Edward .

'' So , if they go against society that is good ?'' she asks . '' Yup , from their perspectives , the society and the enviornment causes them to kill people , not all people are born as murderers right ?'' he retorts . '' It's the society and the people who is responsible for creating serial killers , they themselves are not at fault here '' says Edward .

'' Even so they are shunned as the evil who should be purged from the face of the earth , that's just not fair '' he protests . '' You seem quite attached to them '' she remarks . '' Maybe because .... i read so many crime novels '' he stutters .

'' Yup they have cast an influence on you '' she chuckles . '' If i could i would kill all the bad people from the earth then there would be no hatred or no sufferings no one would get jealous of others and nothing else '' he states .

'' I think i really have taken a like to this side of yours '' she remarks . '' What really ?'' he asserts . '' Yes , your compassionate spirit towards others and kindness that makes who you are '' she says hugging him .

'' I love you '' she whispers . '' Me too '' he says kissing her . Embracing their bodies together they kissed for a while . After that they parted lips and Sophia returned home in the evening .
