NAINA
“…Okay, and? Okay, ma’am will surely attend the meeting with Mr. Jackson Morgan. Thanks a lot…” A smile on Lora’s lips formed as she sat on her chair beside my desk. As soon as she hung up the call, I looked at her with a raised brow, expecting an answer from her.
“Guess what?” She asked cheerfully.
“What?” I was clueless.
“Mr. Jackson Morgan wants to meet you, he wants to invest in your brand.” She said in a sing-song tone.
“Who is he?” I asked because I was seriously not aware of who the hell he was. She sighed before saying, “You should work on your social knowledge. He is a super-rich multi-billionaire of LA. He wants to expand his business in India, and that is the reason he is coming here next week.”
That did not make any sense.
“He wants to expand his business here by investing in my brand? Seriously?” I confirmed.
“No! He is coming here for his meeting with many other companies here, including with your cousin. But he seemed to be interested in yours too.” She told me as a matter of fact.
“Oh!” I said as I pondered over that.
“You know, you may ask Arjun sir to convince the rich dude to invest in Pearl fashion.” She suggested.
“You are aware that I won’t any help from my family. I want to tell everyone that I am capable too.” I said as I rolled my eyes at her.
“Alright!” She said and got indulged in her work. She clearly did not like my idea of not seeking help from Arjun or Rohit. She is not in my shoes and she definitely can’t understand what I feel. I know both, Arjun and Rohit will always be by my side for the whole of their lives, but I can’t become a burden on them. I want to be both, a father as well as a mother for my daughter.
Even my dad will readily invest in my brand, but I want to establish it without seeking anyone’s help. I searched for Jackson Morgan over the internet and found several articles about him.
His picture appeared on the screen. He was a rich handsome man with sharp features and a prominent jawline. He had blonde hair and blue eyes. His eyes and hair reminded me of Oreo. One thing was Crystal clear by now, that Kundan was not the Oreo who was my friend in childhood. He had tricked me by making me believe that he was Oreo. I don’t know where he might be by now. I wonder if I would be able to meet him or not. I don’t even know his real identity.
Well, as for now, the only thing that matters to me is my daughter. I don’t have to do anything with Oreo, even if he somehow manages to meet me. If we were meant to be together, then destiny might not have separated us.
As for this Jackson Morgan, he was considered the most eligible bachelor of LA. And wait. I saw numerous articles in which they claimed that Jackson Morgan was a gay? As per the reports, he did not have any eye candy, girlfriend, mistress, or wife. Maybe he was just like Lora.
His being gay does not matter to me. The only thing I want is to get a suitable investor for Pearl fashion. I hoped that he may like our designs.

I wanted to share the news with my daughter and Ruhani. Though Pearl won't be able to understand the matter, I share each of my everyday detail with her, and she shares her details of the day with me. And Ruhani, ever since her marriage, she is more like my best friend, and less like my sister-in-law.
There were many things that I shared with Ruhani only. Even at the time when I was expecting, I only had shared the news of my pregnancy with Ruhani and did all the work of telling everyone in the family about that. Even though she had lost her unborn child at that time, and that too, because of my husband, she helped me all the way during my pregnancy and supported me.
She is indeed a very sweet woman. Even now, when everyone in the family tries to convince me to marry someone, Ruhani supports me in my decision not to get married. I won't say that Grace is any less sweet than Ruhani, she is equally loving and sweet as Ruhani, but Grace stays at Bristol for around half the time of the year. So Ruhani and I are more close to each other.
As I exited the car, the driver took it to park in the parking area of the Goenka mansion, I ran the last five meters toward the main gate with all the enthusiasm that I was feeling. It was really a big achievement for me that Jackson Morgan wants to meet me, by merely seeing the designs from my catalog.
As I neared the door, I heard the excited yells of Pearl and Robin from inside, and ultimately, I smile grazed my lips. Though both of them were just four-year-olds, they sometimes enacted like grown-ups. Pearl and Robin, both are like my own children. Each time I find them, whenever I come back home and watch their innocent faces filled with love and purity, I realize that this is my real happiness.
"Hey, darling!" Ruhani said with a smile as she opened the door for me.
"Hey, moma..." Pearl's voice came with a synchronized voice of Robin, "Hey, aunty!"
