Chapter Six - Date Night

1573 Words
Sasha smoothed the blush pink knee-length halter neck dress out. She’d taken the time to do a twisted low bun hairstyle as well as applying soft tone make up to her fair skin. Her eyes shone with joy as she was excited for the evening. Lilly had told her that Ayden had arranged for dinner to be served just for the two of them on the terrace. She was looking forward to it. She had been having dinner with Lilly and Jewel ever since she had arrived. She didn’t like Jewel as much as she had hoped. The woman got on her nerves. Sasha giggled nervously as she made her way downstairs and out to the terrace. She took in the setting. Candles were lit and boutiques of pink roses everywhere gave the romantic setting. In the middle of all of it was a table set for two. She saw that Ayden was standing with his back to her. She smiled as she slowly walked up behind him, placing her hand against his back. He was wearing a black shirt and pants and he smelled amazing. “Hi,” she whispered shyly. He turned and Sasha caught her breath, he was grinning at her, in a way she had only been dreaming. “You look beautiful, truly beautiful.” He leaned down and grazed her cheek with his lips. They breathed in each other's scents. They stood like that for a moment and William, Ayden’s helper or as he referred to him as his butler, appeared making Ayden take a step from her. “William?” “Are you ready for service?” “Yes please,” Ayden moved and pulled out a chair for her. She blushed and sat down. When he was sure she was comfortable he sat down across from her. She tried not to stare at him but she couldn't help it. The evening was so romantic and his actions thus far had sent tiny shivers of delight through her body. “Are you looking forward to your training tomorrow?” “I am, being cooped up in this house, as elegant as it is, is no fun.” She giggled softly and added, “I don’t dislike your sister, but her company gets tiring.” Ayden roared with laughter. Sasha couldn’t help but join in. It was the first time she had seen him laugh and look so relaxed. “Ah, yes, Jewel can be pesky, to say the least,” “That’s one word to describe her,” they laughed again, and she decided she enjoyed seeing him this way. “Sasha,” he started seriously, “Tell me something about yourself that you’ve never shared with anyone,” Sasha frowned as she thought about this, she wasn’t one to harbor any kind of dark secrets. She had always been an open book. “Honestly, I’ve never done anything without being caught. I don’t have secrets, but I can tell you about the day my father announced that he was marrying off my elder sister, Emily.” She stopped to see his reaction and he simply nodded. She took a deep breath and started to describe the day. “It was such a normal day, we had done our chores and were talking about going for a swim when my father called her. My other sister, Felicity and I went ahead to the river. We didn’t think much of the fact that she hadn’t joined us. We knew that my father could be quite demanding when he wanted to be.” She felt the pang of loathing that she’d felt that day. Ayden seemed to sense her discomfort. “Please go on,” “When we got back to the house, my mother was waiting for us, told us to freshen up as our father had exciting news to share. My father is not one to show much enthusiasm for anything, so we eagerly went and freshened up. My bedroom was closest to Emily’s and I heard her crying. I wanted to go to her but, we aren’t that close, so I left it.” Sasha looked down, feeling guilty but she swallowed and continued.  “Felicity and my mother were already sitting in the family room. My father was standing at the fireplace, looking quite pleased with himself. I sat next to Felicity and when Emily entered the room, the tension was so bad, you could feel it. Felicity and I looked at each other, truly confused. How could there be such a terrible vibe when my mother had said that my father had exciting news.” She paused, wanting it to sink into his mind how it feels to be told you're going to be married off. “Father didn’t hesitate, going into detail about a deal he had made with a neighboring pack. That Emily was to be married to the beta named, Carl from the Blue Moon pack. I was so confused, I didn’t understand. Emily was crying and father was happy. Emily never fought, she never stood up for herself and she just accepted her fate. It was at that moment that our father said, ‘I’m glad to have daughters that can benefit the pack in this way’ as if we were just a prize to be handed out. I felt disgusted by all of it. Emily left the next morning and I saw her only once more and that was at her wedding.” Sasha held back the tears as William and Lilly approached them. Ayden quickly stood and took the two plates from them. He ushered them away and set down a plate in front of her, he sat back down and smiled apologetically to her. She looked down and smiled. The cook had prepared her all-time favorite meal of lamb, roasted vegetables and gravy. The smell filled her nostrils and her mouth started to water. “Please,” he said as he gestured for her to tuck in. They both started eating, Sasha was enjoying every bite. The lamb had been cooked to perfection and melted in her mouth. She let out a small moan of pleasure and didn’t think anything of it. She glanced over at Ayden and noticed his eyes had gone dark. She blushed and looked away, continuing with the delicious meal. He seemed to be attacking his meal and was done in no time. Sasha wasn’t far behind and as if on cue, Lilly appeared to clear away their empty plates. Once they were alone again, Ayden nodded for her to continue her story. “Two years later, Felicity was married off to Warren, alpha of the red tide pack,” she saw Ayden flinch. “Yes, well, Felicity wasn’t like Emily in any way, she fought my father for a whole week. But eventually, father put his foot down and then she was gone. I spoke to her once and she told me that she had seen Emily and that our sister was in love and happy. Mother told me later that Felicity and Warren had learned to love each other.” “How did you feel when your father told you about me?” “In a way, I should have been expecting it to happen. But I was honestly completely outraged. I guess I was very similar to Emily, by just giving in but I did give my father a mouthful first.” Ayden chuckled at this. “Ah, I just bet you did,” they then smiled at each other. Lilly approached them with dessert. Sasha groaned as she saw it was another of her favorites, chocolate and strawberry cake. They savored each sweet bite and Sasha couldn't help but feel that this night was turning out to be perfect.  "Shall we go for a walk?" Ayden asked her after Lilly had cleared away the plates. She nodded and he helped her from her seat. Slowly they began to descend the steps and follow the pathway around the grounds. They walked in silence for a while and Sasha commented on the beauty of the nature surrounding them. As much as she was enjoying the evening, she wanted to wolf out and run free. The urge to do so was growing and her wolf was pacing impatiently. "I have had a wonderful evening with you, Sasha," "Me too, hope we can do it again soon," Ayden stopped and smiled down at her. Her breath caught as he slowly leaned in to kiss her. The moment their lips touched, Sasha moaned. The sensual yet extremely hot kiss was enough to make her legs week. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her against his strong broad chest. She lifted herself up and held onto his shoulders as he slipped his tongue into the warmth of her mouth. They teased and licked each other when suddenly they heard someone clear their throat. "I am so sorry to interrupt, but there is a problem," It was Joshua, he had his gaze averted and Sasha could feel Ayden's anger. Without saying a word, Ayden kissed her cheek and left with Joshua.
