THE ANCIENT HUNT

EVERYONE GETTING USED TO THEIR PLACES

There was an heavy rain the previous night and it lasted till the break of the morning, everywhere was wet and yet clean because of the rain washing everything away. Adahy stood up from his mat in his small house, washed his face, packed his small bag which he sling on his shoulder and picked his gun which he had filled with powder then marched away from the house. He was some meters into the forest when he decided to change his route since the mountains would be slippery thanks to the rain, he turned to the left and walked down the mountains till he got to the canal flowing by the foot of the mountain and stopped there for a while. He stood there to wash his face more when he noticed something peeking out from the side of the rock, he paused for a while to see whatever it was before slowly moving closer to get a better view and by the time he walked to the side of the rock, he was shocked to find a slashed man in between the rock and the water

"What on hell is this?" he remarked as he saw the lifeless body hanging in between the rock and the canal where the water was flowing through

"Who could kill someone and dump them here?" he muttered as he moved closer and poked the body with a stick but got no reaction, he poked the body the second time and was about turning his back when the eyeballs moved within the closed eyes

"wait! he seems to be alive" he said to himself as he moved closer and touched the neck for sometimes to check his pulse

"His pulse and breathing is so low, it's such a wonder that he's alive till now" he said and grabbed him from within the rock

He put him on his back and went back to the house instead of continuing his hunt, immediately he got home, he started to treat his s***h wound

He was slashed around the chest which was deep and long, he had to get the herbs in such a large quantity so it would cover up the wound at a go. He dressed the wound, fed him herbs even though it was difficult because he couldn't open his mouth by himself so he had to help him, flamed some herbs in the fire into his nostrils and did all he could to save him from dying

The royal house had announced that they would provide everything for the town and ensured trade exchange with other towns but it was unbearable for the citizens, everything became expensive as the royal house set the price thanks to Lebby who was in charge and was the one giving advise to the king

"The treasury has to be filled, we need to make sure the royal house is strengthened and we can only do that through sufficient funds, we have to rake in funds" she commented as the petition was read to her about how things were expensive

"But you should take into consideration that the rain has ceased on the land for years now, the people are only feeding on what the royal house is providing which is unfortunately doubled the price of the initial one" Aditsan countered

"You are the minister of external affairs, your jobs is to promote and ensure smooth relationship with other towns not to set the price for trade, stop passing your boundaries" Lebby scowled at him in the meeting hall

"But my Queen, we have to put the people first" he defended and the King interrupted

"She is the queen who is in charge of importing goods and she knows best so don't counter her, just do your job to ensure a smooth relationship" the King decreed and he could no longer argue which only frustrated him the more

Ever since he had been placed in the position, Lebby had hijacked most of his duties with the remark that he was only placed there a figure head so he better behave himself

"This is tiring" he sighed as he moved out of the hall to join his assigned servant who was already waiting for him

"What is the result of the search?" he asked as they passed through the long corridor

"We have searched through everywhere in the mountain but couldn't find anyone like the person you have described" the servant reported and he sighed

"Did he got washed away by the heavy rain over there? at least his body should be found so I can give him a proper burial" he remarked with sadness as he walked away

Argan has been so busy trying to set things in place as the new king that he haven't had the time to visit Lebby properly, he finished his work that night and stood up to leave for her chambers

"I'm visiting the queen tonight and I will be sleeping over" he informed them and immediately one of the servants was sent to the queen's quarters to inform them of the king's coming

Lebby's bath was drawn and she was dressed prettily for the king who came as he had informed them previously. He met her sitting by the table filled with different mouth watering snacks and wine where she was waiting for him

"Finally you came, I thought I would sprout white hairs while waiting for my man to come over" she remarked as he came in and all the maids left the room to give them privacy, she moved closer to him and helped him out of his big and long outer robe

"You should understand that I had many things to set in place as I ascended the throne" he replied with a smile and settled on the chair opposite to hers

"You prepared so many things" he added picking up a pancake

"of course I should, my Lord is coming after all" she replied before standing up and seductively walked to his side to sit on his laps

"I even prepared myself prettily" she added licking her lips as she played with the knot holding her robe

Argan smirked at her presentation and cupped her waist to drag her to the middle of his parted leg

"I see you still know how to serve your master perfectly" he whispered in her ears as he toyed with her knot

"I already told you that I am yours master" she muttered and he yanked the knot making her robe part, her breasts was visible to him as he looked at them with lust in his eyes

She brushed his chin with her fingers before lifting it up and dived in for a kiss which Argan conveniently complied with and returned it back hotly. They made out heavily with her on his legs before they transferred their game to the bed where they kissed the night away hungrily

After having his way with her that night, she gently laid her head on his chest and they started to talk about themselves

"What do you even think of me? we haven't had any reasonable conversation even though we've gotten this far" she said and he smiled

"You are too bold for someone quiet was what I thought about you, you've caught my attention ever since my wife brought you to the house as her most trusted servant. You've played your part diligently by serving her even on the death bed and you were also the reason why I had successful meetings with those officials" he replied and she smiled

"I'm glad I was that useful for you" she stated before turning to look at him

"You do not hate me for killing your wife?" she added looking into his eyes

"Why should I hate you for taking care of an obstacle? she would have been taken care of sooner or later because she was sisters with the past king and I cannot let her live for that reason alone" he answered as he traced her collarbone making her close her eyes in pleasure

"I think our relationship will last longer since we understand ourselves so much" she muttered and he grunted before pulling her closer

"As long as we are on good terms, then surely" he said and she laid her head on his chest once again before they both fell asleep

Shael joined the maids at the quarters after her clothes has been changed and she was assigned to a room of two other girls by the head maid. She entered the room and saw them talking and laughing to the point they ignored her presence, she greeted them but they ignored her so she just went to the other side of the room to have her seat before they suddenly stopped talking and went over to her.

She sat there not paying them attention as they moved closer until one of them descended a sudden slap on her cheek making her hold it in shock

"and what was that for?" she asked looking up in shock

"Who said you could sit there? is that your space?" the one who slapped her yell and Shael scoffed

"And what happened to replying me when I greeted the both of you? you both ignored me like you didn't see anything so how dare you slap me?" she yelled back to their surprise but they didn't back down

"if we didn't reply you then you should have known that the conversation was way more important than you and should have waited till we finished so we could show you your space, how dare you touch my own space with that filthy body" the maid jumped at her and she scoffed in return

"I don't know how you treat yourselves in here but I refused to be treated like that, you are just ladies without manners so don't try to bully me" she poured out and the girls got annoyed at her statement

They were about to gang up on her without noticing the presence of other maids when the head maid showed up with her small staff

"how dare you disturb the peace of the governor? you all should follow me right now" she barked at them

"they were the ones that slapped me first, I mean how can..." Shael tried to explain but was shushed up by the head maid

"I don't think I asked for explanations, follow me!" the head maid yelled and they all followed her out of the room

She doesn't know where they are headed but one thing was certain, her stay here is going to be hell and she doesn't think she's ready to pass through something like that but let's see how it goes
