Chapter Nine

Greg’s POV “How long before we are at Blood Stone?” I asked my Beta, Jack, as we were going there for a meeting with Alpha Zane. “About another hour, sir,” he answered back. I nodded and went back to reviewing some papers I had brought with me to work on. We were going to Blood Stone because they were having issues with rogues lately and reached out to me for help. My pack is the biggest and strongest in the country, making us the most feared among the werewolf community. I have my members train hard and with a skill set of a combination of an MMA fighter and soldier. Other packs have never tried to attack us because of our ability to kick some ass in battle. My pack is based in California, in the Sierra Nevada. We flew from Sacramento to Denver in the private plane, then drove the rest of the way in a Suburban that Jason, my Gamma, rented for us. I want to help Blood Stone with the rogues, find where their base camp is, and take them out. Here lately, their activity has increased significantly, attacking packs in the western States. Every time a pack captures a rogue, they will not say where their camp is or who their leader is. Every time we ask, we get the same response, Rogue Alpha. My scouts have searched and have not turned up anything. It is like the camp does not exist. I have been an Alpha over Mountain Moon for two years now. I took over when my father retired. When I took over, our pack was one thousand members. I grew our pack up to over 2500 and is still growing. We own two companies that help finance the pack. One is a security company and the other, I contract security teams to other supernatural beings and celebrities. The companies are worth billions, and I use the money to help the pack members. For being only 23 years old, I managed to be one of the most powerful and richest werewolf in North America. For the last five years, I have been searching for my mate and Luna. Yes, I have had relationships with other she-wolves, but none of them were my mate. My wolf, Deacon, is getting anxious, wanting to be with his mate. I have been to numerous packs, looking for my mate and helping when rogues or other supernatural beings are attacking them. I am hoping that by going to Red Stone Pack I will find my mate. “I have a good feeling that she is here,” Deacon said excitedly. “I hope you are right,” I answered him. “I’m tired of being alone and need a mate to help run the pack.” My mother has been managing Luna responsibilities since I took over, but I know that she wants to retire so she and my father can spend some time together and do some traveling. My father handles everything when I am on pack business trips, and he loves to fill in when he can. “Alpha, we are here,” Jack said, as we pulled up to gates. I looked up and saw two tall, black gates at the entrance. We stopped and talked to the guards at the gate. “Alpha Greg Salyers from Mountain Moon here to meet with Alpha Zane Williams,” Jack instructed the guards. One of them mind-linked someone and then nodded at Jack. The gates opened and we drove through. We drove up the road for a few minutes before the packhouse came into view. We pulled up in the circle drive and stopped. Standing up front was Alpha Zane, his Luna, Morgan, and his Beta, Richard. I got out of the Suburban and approached Alpha Zane, hand extended. “Alpha, it is great to see you,” I said, shaking his hand. “This is my Beta, Jack Steens, and my Gamma, Jason Thompson. These are my guards, Moneo, Henry, and Travis.” “Welcome, Alpha Greg,” Alpha Zane smiled. “I hope your trip went well. We have your rooms ready, and I’m sure that you would like to get some rest and something to eat.” “That would be nice. I am hungry and would like to get settled before we start our meeting,” I responded. “Angelica will show you all to your rooms and I will have Mrs. Smith, our head Omega, send up some lunch,” Luna said. I nodded and followed Angelica into the house. I caught an intoxicating scent that drove Deacon into overdrive, a scent of citrus and cinnamon. “MATE IS HERE!” Deacon howled. “GO FIND HER!” “Not right now,” I hissed. “We just got here, and we are guests here at the pack. We will find her.” As we were going up the stairs, the scent was getting stronger. Angelica stopped at the third door and opened it up for me. My room was overtaken by my mate’s scent. Deacon was howling in excitement in my head. I need to find her soon before he takes over and tear the pack apart to find her. But why is her scent in this room? Is she an Omega? I do not care what her status is. If she is caring, sweet, and willing to help others, she is my mate. “I hope everything is to your liking,” Angelica asked me. I turned, looked at her, and nodded at her. “It looks like it is cozy,” I answered. “But I have a question. Who was in here before I got here? There is an intoxicating scent that is driving my wolf crazy.” Angelica looked shocked; her jaw dropped to the ground. “I am sorry for my reaction, Alpha. It was myself and my best friend, Tovi, who got your room ready. Tovi is your mate, and you are incredibly lucky. She is the most wonderful person that I have met. She has had a hard life because of her stepfather, but she does not let that affect her attitude towards other people,” she told me. “I just hope that you treat her well and with respect. Alpha or not, you mistreat her, me, her brother, and Corbin will kick your ass.” I started to laugh when she said that. “Don’t worry about that,” I smirked. “I have been looking for my mate for five years. I will love her and spoil her like a princess. What does she look like?” Angelica seemed happy with my response. She smiled and said, “It will be a surprise. Let’s just say that you will not be disappointed.” She bowed her head and left the room before I could answer. I smirked and went to my bag, grabbed my shower stuff, and walked into the bathroom. I took a shower to get the weariness off me. I dried off and walked into the bedroom. When I walked in, there was a she-wolf standing there, wearing a tube dress that was barely covering her ass and t**s, with too much make-up on. “Who the hell are you and what the hell are you doing in my room?” I growled at her. She smirked, walking up to me like she owned the place. “Alpha, I am Chelsea. I am Beta’s daughter. I figured I would introduce myself to you and see if we are mates. Seems like we are not. I can become your chosen and be your Luna” she said seductively, skimming her finger down my chest. I growled at her, grabbed her hand, and yanked it away from me. “Good thing that we are not mates because I would reject you immediately. I only want my fated mate, not a chosen one, and only my fated mate will become my Luna. So, I am telling you to leave my room immediately!” Chelsea laughed and started to pull her dress down to her waist. I did not like where this was going at all. I mind-linked Jack and Jason, telling them to get in here immediately. A moment later, Jack and Jason came running in, just as Chelsea rubbed herself against me. “GET AWAY FROM MY ALPHA NOW!” roared Jack. Chelsea jumped, turned around, and gasped. “Oh, more company, Alpha,” she giggled. “This will be fun.” This will not be good. Jason ran out of the room to get Alpha Zane as I was trying to get away from her. Jack snatched her arm, pulled her away from me, and wrapped her up with a blanket that was sitting on the bed. The look of disappointment on her face was satisfactory to me. A couple of minutes later, Alpha Zane and his Beta came running into my room with Jack. “What is going on here?” he said, looking at Chelsea half naked and myself standing there in a towel.
