The True Luna He Wants

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

ODETTE’s POV.

For the longest moment, the two of us stand there looking at ourselves. I am still trying to understand why he is so into me when his mate literally left a while back but part of me wants it, everything he is offering, I love it and I want it. I want everything he is giving me, the care, the warmth and everything he has to offer but my mind is split in two. How can I take another woman’s man? I have never heard where an alpha was mated to two Luna’s before.

“Please” his words jolts me out of my thoughts again and I let out a sigh.

“I have to be at the pack house” I tell him, “my help is needed”

“Let me come with you,” Malachi responds.

“No, it’s fine. I can manage”

He raises an eyebrow at me, his gaze intensifying with each passing moment.

“You are pregnant, Odette. Let me take you to the pack house and that’s final. I understand you can do it yourself but let me, I want to”

He didn’t wait for my response before making his way towards the door but stood again.

“Change into something much more comfortable” and he disappears out of the room. I just stand there looking at the door. What the hell just happened? Did he…

“No” I shake my head, “I will deal with him later. Right now I am needed at the pack house and I am going to focus on that”

Walking back to the closet, I grab a flay beige pants and a loose T-shirt. I quickly get dressed and make my way out of the room.

He is already waiting for me in the living room and I swallow hard just looking at him. He is putting on a pair of loose Jean pants and a white shirt which does little to hide his chest. His hair is pulled back in a messy bun but he looks hot..fuck.

He starts to laugh and embarrassment wash over me, why the heck am I thinking about him when he can literally hear my thoughts.

I scratch the back of my neck lightly, turning my face away.

“Why are you laughing?” I ask him.

“If you think I look hot, you should accept my proposal already” he blurts out, “all this sexiness is just wasting away, can’t you see that”

“I have no time for your jokes right now” I roll my eyes but a smirk is threatening to break out of my face, “we should leave”

“Of course, bubbles”

“What’s with all these names?”

“I love calling you that” he grabs the car keys from the table, “lets go, I want to bring you back in time so you can take some rest”

Nodding at him, we both walk out of the house and after a while, his black Ford pulls out of the compound. One thing I have discovered about Malachi is the fact that he loves his cars.

“Just how many cars do you have?”

“I don’t know” he shrugs, “but I am sure about the fact that I have more than six cars in each of the houses I own in the country”

This time around I roll my eyes, he is clearly trying to show off and I can see it.

“You show off too much, you know that right?”

“Were you keeping tabs?”

I laugh out, okay I might be enjoying his company a little too much now.

Looking at him for a moment, I close my eyes and let his image ravage my thoughts. He is exceptional and that’s the biggest truth.

None of us says anything to each other again until he pulls up in front of the pack house and we both alight.

Two of the pack warriors are standing outside the gates and they both bow the moment they see us.

“Are you guys good?” Malachi asks and the two of them nod.

“Good, be careful”

I can’t help but smile to myself. He looks mean and ruthless but he is quite the considerate one.

As soon as we enter the house, Kate and the pack healer are discussing in front of the pack house and as soon as they see us, the two of them start coming towards us.

“Good evening, Odette” Kate greets as her eyes fall on malachi for a moment, “good evening, alpha”

“How did you…..

“It’s not hard to see an alpha when you see one” the pack healer further adds.

“The pleasure is mine” Malachi tells them before turning to me, “I could wait for you if you want”

“It’s fine, you can come” it’s not like he doesn’t know everything about me already.

“Where is Zach?” Kate asks me and I swallow hard.

“He asked me to take care of her in his absence” the lies spews out of his mouth and a look of surprise hover over my face.

“You are not comfortable with people finding out yet” he says telepathically and I sigh, he understands me so well.

“Where are the injured ones?” I decide to change the subject.

“In the infirmary” Kate responds, “the amount of wolfsbane in their bodies is too much and it’s making their healing process very very slow”

She pushes open the door and the four of us saunter into the room.

Seeing how badly wounded they are, my hands unconsciously cup my tummy. I just discovered I was pregnant and I was already being protective? It’s not like I even want to keep the baby.

“Did you manage to catch the attackers?”

“Not yet but aunt Izzy has already delegated some people to find them”

Trust aunt to be swift as a bull.

“Okay, for now let’s focus on healing them”

Rolling up my sleeves, I pull out a small dagger that I always carry with me”

“We will leave you” the pack healer says and I nod before making their way out leaving me and Malachi alone.

“What are you doing?” He asks.

“Don’t ask like you don’t already know”

“I know and that’s why I am asking. Are you going to cut yourself?”

“That’s the only way I can get my blood into their wounds”

“That will be painful”

The urge to roll my eyes fill me, maybe i should have asked him to stay at home”

“That’s the only way…..” the words hang in my mouth when he snakes his hand around my waist and pull me into his embrace, a gesture that makes even my wolf a bit surprised.

“What…

“Shhhhh” he shushes me, “you know you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen right?” His words fill my ear and I find myself swallowing hard, why is he doing this now.

“You know that, don’t you?”

“I don’t have time to hear you patronize me, Malachi”

“Who says I am doing that?” He inquires before pressing a kiss on my forehead. At that moment, I feel a nick on my arm and I wince lightly.

Then he pulls away from me, raising his index finger in front of me and I can see blood on it.

“That was better” he says before pushing his finger into his mouth, sucking on it. Why did that make my whole body heats up, him savoring my blood like that.

I look down and blood is trailing down my arm,

“I don’t ever want to see you hurting yourself to heal another“ his voice is stern and I know he means it. Well, he can only tell me that if I belong to him and vice versa.

Without saying anything, I turn to them trying to push his words out of my head. It’s just for me to sprinkle my blood on their open wounds and it will heal up.

“f**k!!” I hear a little growl behind me and I immediately swerve my head to see Malachi. My jaw drops when I see his eyes tinted with the colors of red and amber. Is he about to transform? Why is his wolf suddenly trying to come out?

“Are you okay?” I ask him but he continues to stare back at me, his chest rising and falling in quick succession.

Before the next words come out of my mouth, he closes the space between us and grabs a hold of my neck and he tilts it, staring down at it and sniffing my scent. A low growl leaves his throat again as he tightens his hold on me.

“What are you doing, Malachi?”

“So intoxicating” he whispers, “ahh, mate, the urge to sink my fangs into you now and make you mine is so intense”

“Malachi, you…….

“Shhh” he presses his index finger on my lips, “don’t you feel it too?” His hot breath is fanning my face and my whole body heats up just by his words. I don’t even understand what’s going on but this man is not acting like his usual self.

“Malachi, you need to get a hold……. The words hang in my mouth when he sinks his fangs into my bare neck as a loud howl leaves both our mouths, then I start to feel it. The surge of energy, the adrenaline, his scent, his body, his heat and everything in between. This can only mean one thing…we are about to mate..
