"They won't be able to hurt you with this."
I looked at the frosted diamond-shaped vial and it was filled with a red liquid and despite it being sealed, I could smell a familiar scent coming from that vial.
The woman in a lab coat smiled as she gently rubbed her hand on my head. She had dark circles on her eyes and her complexion was pale as if she hadn't slept for a few nights but despite it, she still looked beautiful especially when she smiled.
I touched her cheek and rubbed her lower eye with his thumb. "Mom should sleep and rest after this."
She nodded and hugged him tight.
I woke up and someone was hovering above me. Even though the surroundings were a little dark the little light left on the setting sun went inside the glass window. I could see that the man above me was Tilden. I did not know when did I get on that bed from the car but I wanted to know why Tilden was above me and why we were in an unfamiliar place.
"Get off." I said.
Tilden smiled and I was surprised when Tilden instead of getting off, leaned his weight on me, lying above as he hugged me and he was suffocating me.
"Tilden!" I exclaimed as I tried to push Tilden away but he was too heavy.
"Ah, coming so soon?" Tilden whispered, his hot breath on my ears and it made me feel so mad that I wrapped my hands around Tilden's neck but before I could apply force, my vision spun and I was already on top of Tilden.
"Baby, I'm not into choking but I guess I can try." Tilden grinned.
"Fvck you, Tilden. Why won't you just let me rest peacefully?"
"Because you looked like you wouldn't wake up." Tilden suddenly said in a serious tone and I felt my skin jump when Tilden caressed my cheek.
I must have been dead tired because I did not notice when arrived and when I was carried out of the car.
"I was so happy when you threw yourself to me that time." Tilden smiled and I couldn't bring myself to choke him because I too, was glad that he was there when I was about to give my life away.
"I won't allow you to die, not when I haven't tasted this."
I jumped when I felt my ass getting groped.
This mother fvcking sexually frustrated alpha and I hated how I almost let out a sound from that sudden touch.
"Die!" I punched Tilden on the side of his face and I was about to do it again if he would not stop but he stopped moving as if he really died from that punch.
He really stayed still like a dead fish with a frown on his face.
"Don't pretend to die."
My punch was a little hard. I could even feel my fingers throbbing but he would live from that punch. After a minute, I started to worry if I knocked Tilden out because he stayed still. Did he fall asleep from exhaustion?
I grabbed his jaw and turned his head. "Hey!"
Tilden groaned when I leaned my hand on his stomach to check if he was breathing and I noticed that he had been sweating. His shirt was a little damp and the frown on his forehead deepened. I lifted his shirt and was surprised to see a dark patch on his left ribs and I was leaning my hand on that part. There was no would but it was bruised badly.
"Hey! How did you become a soldier if that punch killed you?" I got off Tilden to grab some water to wipe the sick him.
"It was painful."
I stopped when I heard Tilden mutter like a kid whining.
"What about the bruise on your body?" I asked.
I saw him smiled and opened his eyes. "It was my first time riding a shopping cart. I was overspeeding."
I sighed. It must have been that time when they came to save me.
“Thank you.” I said. I was glad they helped me when they could have a choice of leaving me behind.
“I’ll save you no matter what situation you’re in.” He said and my heart softened.
I was touched. I never thought this man was capable of saying this kind of thing.
“I told you, I haven’t fvcked you yet.”
I gritted my teeth and fought myself not to dive my elbows into his ribs.
“And I told you, your crotch isn’t going anywhere near my ass.”
Tilden only chuckled.
“I’ll go get something to wipe you.” I said and went out of the room.
The house we were in was an average one, has a living room and a kitchen. Through the remaining light of the setting sun, I saw Garrett sleeping on a huge couch, one leg hanging on the backrest of the couch.
I was glad that they chose to stay in a house because there would be necessities left by the owner.
I walked to the kitchen to get some water because it seemed like Tilden was about to have a fever. I was glad that there were water bottles inside the non-functional fridge. I filled a bowl with water and walked back inside the bedroom where Tilden was sleeping.
I searched for towels in the drawers and saw cotton handkerchiefs. I checked Tilden's temperature with his forehead and was relieved that he wasn't that hot. Tilden was a soldier and I knew that he wouldn't get a fever that easily so I tried to search Tilden, maybe something caused his fever aside from that huge bruise on his ribs.
Maybe he broke a rib or two. I thought.
My eyes caught something on his lower leg as if something was bulging on his leg. I slowly touched it and felt a cloth wrapped around inside his khaki pants as if he had a wound there.
The surroundings were getting darker after the sun was about to completely set and under the dim light, I saw the side of the pants that was torn and dried blood filled that torn cloth.
"What the hell happened to you?" I muttered as I stood up and walked outside the room to where Garrett was sleeping.
"Garrett." I called and Garrett woke up after that small noise.
"Hmm? You're awake?" Garrett said with a hoarse voice and he groggily sat up. I noticed that his upper arm was wrapped with cloth also and it was tinted with blood.
"What happened to your arm and Tilden's leg?"
Garrett was silent for a while before he cleared his throat.
"Why are you taking so long to answer? Were you two bitten by those zombies?"
