Chapter Thirteen     Sabrina’s POV   I tried playing safe and stopped myself to assume that Yael is indeed following me but the next days, I always spot his car around. Even at home. “What’s troubling you?” Xander asked as he caress my hair softly with his hand. I’m leaning on his chest and arm was on my shoulders. I shook my head and looked at my hand. This is not what I planned but Xander and I kept dating since that failed night. My libido still rises when I’m alone, and whenever… I see Yael’s car. Unfortunately, when Xander and I tried to have s*x, I seem to get dry and far from being turned on. It is weird. For me, it is. My mind was on it, that I am sure though my body won’t cooperate. Mind over matter, huh? In my s****l needs, I don’t think so. In my case, at least. “What should we do today?” I asked back to divert the topic. “Hmm…” he played with my fingers using his other hand. “What do you want to do?” I watched his huge hand on my tiny fingers. We’ve been out for a week, and in our dates, Yael was nowhere there. I am starting to think that Xander was trying to keep me by himself and avoiding Yael to see us together. Which I hate because this week is not going according to my plan. “Let’s hang out with your friends.” I suggested. I’m running out of patience, and I’m starting to be bore with Xander’s company. Xander snorted as he took his hands off me, leaning back to meet my eyes with his dubious pair. “May I ask why?” I rolled my eyes. “I bet you miss them so I’ll join you with--” “I’m happy being alone with you, I don’t need them to have fun. I know where this is going.” irritation was evident in his voice. Xander stood up, leaving me seated on the sofa alone. With lazying eyes, I watch his back as he took a few step away from me. “You just want to see him.” he said and turned to look at me. “And you knew that from the start.” His jaw clenched and I know he was not happy hearing my confirmation. “f**k, yes, I know.” “Yet, you agree to this. I don’t see what’s wrong.” Xander didn’t spoke for a moment, he just eyed me. I did not turn my eyes away and meet his. I can’t tell if there’s anger, irritation or whatever. His expression become unreadable. “What’s your plan?” he clicked his tongue. “Make him jealous? Watch him be affected with our relationship? You know you won’t get that from Yael, he ‘s a player!” I stood up. “I’m not sharing my plan with you. If you want out, the door is wide open.” I walked past him but he caught me fast by hugging me from behind. He buried his face on my neck and I remained unmoved. “What can I do to make you look at me, Sabrina…” he didn’t asked that but almost as if talking to himself. I did not respond. If that was a sincere request, all I want to say is that I wished the same. If only I can divert my… obsession or whatever the f**k this is, I will. I won’t waste my time fantasizing over a man who will break me in the end. Xander sighed and let go of me. Without looking at him, I continue walking towards the stairs. I wanted to be alone. “Sab…” he called. I stopped without turning to face him. I just waited. “I’ll message you the place.” he said and the next I hear was his footsteps followed by the door closing. A heavy sigh escaped my lips as my knees lost its strength. I fell on the floor and the tears of pity for myself did not stop running down my cheeks.   **   Xander sent me the address of where he invites me to join him and his friends but I turned it down. I’m so tired. All I want now is to take Yael off my system and its so hard. My phone rang and the caller is Xander. I denied the call and sighed as I decided to go somewhere and unwind. The place I picked was a five star beach resort half an hour away from this city. I want to be alone. My phone beeped and it was a message from Xander.   Xander: Why won’t you come over? Isn’t this what you want? : This is hard for me but still, I am trying to do anything to make you happy. : Are we okay? :Sab. Answer my call   My eyes watered and the reason was blurred to me. Why am I f*****g crying? In the end, I decided to reply to his message.   Me: We’re good. I’ll be out of town for a few days. We’ll talk once I’m in the mood. I’m sorry.   Xander: Are you okay? Where are you going? Me: When I come back, Xander. Okay? Don’t call me or I’ll block your number. Xander: Fine. Please take care. I’ll wait for you.   I sighed. I need a vacation or I’ll lose my trained hard shell and breakdown again like yesterday. “Luggage? Where are you going?” I turned my feet and found Spencer at the living room. I didn’t noticed that he has come home. “I want to have fun. Go out of town for a while.” “Where?” I’ll come with y--” “Alone, Spence.” His expression hardened and I know he will start with the nagging so I prepared every possible rebuttal to whatever he has to say. “Okay.” I paused and wasn’t able to move. “What?” Did I heard him right? “Take care, and don’t forget your meds.” he shrugged and busied himself with his phone. My eyes squinted and I did not took my eyes off him. Wait, I think I’m out of my mind. Did Spencer just… he let me go? He was over protective of me since he found out about my condition so… What the hell? It’s not like I want him to come after me but, damn, this is new. “Don’t use your tricks on me and have me followed, Spence.” I warned. He looked at me again. “I won’t. I’m busy so I can’t do anything even if I want to and you’ll just escape if I didn’t let you go so, you’re free.” My eyes are still narrowed but I nodded, slightly persuaded that he is not up to something. Oh well, at least I can enjoy a peaceful vacation on my own. “How long will you be gone?” I shrugged and carried my bag. “Days to week. I’ll call.” “Okay, don’t forget that or I’ll be on your tail.” “’Kay!”   **   Xander’s POV   “Where is Sab? I thought she’ll be here?” Jane, my sister, asked. I saw Yael looked our way in the side of my eyes. I shrugged from her question. She messaged me that she won’t come and it confuses the hell out of me. I thought this is what she wants? And yet, she said she’ll be gone for a few days? The hell? What is she planning to do? I did my best to be a boyfriend. Do things I never do to any women before. She’s special. Sabrina Montezar is too special. I’ve fallen for her since the first day I met her. That was years ago, at some business party where her family was invited. Sabrina and Spencer went in their stead. I had no strength to come near her, that time. She’s… too distant. Someone who no one can mess with even just by a glance. And there was no way I chickened out like that in my life. Girls are my favorite toy but she looked like anything but a toy to me. Now, I had a chance to. I messed up, again. Letting myself be toyed by her tiny soft hands. “Ugh! I thought she’ll be here!” “Why are you here, anyway?” I asked, squinting my eyes at her. “Jolo asked me to. He picked me up.” I narrowed my eyes at Jolo who’s pursing his lips as he busied himself with his phone just to avoid my gaze. Standing up, I slapped his hand and his phone flew. “Dude!” he chuckled. “Stop hitting on my sister.” I warned. “I’m not! She’s not my type.” he said, whispering the last words. I heard my sister gasped, taken aback on what she heard but quickly get over it. “Ew, Xander. I don’t like him that way.” she said. Jolo looked at her for a second before clearing his throat. My brow arched when I saw him stood up and excused himself. Ha! It backfired to you, you fucker! Jane walked out, too and I was left in the room with Marko who was busy on his phone about business and Yael, sitting on the window. I stared at Yael. His phone beeped and he frowned as he read something in it. Watching him, he stood up and headed for the door. “I’m going.” he said with his back facing us. I smirked. This another fucker. “Going because my girlfriend won’t be here?” He stopped walking and slowly turned his head to look at me. My jaw clenched before smirking. His expression isn’t even hiding the truth. “Take my advice and stop picking stones that you will throw at yourself.” he said with a playful smirk before continuing to head out. “Fuck.” I cursed once he was gone. Marko looked at me once Yael went out. “He’s right though.” Marko said in a shrug. “Shut up.” I said and hissed, taking my glass of liquor and gulping it down my throat.
