28 Caroline arrived at work hoping it would be a good day. She needed it to be. She was in an hour or two later than normal, having had a hospital appointment first thing. They’d done a scan to see if the heavier chemotherapy had been working, and told her she should have results within a week or so. Although she felt positive on that front, her frustrations with work were growing exponentially. With pressure from up above, and Derek Arnold and EMSOU breathing down her neck, she was desperate for the breakthrough which would let her show her superiors she was making good progress. She was thankful nothing had got into the media, other than brief mentions that two men had been found dead.
