The Ghost

A car is moving in speed in an isolated road in the night ,its raining pleasantly with occasional thunder and lighting .The doctor driving the car is humming a song in praise of the rain and his love waiting for him , he is tired as he had gone to a remote village to operate on a patient and as it was very far away from the main city it became late for him to return and the heavy rains in the village side makes the driving risky but still as there is no one on the isolated road he is driving in speed ,in few distances there are street lights but of no use as there are big tree on both the side of the road and its branches cover the lamps so visibility becomes very less. But doctor is in a  relaxed mood as he has finished his duty for the week and was planning to take his girlfriend the next day .He was thinking about her  beauty , her dedication towards him though she was not from the medical profession she knew the challenges faced by the doctors and never nagged him . He was thinking of proposing marriage to her this time so that she can live with him and his old mother at home in this way she will be close to him 24/7 he continued to sing the song of rain and meeting his girl and hugging her in the rain and proposing marriage to her in the rain as the sky will be witness for his love .when suddenly the clouds break and he could see lightning strike far away and in that lightening he saw a lady in a white gown standing right in the middle of the road he pressed the brake into a screeching halt and almost jumped from his driving seat .He turned his glass of the door and craned his head out and yelled at her for almost getting killed ,he asked her what the hell she was doing standing in the rain in the middle of the road at such a deadly hor ,she did not move she just stared at her he gestured her to move away as wanted to drive she still did not answer him now he was very angry he got out of the car and getting wet and wiping the water falls on his face he asked her softly whether she was in need does she want a lift, should he drop her to her place .The lady at last said  he can not help her in fact no one can help her ,doctor feels said for her he asks her what is her name as now he notices that she is a very young and beautiful lady she had hourglass figure when she moved her hands and lips she looked very sexy. He told her not to fear him; he will drop her safely to her house, it was not safe to be here alone on an isolated road with no traffic She smiles at him seductively and tells him you talk a lot .if you want to help me promise you will not ask me question ,he says he will not ask any question just drop her wherever she wants to be dropped .he tells her to hop in the car as she was already fully drenched in the rain. She agrees and walks towards his car before he could open his side of the door and sit she was sitting in the car next to him ,he was taken aback but just wiped his face which was wet with sweat as well as rain water .He manages to smile at her but does not ask her any personal question .He just asks her where she would be liked to be dropped she tells him just drive when the place comes where I have to get down I will tell you .Now the doctors heart rate has increased ,he is thinking did he do the correct thing by giving her lift , or should he have just driven away ,anyways being a doctor his profession tells him to help anybody in need he could not have left her on the road on a rainy night.But why would any lady come out in the night that too when it is raining and no mode of transport available there being a local she may be knowing very well.After few minutes the lady in white opens her mouth to speak and turns her head towards him ,a  chill passes down his spine looking at her though she was very beautiful she was looking as if she is very cold like a ice slab.She says you are wondering what i am doing in the middle of the night in the heavy rains  this very thoughts are going in your mind right for which the doctor just nods his head in affirmative  she laughs she says he is right but what can she do she is very busy putting everybody in the house to sleep in the day time and she gets time to come to the street only in the night to see if she can get a doctor someday .Now the doctors throat is dry he wonders and removes his kerchief  from the pocket and wipes his sweat he looks at her and asks her how did she know he was a doctor ,she smiles and tells him he stopped and asked to help her all the while for so many nights nobody bothered to stop their car they just drive away  he was the only man who dared to stop the car and offered to help her .He asks her why she wanted a doctor she tells him her father is not well and he is sick from many months she wants to treat him so that she can be free from her responsibility of taking care of others.He says how far is her house now ,she says just around the corner .he stops the car and she says yes this is the place ,he cannot see anything there no house in vicinity though the rains have stopped .she opens the door of the car and tells him to get down he is shivering with fright she says will he not help her father. Being  a doctor ,  he wipes his forehead takes his bag and gets down .He still can not see any house she tells him to follow her he follows her like a sacrificial goat not knowing where he is, nobody in the vicinity only his car lights where on .and he was following her , she walks or rather sways like a serpent and tells him to only follow her he looks around and cannot see anything around him he just fixes his eyes on her so that he does not miss her .She goes and sits on a slab and tells him to sit down he puts his torch light on the slab and that is a tomb and he is in a graveyard the torch falls down from his hand and rolls on the tomb she lifts the torch and gives it to him and tells him to stop staring at her and start treating her father who is under the tombstone he wants to run but she tells him dare he runs away without treating her father she has been trying to get a doctor from many years and he was the first one to stop to help and she will not let this opportunity go by , he begs her to spare him and he runs as fast as he can without a breath she comes flying like a kite behind her making noises and trying to catch him he still manages to come out of the graveyard opens his car door and drive away.Next day in the front page of the city newspaper a headline is printed with a photo of the doctor  . His eyes being gouged out of the socket and his car had crashed against the wall of the graveyard ,the doctor was found dead.     ,
