Okay, today's the day that I'm going to do it. I'm going to leave. Finally. After almost two weeks of being a shut-in, I'm going out.
I stared at the front door, and took a deep breath. I clutched my purse tighter to me. I don't know what I'm so afraid of. It's not like I've never been outside before. Deena is not lurking around. She would have come up here to confront me by now.
Just take the chance, Violet. Setson gave you this opportunity. Don't waste it.
I opened the door, and walked out. I locked it behind me, and walked down to the elevator. My hands were shaking as I made my way down to the lobby.
