Sia - POV
A knock on the door startled me awake. “Come in,” I said, and I noticed a maid staring at me with a set of clothes in one hand and the other holding a food tray.
“Ms.Sia, here’s the meal and some comfy cloth of your size.” She said, looking at my current state. I hid in the bedsheets as my dress was more revealing.
“Thank you... Ummm…” When I stalled, she gave me a curious look.
“Do you need anything else?” the maid asked.
“What is your name?” I softly inquired. I needed to make some new acquaintances while I awaited the opportunity to avenge Alpha Xavier.
“Liza,” she murmured, her face having no expression. I gave her a slight grin and took a cloth from her grasp, and she left the room, leaving me to go to the lavatory, which has a spacious bathtub and black-colored decor.
I took off miserable clothes and cleansed myself as I wiped my skin from all the unclean touches I had to endure in the slave trade. I found myself broken in tears, my mother’s cry haunted me as her words to run away kept playing in my head, and I couldn’t get away as I stood motionless, witnessing my mother killed in front of my eyes.
As I reflected on that day, the warm water seemed abruptly chilling the skin, and I mustered up the will to get out of the bathtub and attempt to dress in basic pajamas. Finally, after two days of no nourishment, I strolled up to the food and ate it to re-energize myself. I didn’t want to sleep in that asshole’s bed.
I looked around his room to see if I could find any information that might help me kill or harm this tyrant, Alpha. I couldn’t find anything. While snooping, I should use caution. I’ve looked in the closet and the drawers, but they’re both empty. It was a disappointment to discover nothing after all my investigation. I smashed my palm on the wall next to the picture, and the noise came out. And I removed the painting to find that there was a locker behind it.
If I touch or enter the incorrect code, Alpha Xavier will get an alarm notification on his mobile, so I can’t unlock this locker. So I placed the painting back and pressed the button next to the artwork, and the hiding wall fell back into place.
I sat down in the recliner since I was relieved to locate a locker, and I’ll figure out how to get into it later. It’s late at night, and I hug myself to ease my throbbing agony. The tears developing in the second emotional wave are returning to me.
“What does a$$hole Xavier think?” It drew my attention to a woman’s voice coming from the corridor, getting closer to the chamber.
“How come you can’t charm Xavier? Aren’t you the enchantress of enticing guys to bed?” The woman said.
“Luna Maura, I tried, but Alpha Xavier was unaffected by my powers.” The meek voice said.
“I don’t trust the damn f*****g excuse Jan… Let’s see if we can find anything in Xavier’s room.” I jumped out of the chair and sought a spot to hide because this woman, I assume her name was Maura, made me feel unsafe, and I didn’t want to be caught. So I glanced out the window, stepped out at the windowsill, and concealed myself.
“Locate things out here fast, Jan, and let me know if you find anything to our purpose.” I peeked at the ladies as they entered the room from the door. They couldn’t see me since I was standing on the opposite side of the window from where I could see them. The woman with blond hair, a light complexion, and brown eyes glanced around.
“I have discovered nothing yet, Luna Maura.” So this lady is Luna, and she looks pretty attractive. The woman who talked gently with her black hair and gorgeous tan complexion complimented her appearance, so she Jan then.
“f**k that, Xavier. He’s too clever. If I don’t get to him or the power soon...” She came to a halt and turned her head in my way. I slowly stepped away from the window on the other side and hurriedly concealed myself. I was terrified because as soon as I looked down at the height, I lost my balance and fell to the ground, breaking my bones.
“Something is the matter, Luna?” Jan’s question. Fortunately, I had gone to the opposite side of the room, and thus, I was invisible to them.
“I had the impression that someone was looking at us. I think I am hallucinating again. Let us get out of here as soon as possible. We don’t want to be caught,” Maura said. I exhaled in relief at not being caught by those two ladies; I didn’t know what would have happened to me.
I attempted to take a few short steps back to the room but could feel my exposed feet and torso frosted by the chilly air. I tried to move even though I was numb.
“Woman, what are you trying to accomplish in the Alpha Room?” As I stood near the window, I heard a voice from the ground and saw a man staring at me. While returning to the room, I didn’t dare glance at the voice. Next to the fireplace, I attempt to keep myself warm.
“ b*tch, I’m going to murder you.” It shocked me as a door slammed open, and I turned to see the same guy shrieking at me just a minute ago. In the blink of my eye, I could see a man’s hand on my neck, his brown eyes as cold as hell, and a deadly aura around him.
