SIA - POV “What are you doing?” This drunken Alpha with the frigid attitude is amusing to me. “Alpha, could you just let go of my hand,” I said coldly. Alpha looked at me. He signaled for me to sit on the bed next to him, and I knew I had no option, so I did take my seat as he let go of my hand. He smiled at me, and I thought, God, why does he have to smile at me? It makes it difficult for me to stop gazing at his wonderful face. “Don’t leave my side. Did you know how long I’ve been waiting for you to be by my side? “He replied with tenderness in Alpha’s eyes as he brushed a strand of my hair aside, and his comments made me wonder what he was talking about. Did Alpha and I meet before the war? I don’t think so. Maybe he was mistaking me for another woman in his harem. Alpha Xavier’s eyelids closed as I sighed and moved away from him in silence. If I made a sound, he would wake up and insist that I stay in his bed, which I hated. I attempted to sleep on the sofa, but sleep didn’t come. I glanced out the window at the moon, wore a jacket and athletic shoes, and decided to go for a walk and opened the window, and I could see the pipe on the side. I will exit via the Pipe because of the heavily guarded door. Thanks to my fit physique and military training back in the White Moon pack. Sliding down the pipe till I stood on solid ground. I scan my surroundings. It’s dessert after the party, and the pack members sleep at home. I noticed the forest as I walked in that direction. I breathe in peace as I feel the cool breeze on my skin. It refreshed me with the wildflowers’ aroma and the night insects’ noises. I continued my journey through the dark woodland with the moonlight guiding me. I miss my Wolf Ash whenever loneliness hits me. She is the one I could speak with, but not anymore because of a slave ring. I’m not too fond of it as I sit in the middle of the forest, resting my back on the cold tree bark and fiddling with the ring on my index finger. I closed my eyes and missed my mother and father, who adored me. I have never had a tough childhood, since my parents always looked after me. Mother and I used to bake goodies together and share baked goods with neighbors. My mother’s food was praised in the pack, and the mere notion of eating her baked goods makes my mouth water. Dad used to take me to study new combat techniques, and I learned to work with swords and archery. I preferred archery over blades, and my father believed in me when I graduated from the Academy. I was supposed to join as the pack’s omega after my father retired. At first, Alpha Silas didn’t agree, but he consented when he saw my talents and battle. But all I’ve learned has been for nothing. I wish I could have saved my mother and other pack members from their deaths. I fought hard, but I couldn’t rescue them. I opened my eyes to find Alpha Xavier, who had crouched and stared at me as if he had met me for the first time. It jolted me, and I wanted to speak, but dread stifled my words that he might yell at me or smack me. The dream bewildered me, and I didn’t know how to respond. “Alpha Xavier.” His finger came to my cheeks and wiped away the tears. I didn’t realize I was crying until he wiped my tears. “I am not a Xavier woman.” He coldly said. His statements perplexed me, and his eyes had a wicked shine that made me cringe. “Alpha Xavier, I only came here for a walk; I didn’t plan to flee if you..” His fingers came to my lips to stop me from speaking, and he seized my other hand in his and fidgeted with the slave ring. “So you’re a slave.” He examined my wrist; He looked at my other hand, which had my pack’s half-crest symbol and pack name written on it. These tattoos are given only to the Beta and Omega of the White moon pack. “Intriguing… “ he muttered. “Alpha Xavier,” I whispered. “Women, stop talking! I am not Xavier; he is my identical twin brother. My name is Reo.” I couldn’t fathom what he said. “You’ve had too much to drink and are spouting nonsense,” I mumbled under my breath, and when he heard it, a grin appeared on his face. The footsteps of a guard approached. “Find Reo. I am sure he couldn’t have escaped this pack.” When he heard the guards’ murmur, he grinned even more evilly, like a lunatic. “You have sparked my attention, strange woman. Can you tell me your name before the guards capture me?” His fingers came under my chin, and his stare terrified me. “Sia…” He caressed my cheeks, and I had chills all over my body. “He’s right there.” The guards yelled, and all of them seized him. The guards handcuffed Reo with magic shackles, and Reo remained gazing at me even as the guards forced Reo to move away from me. “Who are you?” As they hauled Reo away, the guards inquired me. “I am a slave, Staying with Alpha Xavier.” The guard inspected me. “Oh, she is the concubine of Alpha Xavier, who brought tonight’s party.” The other guards said. “Ms, please allow me to take you back to the packhouse; staying in this forest with Reo is risky.” I nodded and followed the guards standing at the chamber entrance, where the guards looked at me, startled to discover me standing outside the room. Alpha Xavier opened the door with tired eyes, and his toxic state faded when he saw the guards and me. “Sia, you should have been in the room. Where did you go..” He inquired. I didn’t reply to him. “Where did you find her?” He asked the guards. “Alpha, we discovered Ms. in the woods. We captured Reo, who attempted to flee the jail, and discovered him conversing with this Ms.” Alpha Xavier’s eyes were filled with rage. “Call Nas right now; increase the security to the maximum level at Reo’s Prison.” He ordered the guards. Taking my hand, he led me inside the room. “What were you thinking about sneaking out of this room?” He roared. “ I just wanted to take a short walk and return,” I said calmly. Alpha Xavier examined me from head to toe. “Did he do you any harm?” He asked. “No,” I answered, taking a few long breaths. “Reo is my brother; don’t get near him, or you’ll get it.” His speech had a sense of urgency. The knock made Alpha Xavier pause; Naswalked and stepped in. “What is the problem, Alpha?” Nas inquired. “Reo attempted to flee. Weren’t you behind it?” Alpha. While I sat in the recliner and stared at Alpha and Nas, Xavier let out an angry roar. “That wasn’t me, Alpha.” Alpha Xavier scowled at Nas’s response. “Then, when I asked whether you handled the traitor, you responded yes, implying that you intend to support that traitor in the end.” Nas dropped his head at the rage of Alpha’s animalistic roar. “Alpha, I will give my life to set things right to show that I will not betray you again,” Nas said. “Your life is of no value to me. What happened can’t be undone. Your life can’t do anything to heal it, Nas, and you know that.” He growled. “I am sorry for the sin I have committed, Alpha. Please give me a chance, and I will do this right. I will torture Reo and not let him stand on his legs again.” Alpha Xavier nodded, but it still filled his eyes with rage. Nas left quickly and gave me a slight glance before he left. Could it be Alpha Xavier wants the Alpha title for himself, but by now, he could have murdered Reo, so why did he keep him alive? After all, Xavier is a dictator who kills people to gain power and then abuses that authority. “Go to bed and rest and not on the couch.” I obeyed his command since I didn’t want to annoy him, and he sat on the armchair, rubbing his palm over his face; I felt Alpha Xavier’s unsettling composure as I peered through my blanket. “If you don’t shut your eyes, Sia, I will join you beneath the blanket and do much more.” He stated, I slid myself beneath the blanket that he left, which still had a scent of Alpha Xavier, and I felt sleep finally coming to me.
