“Alpha, a Pack, is requesting your presence.” the Guards spoke out. Before, Alpha and the Priest could say anything more.
“Priest will discuss this later,” Alpha Xavier said. We all three proceeded outside to the moon shrine. The pack members stood in the shrine. Alpha walked up to the altar along with the priest doing magical rituals on the coffin. I could see some people staring at me, but I didn’t let it bother me. Earlier, I would have been afraid of unexpected stares, but not now.
I saw glimpses of Alpha Xavier’s eyes on me from time to time. He peered at me to know whether I was comfortable. At his thoughtfulness, I felt warm and fuzzy inside. After the funeral ceremony, each Pack member gave Alpha their condolences one by one.
“Alpha, I’m going to check on Jia,” I murm
