Episode 9

SUSPECT IV : RUBY ROSE(PART 2)

"Kim we can talk it out."

Ruby was trying to come off as sweet but that was because I had something on her, I'd seen this act before it was the best weapon in her artillery, flattery. She used to screw me over before and take Zach away and I still hadnt forgotten even if I didnt outwardly show it.

"Why should I with everything you've done to me it is incriminating maybe the sheriff might have a lead with it."

Toying with her brought a satisfying pleasure within me and her panicked expression was savouring.

"Is it an apology you want look I'm sorry for what I did we were drunk and what happened did happened I didnt want to hurt Kayla."

What a liar.

She moved closer to me placing her hand on my shoulder as she tried to win over some sympathy. I moved away keeping my distance, she tried following me like a puppy but I blocked her with my hand and told her to keep off, she obeyed and moved back. It was fun seeing her without her snarky queen bee attitude, all of it broken down. It took me back to the day I got home after Ron gave me the video, I was so eager to know what he was trying so hard to hide. I wondered what it was, what he did to Kayla that was so horrible her crazy ex almost beat the crap out of him. As much as I wanted to speculate I also dreaded finding out a secret that Kayla found so bad and terrifying she couldnt confide in me. Opening the video the first that I saw was Kayla staring directly into a phone camera.

"Is this thing on ooh Woow I feel like throwing up where is RJ I wanna go home."

I laughed watching a drunk Kayla fumble about with her phone in hand, too out of it to realize she was recording herself. I remembered the party she was at, it was three weeks ago Aaron Coy's birthday party. I didnt go thanks to my cousin's wedding but from what I heard it was a rave and seeing it through Kayla's camera lens i couldnt deny it with music blasting and a crowded room full of hormonal wasted teenagers humping each other like there lives depended on it while others were running wild and shouting profanities.

"RJ RJ where is he."

"I saw him go upstairs," a voice sounded but the camera didnt get the face.

Kayla said thanks and wobbled about the noisy room, it was funny seeing stumble get up and half walk half drag herself across the house. How she was able to hold on to her phone was a mystery to me.

"Hey gorgeous you lost I can be your knight tonight."

"f**k off!" She screamed as she pushed the approaching guy away, I got a glimpse of his face but couldnt make out who it was since it was a quick movement and was left looking at his pants.

"Dont be like that this could be the start of something beautiful," he said as Kayla continued moving away from him.

"Back off man that's RJ's girl you wanna get a beating," a another voice sounded and the guy let off his advancements.

She continued walking about aimlessly for two minutes as I laughed at her funny fall downs and interactions. I started wondering what was scandalous with the video and what got Eric riled up and Ron fearful but I was only halfway through and I continued watching.

Kayla managed to make her way up the stairs in one piece without help and started banging on doors.

"Open up RJ you promised to take me home," she continued hitting the locked door but after no response she went to the next one and opened it with her hand holding the phone raised up.

It was the wrong choice as the camera took a good three second shot of a totally nude Ron and Ruby doing the dirty on the bed. Kayla dropped the phone immediately the alcohol most certainly knocked out of her system and I finally knew what got Ron scared. The rest of the video was just a dark visual of the floor with Kayla crying and shouting at Ron who was trying to come up with a good excuse as audio.

I researched the video a couple of times focusing on the last part and I realized Ron's 'dance partner' was Ruby. Angry wasnt a good enough term to describe my feelings in that moment, I was never one to openly show my moods but I was as emotional and empathetic as any other girl and when it boiled over it showed. I yelled out in anger, frustration, sadness and hate, todd and mum were surprised by my reaction. How could they both of them especially Ruby. After all she'd done to screw me over and snatch Zach away she just left him to go play with a new toy, if she was near me that night I would have strangled her. But now that we were alone in the woods the fire had died down and was coming back soon, she was pretty ballsy to approach me knowing what I knew maybe she was stupid enough to believe she could sway me. Anyway I had already made my decision on what to do with it.

"You're only saying that because I have something against you."

"No I truly mean it I swear," she looked genuinely sad but I knew better than to believe her crap.

"Look just leave me alone your apology wont work."

"Then what apology do you want Zach I'm sorry for that too I hurt you badly and I didnt think about the consequences."

She was going into dangerous territory, I was slowly getting mad my fist clenching and unclenching as I drew closer to the edge.

"Zach's a good guy I like him alot Ron doesn't mean a thing to me it was a mistake I f**k up sometimes and..."

She was cut off when i slammed her against the tree and she went crumbling down to the ground. I had heard enough, I tried to be civil but I couldnt control myself any longer. She only cared about herself, she screwed me over, Zach, Kayla and even Ron as long as it suited her.

She screamed out in terror but I didnt move on her standing in place as I looked down on her in pity. I had changed my mind I was going to ruin her life. What comes around goes around.

"You know what Ruby you're right people do make mistakes and thanks to the internet it gets shared and people shame them tomorrow is going to be a s**t show for you," I smiled at her and walked off without looking at her as the entire search team came running at us.

"Nice one Kim I knew you wanted a piece of her," Anita said as she laughed watching a crestfallen Ruby on the ground.

Zach was the first to reach her helping her stand up, his heart would be crushed by all this but he too left me no choice if he was to suffer like I did it was for the best. Kayla always told me that i was too passive and people would run over me if I stayed silent, today was an awakening deep within me and a new feeling I was yet to describe was rising.
