Chapter Seventeen ~April 4~ Bee fussed over Bel’s dress even more than usual the following evening. She was wearing her best new evening gown, a cream-colored silk with a white lace overdress. It brought out the richness of her red hair without making it look garish and emphasized her peaches-and-cream complexion. Creamy strands of pearls were laced through her hair and single pearls adorned her ears. She even had a pearl pendant hanging on a pretty, slender gold chain around her neck. Bel swatted her sister’s hand away from her dress. “All right, Bee! That’s enough,” she snapped. Bee stepped back in surprise. “I’m sorry, I just want to be sure you’re looking your best. Lord Conway, Lord St. Vincent, and a number of other gentlemen are going to be there—all to see you.” “I know! You d
