Chapter 2

Her POV

"AAH! Aah! Aah! s**t! f**k! Oh! Ugh, ugh! Faster, baby, please . . . ah! You're making me crazy, faster, please. I'm almost there! f**k me harder, push harder, please. Aah! Aah! s**t! You're so damn good, baaaaaby!"

I was covering my ears the whole time. I was supposed to be here in Ely's unit to share with her my excitement and how Mikael proposed to me last night. I am maybe a virgin, but I wasn't that innocent to not know what was happening next door.

I was totally annoyed with the chaos, but Ely just laughed it off. She was having fun hearing the moans and, at the same time, watching me rant.

Just a moment ago, we heard them having an argument, and that Ian Somerhalder lookalike was knocking on her door a million times. We heard him apologizing and begging the girl inside to let him in, but after half an hour, it was already the girl begging him. Napairap ako.

"Are they always like that?"

"I don't know! Honestly, this is the first time I heard them. Well, you know, I was always out of the country." She was still laughing. "Why are you even covering your ears? "You’re gonna eat your words, but before your words iba muna surely ang kakainin mo o kaya ikaw ang kakainin ni Mikael." She was really enjoying making fun of me.

"Are we really friends?"

"Darling, that's why there are what you call best friends." Nadala na lang din ako sa tawa niya. Yeah, right, we're best friends.

Sa pagdaan ng mga araw ay naging busy na kami ni Mikael sa preparasyon ng aming kasal. We have already decided kung sino ang kukunin naming coordinator. We already talked to her about what kind of wedding we like, kung ano’ng motif at kung magkano ang budget for the whole wedding preparation and when the wedding would be. Napagkasunduan naming it will be six months from the day we were engaged. She already plots schedules of when the food tasting will be, pagsusukat ng gowns at suit, prenup at iba pang kakailanganin sa wedding.

Today is our schedule to meet our photographer and videographer. Since Mikael was so busy with his business, naisipan kong ako na ang susundo sa kaniya sa kaniyang opisina. Tuloy-tuloy akong pumasok sa pagmamay-ari niyang building. Everyone I met along the hallway greeted me; they all knew me as Mikael's girlfriend, and I greeted them back.

Sumakay ako ng elevator at pinindot ang floor ng opisina ni Mikael.

Pagkabukas ay naglakad ulit ako. Nadaraanan ko ang mga cubicles ng iba pang mga trabahante ng fiancé ko. Again, they all greeted me. May nahagip pa akong nagbulungan habang nakatingin sa akin, nagulat naman ang mga ito at yumuko nang mapadako ang tingin ko sa kanila. Nasa pinakadulo ang opisina ng chairman, Mikael's office.

Sa labas ng opisina ay wala ang sekretarya nito na si Denise. Tuloy-tuloy akong pumasok. Tinulak ko ang pinto ng kaniyang opisina, natigilan ako nang makita ko si Denise sa gilid ng inuupuang swivel chair ni Mikael. Bahagya itong nakayuko at may inilalahad na documents sa kaniya, hindi napansin ng dalawa ang pagpasok ko. Pinagmasdan ko si Denise na busy sa pag-explain kay Mikael tungkol sa ipinakita nitong dokumento, halos lumuwa na ang dibdib sa suot nitong tube na pinatungan niya ng blazer.

Her voice was so seductive. Nagbiro si Mikael, tumawa si Denise at hinampas niya sa braso si Mikael.

"Ikaw talaga, Sir! Puro ka na lang kalokoh—" Tumikhim ako upang maagaw ang atensyon nilang dalawa, pareho silang nagulat nang makita ako. Si Denise nama'y napatuwid ng tayo, she greeted me. Hilaw itong ngumiti sa akin.

Denise excused herself to us bago lumabas ng opisina.

Inilagay ko sa kaniyang balikat ang isa kong braso. Kinuha naman niya ang isa kong kamay at hinalikan. "You missed me?" lambing nito.

Kakaiba ang nararamdaman ko sa nabungaran kong eksena kanina, but Mikael being so sweet, swept all of the doubts I felt a moment ago. Naisip ko na lang na I shouldn't feel jealous because it's me he chose to spend the rest of his life with.

His POV

"TANGINA, p’re! Ang hirap! Nawawalan na nga ako ng time kay Gly, muntikan na nga niya akong hiniwalayan dahil nalimutan ko ang anniversary namin. E, sa sandamakmak na libro at training ‘shits’ na pinapaaral sa akin ni Daddy! Alam ninyo minsan naisip ko sana naging bunso na lamang ako!" I have been drinking with my closest friends since high school and here I am ranting about me as the future SFD President.

"Gly loves you, she probably understands. You know, Gly will understand Rick and will stay. Basta ‘wag ka lang magloko." It was Jaslen, she was serious when she said those words, maybe it was based on what she experienced on her ex.

"Magloko? That will not gonna happen. Tapos na ako sa ganiyang stage."

"You're just 24 years old, Rick, you're still gonna meet a bunch of beautiful ladies with different flavors." Coming from the famous playboy—Cale Adrianne Montefalco. "Itong si Adriann—"

"Ano?" binara naman ni Adrianne si Kevin. Hindi nakapalag si Kevin dahil katulad ni Adrianne ay papalit-palit din ng babae si Kevin. Just tonight, the two didn't bring women dahil napagkasunduan sa group chat na exclusive lang muna naming magbabarkada ang gabing ito. Gladly, Gly was out of town and she'll be back in the next two days. After that wild day on her condo, bumalik din kami sa dati. She already forgave me.

"Hoy! Mas matanda pa rin ako sa ‘yo. Kaunting respeto, Miggy! Isumbong kaya kita sa crush mo?" Napangisi si Adrianne. Napatingin ako kay Gabby na walang kaalam-alam na siya ‘yong crush na sinasabi ni Migs.

"Balik tayo sa ‘yo, Jerick. Masasanay ka rin at si Gly, maiintindihan ka n’yon." Tinapik ni Justine ang aking balikat.

"If Gly won't understand you, then she's not worthy of your love. You should also know your priority, Rick; it should be your future first, so you may be able to provide a better future to your soon-to-be wife," si Jaslen.

"At isa pa, you should learn it the hard way, Rick, so you may be able to give your heart and sympathy to SDF. Kasi if basta na lamang ibigay ng daddy mo ang position tapos ‘di ka man lang nagbanat ng buto, ‘di mo matututunang pahalagahan ang SDF," si Justine ulit.

Napatango-tango ako sa sinabi ng kambal, it really makes sense. I'm just so glad I have friends with whom I can share my problems, kahit ‘yong iba palamuti lamang. Joke.

"By the way, where do you like to spend our summer this year?" Justine changed the topic. Oo nga, three months from now summer na, ang bilis ng panahon parang kailan lang kace-celebrate lang namin ng Christmas at New Year. Since high school, we always spent our summer together. "Oo nga. Malayo ang b’yahe, but worth it," I second the motion to Gab's suggestion.

"Okay lang sa 'kin. I'm with someone on that day," nakangising saad ni Kevin. Well, as usual ‘di naman ‘to nawawalan ng kapareha.

"Call ako r’yan. I'm also with someone," si Adrianne.

"Wherever Gab's going," si Nathan.

"Ako rin," si Migs.

"Meaning wherever Gab’s going also?" asar ko kay Migs. He just raised his middle finger at me.

"So, it was agreed that we will spend our summer at our beach resort. Mark your calendars now and free your schedules. Kukutusan ko ang absent," Justine cut them off again. He was like the big brother. I followed Justine, kinuha ko ang phone at cl-in-ick ko ang calendar icon. I marked the dates na napagkasunduan upang ‘di ko makalimutan.

Palalim na ang gabi. Napaparami na rin ang nainom namin. Napuno na ng asaran at halakhakan ang buong paligid ng VIP room na pina-reserve ni Adrianne. He owns the bar. A'choholic.

Somehow, having my high school friends around lessened the heaviness I felt inside. We are each other’s comfort zone.
