Evelyn shrieked in horror the moment she felt a warm and soft hand on her right breast.
At first, she tried to ascertain if it was merely a dream or hallucination that came because of how exhausted she was. However, the figure slightly shifted and that made her realize that this was anything but a dream.
She jerked up abruptly, with beads of sweat trickling down her forehead and her eyes looking around the dark like a torchlight.
The intruder yelped almost immediately, seemingly startled by her state of unrest. And in a split second, the light she had earlier turned off was flipped on, giving the room an intense illumination that got her blind for a minute.
Evelyn blinked her eyes that got bleary after the sudden exposure to the bright light. She stared towards the door and found four masculine and breathtaking figures, standing by the door, with curious looks on their faces.
She gulped down hard and shifted uncomfortably on the bed. It was finally beginning to dawn on her that she might have entered the wrong room because of how tired she was.
“Oh! Pardon me… I suffer from night blindness and that gets me into places I’m not supposed to. This was a mistake, I hope you understand”, The one who had mistakenly touched her breast apologized, with his hands clasped together.
Evelyn nodded calmly. Her heart was beating out of her chest as she tried to think of how it was possible that she was in a room, with four handsome godlike figures who looked identical.
“Hello!” The same one who had just apologized said, with a wide smile on his lips.
Evelyn forced a smile to her face too as she slowly shifted her gaze to the other three, who still stared at her as though she weren’t existent. She wondered who they were because her mother never mentioned anything relating to four handsome guys…apart from the sons of the Lycan King…
Wait! What?
Her eyes popped out of the sockets as it dawned on her- it was them.
Almost immediately, she was jolted out of her thoughts by an utterance made by the only one who had talked to her so far.
“Mate!” He yelled out of his lungs, and immediately, her heart skipped a beat.
Evelyn felt a cold shill run down her spine that instant. Her breaths became heavier as she gazed at him.
Another voice interrupted her thoughts and for a minute, she thought that she had heard wrongly.
“Mate!” The second one yelled.
This caused Evelyn’s body to shake fervently. She shivered as goosebumps made their way to her skin. This was like a dream, a dream she was yet to ascertain if it was good or bad…
And then, the third screamed too..
“Mate!”
Evelyn's stomach churned and twirled. Her heart raced with sudden excitement and abruptly, there was a tingling sensation that enveloped her. She was attracted to the three of them, and this caused those weird feelings.
“How about the fourth?” She asked herself as her eyes shifted to the last one, who remained quiet and clearly uninterested in whatever it was that had just happened.
He walked out of the room, without uttering a single word. This got her more confused and puzzled.
“Why was she mated to the three of them, and not him?” She asked herself inwardly as her heart raced in uncertainty and wonders.
She craved to know if she was mated to the four of them and this, she swore to do at the first glimpse of daybreak.

Evelyn opened her eyes the moment she felt the rays from the sun falling directly on her face. She grumbled in her sleep as she made to get more sleep.
Memories from the last night slipped into her head and caused her to jerk up immediately, with every bit of sleep making way out of her eyes.
A smile curved on her lips as she reminisced on the previous night event.
Who would have known that she would find her mates in a place where her mother planned to wed?
The smile on her lips transited into a massive frown when she recalled the identity of the boys. They were the sons of the Lycan King- the popular and handsome godlike figures everyone featured in their magazines. She had only known them from afar and never paid attention to their names or any personal information about them.
But then, how would she be mated to her supposed step brothers?
Her mother had called her early yesterday the moment she got done with a hectic surgery, with the information about her wedding that was scheduled to hold in a few days time.
Evelyn was shocked that for a minute, she laughed over it and shoved it aside as a mere joke coming from her mother. However, after careful observation, she realized that her mother was dead serious. It pierced her heart when her mother divulged that she was getting married to the Lycan King and that moment, Evelyn turned down the invite.
“I need to see you! We should use this moment and have a bond again as mother and daughter. It’s been a long time”, that was the single statement that made Evelyn have a change of heart and embark on the long journey to meet her mother.
When Evelyn arrived in the city, she worked with the directions her mother had given her and thanks to the help offered by someone, she found her way to the palace.
She had been informed that the boys weren’t around presently, and she would be meeting them officially during breakfast the next day.
Who would have thought that she would even meet them before breakfast time?
Her heart thumped heavily and with a soft groan, she got off the bed and sauntered towards the dresser.
She sat down on the chair and glared at her reflection on the mirror, trying so hard to think of a decision to make.
She was attracted to all of them, but she was an abomination to the Lycan world and her life would be endangered if anyone got to know who she really was…
Evelyn sighed again as she placed her hands on her forehead and slouched into the chair. She thought of telling her mother about it, but shoved it aside when she couldn’t think of how her mother would react to such information.
Just then, a knock on the door jolted her out of the present thoughts.
“It’s time for breakfast”.
