Rachel couldn’t remember the last time she had laughed so much and so hard. William was funny. He appeared the businessman, but he was a down to earth, funny storyteller and knew some pretty dirty jokes. She was glad she had asked him out. After the stress of the past twenty-four hours and the horrible meeting with the lawyer, she had needed this. Despite her having a good time, her thoughts kept straying toward Adam. She wondered what he was doing and if he was missing her, which was foolish. They had just met again last night. He wouldn’t be missing her yet, but it didn’t stop her from missing him. She thought she could fill his void with another man, and if she wasn’t half in love with Adam, this might have worked.
