Chapter 2: Cruel World (2) *** "Kisaaa!" The uncle's voice sounded from the closed door in the back. He sounded a bit distressed, as if he was calling out for help. "I'm coming!" Kisa replied in a rather tired sounding voice. "I wonder what mess he got himself in this time..." he muttured quietly to himself as he headed to the back. When he got to his uncle, he saw the man trying with all his strength to hold up a huge standing shelf and mostly succeeding. "Could you please help me put it back up? I feel like my knees are going to give out..." The uncle said as he turned to his nephew with a pleading look in his eyes. Being a Beta himself, he wasn't the strongest of the bunch. "Sure..." Kisa sighed as he approached the man and used both hands to push the shelf up. "Come on, get out of there..." He said as he turned to the uncle, who was as if in a daze after seeing his nephew's strength. "No matter how many times I see it... I always end up being surprised just how strong you are for an Omega!" The uncle remarked as he took a step back and watched as Kisa put the shelf back in place and turned to glance at him once more. "Uncle... isn't it that you're simply too weak? It has nothing to do with being an Omega or whatever..." Kisa remarked as he sighed once more. He hated it when his uncle mentioned him being an Omega, it always felt like that 'compliment' was a back-handed insult, even though he knew his uncle wasn't the type to actually make fun of him. "No, no... you know there are clear differences in physical strengths between us... That's something no one can really deny, but it's really amazing to see someone defy the norm, you know?" The uncle tilted his head to the side as he smiled at his nephew. "You really are amazing... just like your mother was..." "Could you not mention her?" Kisa clicked his tongue as he turned his back to his uncle. "I don't really want to be praised for being like her..." The uncle took a step back. "What are you talking about?!" He sounded genuinely stressed when he heard those words. He followed after his nephew, who seemed completely disinterested in the conversation. "Your mother was a wonderful Omega! One of the kindest and most genuine people out there-!" He said with a strong voice, not his usual soft spoken tone. "Yes, and she was also a very obedient wife and did whatever her Alpha told her too... the same Alpha that couldn't bear to look at me after her death, the same Alpha that abandoned me after finding out I was an Omega." Kisa shot back as he began reorganizing the new parts they had delivered that day. Moving to the store front, the uncle had a disappointed look on his face. "Do not judge your mother for what she did..." He said with a stern tone. "She did whatever she needed to, to survive and give you a good life..." "Well it wasn't enough apparently... it was because of her 'kindness', what nowadays we call 'naivety' that she ended up the way she did... by the hands of an Alpha no less..." Kisa said as he looked down at the parts he was rearraning. Suddenly, he felt something coming at him at great speed. He turned around and dodged it quickly. His Uncle had thrown a small rubber ball aiming for his head. "You don't get to say that about her..." He said in a low voice as if he was scolding the man. "I haven't taught you to be so disrespectful to people..." Kisa knelt down and picked up the rubber ball then stood up. "You..." He said with a small pause, then threw the ball back to the man. "...haven't taught me anything at all..." He said while looking at him with rather serious eyes. His Uncle closed his eyes for a bit as he caught the ball in his hand. "I'll go take Lucy out for a walk..." He said as he headed though the other door which was behind him. It took him upstairs to their apartment with was right above the junk shop they owned, the entire building was theirs, which consisted of three floors in total. The junk shop being on the first one, the Uncle's living space being on the second and finally Kisa on the third floor. Kisa watched his Uncle leave and then went back to putting reserved parts in separate boxes for clients. 'It's not like I hate mom... but she would have still been here alive and well if she wasn't such a good person...' He thought to himself as he clenched his fist. His mother had died at the frail age of 32 years old, killed by a prideful Alpha who's advances she rejected multiple times. It was a late night, where the woman had taken her then 7 year old son Kisa out to dinner since her husband wasn't going to be back home that day. It was a special day as well, Kisa's 7th birthday... It would have been only a few years later when they'd uncover that he was an Omega. They were cornered in the parking lot... Kisa's mother, used what little strength she had left to protect her son and give him enough time to runaway. Kisa ran as fast as he could to reach the nearest policeman patrolling the street, but by the time they had gotten back there to her... it was already too late... she had passed out with choke marks over her neck, her lifeless body laying on the ground. She had always been a kind natured woman and a person who wasn't too firm in her speech, which made many people think of her as a pushover... And because she had rejected that prideful Alpha's advances, he had decided to harm her pride as well... however it had gone too far... When he'd gotten his hands on her, he didn't stop at just choking her, it ended her life that day... The mother being a strong Omega wasn't enough to fight off someone that was born stronger than her from the get go... She fought as much as she could but it wasn't enough... and Kisa's father, her husband wasn't there to protect her either... So she was on her own... What's more the court had settled that it was a 'crime of passion' and that the wasn't in the right state of mind. Thus they let him go soon after the case had been closed... That's the day that Kisa swore he would never be able to look at Alphas the same way... 'Her kindness was nothing but a weakenes... when dealing with those lowly scum you have to be firm and get rid of them quickly... That's why I promised to be nothing like her... I won't have any sympathy for Alphas and I will never trust one in my entire life...' Kisa thought to himself as he heard the all too familiar ring of the door behind him. A client had just entered the store...
