Wilona's POV
I wonder why he is growling in my head. It is not like I killed anyone today.
I found his office door opened, and I walked in. At last, he is alone.
“Is that how you present yourself in front of your Alpha?” He asked, looking me up and down with a grimace on his face. I sat on the chair as he was sitting on the windowsill.
“No, dad.” I replied while staring into his small prominent eyes that have the darker shade as mine. He cleared his throat and walked to his chair in front of me at his desk.
“First lesson of being an Alpha is stability, followed by vigilance and accountability. With all of those combined, you become quick in decision making and the first to respond to any danger, whether big or small.” He opened his drawer and taking out a small old book.
“I thought I needed to work on my strength before learning the rules of Alphas.” I said casually, and he snarled.
“Do you want to rule this province or not?” He asked, irritation laced in his every word. I nodded my head. “As of today, you will spend seven hours of the morning with me, and be warned that I will not tolerate the s**t you pulled this morning.”
My eyes widened. “Dad, seven hours with your grumpy face? Can’t you let Amedeo or Luca train me?” I looked away with a frown.
“Your uncle will be soft on you, and Luca has other responsibilities in the pack.” He said and dismissed me. “Next time, wear presentable clothes when you move around the territory.” He yelled behind me as I close the door with a hard click.
I walked to my room and found mom fast asleep. I took a blanket covering her slim, tall figure. Why did I have to look like my dad?
‘That is an unfair question to ask, don’t you think?’ Aiyana said.
I sighed and walked to the bathroom to shower. I put on my simple clothes.
Mom’s cute face was watching me as I walk into the room. “You look troubled. What did your father say?” Mom asked as she put on her shoes.
“He is spending his mornings with me to make sure I don’t repeat the stunt I pulled this morning.” I shrugged while tying the lace on my sweatpants.
“Let me take you out shopping. It is a beautiful afternoon, and I could use some advice for the children at the orphanage. Are you up for it?” She asked as she held my shoulders and staring into my eyes.
“I guess it would keep my mind busy.” I avoid shopping as much as I can, especially with mom, but because she is buying for the little ones, I cannot miss it. I would not be getting too many dresses I do not need.
“Yay, I will call Amedeo to accompany us.” She clapped her hands in excitement, then suddenly she frowned. “But I am worried about your raised heart rate. It’s beating abnormally fast right now.” She pointed at my neck. “Your vein is jumping a lot since you came back from the waterfall.”
“My heart is fine.” I said, then I felt a bundle of nerves. “How did you know I was there?” She chuckled, waving her hand as she walked out of the room and I followed her to the car.

‘Come on, your teeth are your biting force. Use them!’ Dad yelled in my head as I pin Edgar’s red wolf down.
I bared my teeth, warning him to surrender, and he cowered. Moving away from him, I shifted. I waited for everyone to leave, then I looked at my father. “Dad, I can’t bite them. Unless you have a malicious wolf that wants to attack our territory, then I will gladly bite it to death.” I said as I grab a shirt and leggings from the ground then put them on.
“There is a teleconference in two hours with the alphas. Go eat breakfast, then be in my office.” He said, then walked away.
I sighed, wandering out of the gymnasium.
‘You know that you always have a choice not to do as he tells you to do?’ Aiyana spoke with irritation.
I rubbed my temple, feeling a throbbing pain in my head. ‘We have to, otherwise, he will punish us.’ I replied, stepping into the kitchen. Mom and Uncle Amedeo leaned on each other and whispering. “What is the secret?” I asked as I sit and took a bowl of oats from the countertop.
“I do not know what you are talking about,” Mom replied with a smirk and watching me with narrowed eyes.
I rub my temple again. Feeling the pulsing in my head mimicking my heartbeat.
“How was the first training with Alpha Kai?” Uncle Amedeo snickered, and I raised my eyes from my bowl and glared at him.
“It was horrible. Why can’t you convince him? I mean, you are a gamma with alpha blood and you’re qualified to train me?” I exclaimed in annoyance. Dad walked into the room and brushed his lips on mom's cheek, then sat on his chair.
“I thought we settled the matter, Wilona.” He spoke while grabbing a bowl of fruits salad.
Our pack does not have a packhouse and everyone lives in their homes. Since my dad is the head alpha of the Cherilith province with five territories across, he does not tolerate nonsense.
“You cannot ask her to bite other wolves in training. Cosa c’è che non va in te?” (What is wrong with you?) Mom exclaimed, glaring at dad.
“She needs to learn to be selfish in combat.” He replied casually and ate his food.
Suddenly, I feel lightheaded, then the room spun. Feeling heat burn in my veins as I held it with a groan. Aiyana rolling in my mind in pain, howling.
“Wilona, what is wrong?” Mom asked, grabbing my shoulders as I lost consciousness.
“Luna, she’s dehydrated and stressed. I suggest she rest for the next four days.” I heard a familiar voice.
I opened my eyes slowly and realised that I was in a hospital room. “Mom,” I whispered, and her worried face came into my view.
“You almost gave me a heart attack.” She said and engulfed me in an embrace.
“How long was I asleep?” I asked, lifting myself to sit.
“For an hour and your dad left in a huff because he is not happy that the doctor gave you days to rest.” Mom said.
I nodded, then glanced at the clock on the far wall. I still have 45 minutes to get home. After the doctor left, I looked at Mom. “Can we leave now?” I said. She squinted at me, then nods. We drove back home, and I sprinted to my room and took a quick shower. I put on my long pants and a fresh shirt and heels, then rushed to dad’s office.
I walked in just as he was about to talk over the speakerphone.
He lifted his eyes at me, then continued, “I am with my daughter, Wilona, who’s in training to be the next Alpha.” He said.
“Alpha Kai, do you think your daughter would control our sons? I think we should let a male rule this province.” One of the Alphas spoke.
Dad growled, “Alpha Filippo, this will teach every generation to come that gender does not count in leadership.” He replied with annoyance.
“True, we have seen the human world tumble because of gender equality. Let us not be like them.” One of the Alphas spoke.
‘There are too many deep voices and they are depressing as hell.’ Aiyana giggled, hiding her eyes with her paws.
“Okay, Wilona, what difference will you make in our province?”
I recognised the voice of Alpha Varrick of the Ice Moon pack. I looked at dad as he nods for me to talk. “Well, the first thing I will change is the rule of making only the first child rule after their fathers. Because I think all children matter and are entitled to rule. Also, give the firstborn the chance to make their own choice to rule, because there are those forced to rule only to make mistakes in their reign. Appreciate your children, even when they do not want to be Alphas.”
My dad nodded with a smirk.
“Well, Alpha Kai, I hope our sons are listening.” Alpha Varrick said.
I grinned.
‘You have a long way to go, my dear.’ Aiyana whispered, and I nodded.
It took two hours listening to the egotistic alphas talking and realised that there are things that need attention in the Dull Moon pack of Alpha Filippo.
“We have alpha Ross of the Acilith province over the phone and he wants to say something,” Dad said.
“I need everyone to respond to the invitation I have sent yesterday for my son, Konrad’s coronation, and it would be a great pleasure to have Miss Ward present.” Alpha Ross said.
I heard a cough through the speaker, and my eyes widened at dad. “I believe the response will reach you by midnight, Alpha Ross and I will discuss with my daughter further about your request,” He replied, narrowing his eyes at me then hung up.
“Your eyes are commanding me to go and why would he ask for my presence, anyway? It is not like I am already your replacement.” I said.
“Wilona, this will not be a discussion, because you need this exposure more than your mom and myself.” He spoke while typing on his laptop.
“Okay, I guess mom and I need to go shopping for a dress since I have nothing presentable in my closet.” I stood up and left. I took out my phone from my pocket and dialled Zara’s number.
She answered on the fifth ring, “Hello.” She said with her bored tone.
“I am sorry for what happened.” I said, sitting on the sofa in the living room.
“All forgiven, but next time do not walk away from me.” She warned me. I listened to her ranting about the club they went to.
