26. LACK OF COMMUNICATION

AMIRA'S POV

I spent hours waiting for Maya yesterday at the mall. We had planned to go a few days ago and I don't know why she never came.

I haven't seen her since she left the past the day before yesterday and yesterday was supposed to be just the two of us.

I wanted to help her since I know how Julían's presence affect her but after what happened that night, I also wanted to talk to someone.

I don't even know why Logan is ignoring me. I know he didn't do anything wrong but he won't talk to me.

I was angry at him for making me wait for him all night but as soon as I understood that he also has a lot to do, all I wanted was to be with him.

I didn't know what to do when I left, I figured that he would be ready to talk when I came back but he didn't come back to our room all night, again.

I wasn't even surprised when I woke up to find out he wasn't there. I don't even know how I should react to his change of behaviour.

Or is he angry at me for going out yesterday maybe? Even if that is the case, shouldn't he at least tell me what the problem is?

Our relationship is still new and already there is a lack of communication between us. I don't know much but I do know that once there is no communication between a couple, a lot happens.

I don't want anything to happen between us and I will do anything to make sure nothing happens. I can't imagine my life without Logan.

I've worked so hard to accept him and I can't just sit around and do nothing. Being with him has made me change the way I see men, especially mates.

In the past, no matter how much a couple looked happy to me, I would always think that everything would end in tears because to me every guy out there is the same as the other one.

When I witnessed my father beating up my mother, it affected me so much that I saw a monster in every man I encountered.

All of that changed when I met Logan and I know he is a wonderful person.

"Can I come in? You look so lost in thoughts." Maya waved her hand. "Hi" I couldn't help but smile when I saw her, she looks happy and she is glowing.

"You're happy." I got up from the bed and met her halfway, giving her a hug. Her presence alone is enough for me, I know I will not have to think about what's happening in my life when she's here.

"I am. I mean who wouldn't be?" I got confused by her words but then when I caught her scent, it was different. I could still smell hers but it was mixed with someone else's.

"You didn't!" I couldn't help but be surprised when I saw a fresh mark on her neck. "How?"

"Trust me, you don't wanna know the details of how that mark got in there!" That's right! I don't want to imagine my best friend having s*x, even if it was s*x with Julían.

"You know that's not what I meant."

"Come on, let's sit down first and I will tell you everything that you want to know. Except for the mating part that is." She chuckled.

"I want to know everything." I said as soon as we both sat down.

She told me about her conversation with her sister and what happened when she went to talk to Julían.

"It was just silly, to be honest. I mean who rejects their mates because they are virgins? I don't get it. When I asked him he told me that he was giving me a chance to meet someone who was just like me.

"The funny part is that when I told him that I would sleep with anyone if he wants me to so that I wouldn't be a virgin anymore, he was murderous.

"I could feel his wolf and it was clear that he wanted blood too just like his human part."

What was she thinking when she suggested that? Knowing my friend though, she was just teasing him.

"Long story short, I don't really know what happened but one thing led to another and when I came back to my senses, my virginity was gone and I was bearing his mark."

To prove her point, she touched the mark. The smile on her face made me smile along with her. She deserves happiness and I've always known that Julían can give her that.

"You're making me jealous you know." She looked at me, her eyes full of surprise.

"What? Mira, you have the best mate there is and you have no idea how lucky you are. Every girl dreams of becoming a princess and you not only got mated to royalty, but you are also mated to the king and you are a future queen.

"There's nothing to be jealous about, you know that."

"I know that Logan is wonderful and I know how blessed I am to have him as my mate, my forever but that's not what I'm talking about.

"If it was up to me, I would've given Logan my virginity the first time he kissed me but he didn't seem like he wanted to rush things.

"I know I had told him that I wanted to adjust and give him a chance to prove to me that he wasn't like what I had imagined him to be but I didn't mind losing my virginity to him.

"When I told him that I wanted him to make love to me, he came with conditions and I had to think about those conditions.

"He didn't want shortcuts, he wanted a full mating and I wasn't sure I was ready because that meant I would be soon recognised as a queen.

"He gave me time to think about it and when I decided that I was ready for everything, I told him and we almost mated."

"Almost?"

"Yeah, we almost mated but that i***t, Sebastían ruined everything for us. It's like no one wants to see us mated because after the party, Jake ruined everything too.

"Logan had to leave because Jake needed him to help with something. I couldn't do anything about it, I know his duties as a king are also important and they will always come first."

"I'm so sorry friend, I didn't know this was happening."

"I wasn't angry because I had to wait for him, I was just embarrassed. Your sister bought me sexy lingerie and I decided to put it on, just for him and then I had to wake up without him in bed.

"He didn't even see me in it and I was embarrassed, especially when I saw him. I had planned to wear another one though yesterday but he never came to bed and I didn't even know where he was.

"I still haven't seen him today and I can't help but feel like he is angry with me. I don't know what I did though."

It can't be because I went out without telling him, there has to be something else. I can't think of anything that I did though.

"You didn't speak to each other the whole day yesterday? How can that be? I know this castle is huge but there is no way you can avoid each other for a whole day, it's not possible. You also share the same bedroom."

"I saw him in the morning while we were having breakfast, he was tired so I didn't want to ask him any questions. It seemed he was avoiding me though but I know he might have had his reasons.

"I left a short while after that when I waited for him to finish whatever he was doing in his office and went to the mall like we had planned.

"I waited for you for hours though but now that I know you were with Julían then it's okay. It was my fault, I should've checked with you before going." At least I would've waited for Logan to finish so that we could talk.

"What do you mean you waited for me for hours? Were we supposed to meet somewhere?"

"What do you mean? We had planned to go shopping after Alex's birthday remember?" I can still remember the text I sent her two days before the party.

"I don't remember anything and I had no idea we were supposed to go out."

"I texted you before the party, I think it was two days before and you said you also wanted to clear your mind and get some fresh air. You are the one who suggested that we go there and that you were going to book a massage at a spa there.

"I went there to check and they confirmed that you did the booking. I even took their number and they also took mine in case you showed up." How could she forget something like this?

"I don't remember receiving those texts and I would remember if I did get them or maybe replying to them. Maybe my sister replied on my behalf and forgot to tell me about it.

"She's been trying to make sure that I'm happy ever since she got here and she was talking about spa day a few days ago. Let me check." She fished out her phone from the pocket and checked her messages.

"Find anything?" She shook her head and continued to check her text messages.

"There's nothing here. I've gone through our conversation for the past two weeks and I can't find anything, not even a single text to prove that you did send me a text message."

Huh? How is that even possible? I remember sending those texts very well or was I dreaming? If I was dreaming then why is the memory so clear?

I decided to check my phone. I checked my conversation with Maya and true to my words, the text messages were still there.

I showed her everything and she couldn't believe it. "Maybe someone did use my phone and deleted all the text messages, that is the only explanation."

Who would do that though and why?

"I will ask my sister, she is the only person who can unlock it and my nephews don't touch my phone and even if they did, they don't know there's a spa nearby let alone do the bookings.

"Maybe she wanted to surprise me but then forgot and I also went to Julían. I'm so sorry you had to wait for hours, all alone in that huge mall."

It's not her fault that she had no idea about everything and I know Charlotte only wanted to help. Even though sometimes her methods backfire, she takes her role as our big sister very seriously and I have to thank her for trying.

If Maya didn't go to Julían and I didn't leave without telling her, we would've had a very beautiful day and we would've been relaxed.

"It's okay, you don't have to ask her and I know she was trying to help. If she forgot to tell you then I think it is better to just leave it like that because if you tell her, she will feel guilty." I don't want that.

I will find a way to plan the same thing again and I will make sure nothing goes wrong. In the meantime...

"So... You and Julían? What's gonna happen now?" I smiled at her and her smile came back but this time it was even bigger.

"We haven't really talked about that, there wasn't much talk, to be honest. We spent the whole day in bed and then after we ate dinner, we began where we left off."

"Should I start with the wedding arrangements..."

We both laughed at that.
