LOGAN'S POV
"I told him what you told me but he won't listen to me. He keeps asking me to talk to you."
"Jake, I don't see a reason why I should talk to that motherfucker. He should be grateful that he is still alive and also living in my territory.
"The only reason he is still alive is that he was there for my mate when she needed him. If not, He would be dead by now and I don't mean that figuratively."
What is wrong with this fool? I told Jake several times to tell him that I don't want to see his face, let alone talk to him.
I don't even know when I became a merciful person, usually, I would let Leo deal with situations like this but it seems like everything has changed.
I don't enjoy killing people, even though I always kill those who deserve it but I know I would enjoy killing that motherfucker.
I didn't have a problem with him living here before because Amira told me they were best friends but now, I don't want him here and as soon as his thirty days prison time is over, I will kick him out.
I know my pack is for everyone who wants to join but it is not for douchebags like him and it will never be.
"What do I tell him? I'm tired of hearing the same thing from him every time I go to him. Why don't you just see him and tell him that you don't want to talk to him? I know he will listen to you."
"Are you insane? Why would I do that for?"
"I think it is the only way. He will not stop until you talk to him. Please? I'm getting tired of repeating the same s**t to that fool."
I guess he is right, I will have to talk to him eventually. It doesn't matter if I want to or not. With that being said, I asked Jake to bring him to me.
While waiting, I decided to call Sam. She picked up after two rings.
"Should I be worried?" Not even a lousy good morning?!
"Good morning to you too, sis."
"Yeah, yeah. You're okay?"
"I'm okay. I just want to ask if you're going to be here tomorrow for Alex's birthday party."
"Really now?"
"Fine, that's not why I called. I don't know if you're the person I should be asking this but I'm helpless."
"What's wrong? Did something happen between you and Amira?"
"No, that's not it. Nothing is wrong with us, we're okay. It's about her friend, Sebastían."
"Oh yeah, I remember her telling me about him. They've been friends since childhood and he was there for her when her father started causing her pain. What do you want to ask me?"
I decided to tell her what happened a few days ago. She didn't say anything for a while and I thought she wasn't going to respond.
"I don't know what to say, Logan. I mean I never thought he would have feelings for her. I don't know him but from what Amira said about him, I think he is a good guy.
"She had all the good things to say about him and I know she would never misjudge a person. You should know this by now."
I know my mate but I don't trust her friend and I don't think I ever will.
"He wants to talk to me. I don't want to see his face and I think I will kill him when I do see him."
"You won't kill him, I know that you want to punish him for what he did but you don't have to kill him. Amira doesn't want him and that should be enough for you.
"They've been friends for years and even though she doesn't want him, that will never change. She may hate him for now but you don't know if she would appreciate you killing him."
I know she's right. I've been saying that the only reason he is alive is because of my mate and I have to mean it.
"I guess you're right. Listen, I think they're back. I'll talk to you later, sis."
"Be nice okay? And remember, don't kill him." She cut off the call before I could even tell her there was no way in hell I was going to be nice to that dimwit.
I'm doing him a favour by allowing him here.
"Your Majesty, he's here." I didn't even realise I allowed Leo to make his presence known until I heard Jake's voice.
We've made progress and he calls me by my name unless Leo is on the surface.
"Let him in." Jake didn't say anything, he just went to the door and said something and Sebastían followed him inside.
Leo wanted to kill him right where he was and I would've allowed him because I am sure as hell don't want to see his face but I have to think of how Amira would feel if I kill him.
"Your Majesty, I'm sorry to bother you." He bowed his head. Leo saw that as utter disrespect, he wanted him to kneel when he spoke to us.
"If you prefer to talk to me standing like that then you must know you have ten seconds to say whatever s**t you want to say, I don't have all day." The words came out of my mouth before I can even stop them.
Even though I have no problem with Leo commanding respect from people, I don't want people to fear me. There's a huge difference between fear and respect.
I would rather have people disrespect me than fear me. I became a king because I knew every werewolf in this world needed me. They needed a leader and it is my duty to make sure that I give them exactly what they needed.
Sebastían took the hint, he went to his knees, or at least one of them.
"I'm sorry, Your Majesty. I meant no disrespect, believe me. I just came here to apologise to you."
"Apologise? What for?"
"For disrespecting you. I know it was wrong of me to approach your mate no matter how I felt. I knew she was yours but I still went after her.
"I'm really sorry. I promise I will never do something like that again. I know I don't deserve your mercy but I promised my brother that I will not do anything stupid and now that promise is broken."
"So breaking promises is something you do often... How can you guarantee that you won't break the one you just made now?"
"I've learned my lesson, I'm not going to do something without thinking hard first."
"I will give you a chance to prove to me that you've changed. If I see you even looking at Amira, I won't hesitate before letting Leo out and you will have to face his wrath."
Leo liked that idea and I think it is because he is silently hoping that Sebastían f***s up.
"Thank you so much, Your Majesty, I will not let you down."
"You will stay in the pack house until I say you are free to go. Don't forget you're still my prisoner, you're just under house arrest now. Jake, escort him to the pack house and make sure he doesn't escape."
"I will do that. You have a meeting in twenty-minute." He is relaxed now. Good.
I have to give myself a high-five, I handled that pretty well. No one died right? If someone had told me that I was going to give him a chance to prove himself before I spoke with him, I would've told that person that he/she needed to see a doctor.
I decided to get ready for the meeting. An Alpha from Russia asked for a meeting with me and I told Jake to arrange it, I had almost forgotten about it.
I hardly have meetings these days and even if do, I ask Jake to handle them for me unless they are really important and demand my attention.
I would've asked Jake to handle this one too but I have nothing to do and I also promised that I would be the one to handle this one and Dmitri asked for a meeting with me, not my Beta.
I went to the office and decided to busy myself with records for new members we have. We've had almost a hundred new members this month and it's not the end of the month yet.
I don't know where all these people come from but if they keep pouring in like this we will have to build a new pack house on top of the one we already have.
I know some families are staying there temporarily but still, we won't have enough space eventually.
Minutes later, a notification popped on the screen of the computer. Dmitri is online.
"Your Majesty. Greetings." He spoke with his thick Russian accent, smiling.
"Dmitri. You're early."
"Apologies. I was so eager to talk to you and don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting you. I've heard rumours, your Beta is the one who usually handles your meetings.
"I was expecting him and I wanted to tell him to ask for you. What I want to ask of you is something that I have to personally deliver to you."
"I see, you heard right. Jake handles my meetings unless they are important or they only need my attention. I have enough of those and sometimes I get to attend in person rather than using Skype, believe me, it gets tiring.
"By the way, I was looking forward to this meeting. What can I help you with?"
"Straight to the point, I like that."He paused and took a deep breath. "I don't know how you're going to react to this but I know I have to say it." He took a deep breath again.
"I know you only take people who really need help in your pack, people running from real problems and those who have no place to stay but I need you to help me with my wolves.
"Most of my pack members don't have jobs, which means we use the pack funds to take care of them but we've been running out of funds lately.
"I think someone from my pack is stealing the funds and until I find out who and how to stop it, I don't know how to take care of them.
"I can't tell everyone to pack up and go. I have to do something for them and you're the only person I think will be able to help.
"It can even be temporary. I promise you that I will find out who is betraying me and our entire pack and as soon as I do, I will take them back."
Why are people like this? Stealing from your own pack?
"You don't have to ask, I will be happy to help. They can stay here for as long as they want, fine by me. I was also making arrangements for new arrivals. How many members should I be expecting?"
"That's why I didn't want to ask you, there's too many of them. I'm afraid it will affect your pack funds a lot."
"Let me decide that for myself, Dmitri. How many is too many?"
"One hundred in total plus my sister-in-law. She will be there for a few days though. They will feel better knowing she is with them."
That new pack house really needs to be built and that too, soon.
"Let me know when I should be expecting them and also if you need anything. We will be able to accommodate them for as long as they want.
"There are enough rooms for everybody." Even though I will have to build another pack house sooner. I kept those words hidden though.
It is my duty to take care of those wolves after all.
"Thank you so much, Your Majesty. I will update you every day."
When I became a king, I never thought I would do all this work.
