Chapter 6: Nostalgic Love *** ‘What if we actually gave this another chance? Maybe… it wouldn’t be so bad to see how this guy is now when-’ Admits his delightful momentary delusions, Ciel heard a voice call out to him. “Hey bro! What are you doing out here in the cold? Come inside if you’re done with your phone call.” Angelica approached them with a carefree smile. “Oh, you’re the guy from before!” Her soft voice was truly similar to that of a living and breathing angel… only she had no wings. “Ugh… sorry for bothering you.” Ciel apologized as he tried to make his escape swiftly but he was grabbed by Dante’s extended arm. “Stay here.” Dante requested with a light tone that usually wouldn’t feel threatening at all, but because his voice was so deep it came off as if he was threatening the man. “Yes, sir!” Ciel stood by with a serious expression on his face. “What is it Angelica?” Dante turned to his sister with a dismissive look in his eyes. They didn’t seem to get along outright. “Call me Ann! What’s the point of being so up and proper with family, huh? Who’s this cutie next to you?” Angelica asked as she turned to look over her brother’s shoulder at the man standing directly behind him as if he was being guarded. “My boyf-” Dante’s lips were sealed by Ciel’s exaggerated display. “We’re just friends! Classmates from school.” Ciel said it loudly to overpower the man’s voice and pressed the palms of his hands onto the man’s mouth, only he had to stand on his tip toes to achieve that. “Oh, really? Then would you like to go out with me?” Angelica asked with a tilt of her head to the side, she was serious. ‘Am I dreaming or did a very beautiful girl just ask me out on a date?’ Ciel felt like he was going to lose his mind if he didn’t respond instantly. “Yes, of course!” “No, he doesn’t.” Dante interrupted him in the same manner as he did and pressed his hands that were larger than the man’s face onto his lips. It wasn’t as romantic as when Ciel did it, and it seemed that much more rough. “Ehh? I clearly heard him say yes just now though.” Angelica looked disappointed as she turned her attention to Ciel who on the other hand was panicked. “He got confused.” Dante remarked with an indifferent sounding voice. ‘No I didn’t! What’s this guy saying?!’ Ciel struggled and got the man’s hands off himself. “Your name?” Angelica pushed past her brother to speak to him. “Ciel.” Ciel replied with almost a bow as he didn’t know how to act, he was so nervous at that moment. “Well, Ciel, since my brother doesn’t seem to like this, I want to go out with you even more!” Angelica had this excited smile upon her lips. Ciel replied with a smile. “I’m totally alright with going out with you-” “Then we’ll go all out together.” Dante interjected casually, shoving his hands into his pockets. “WHAT?!” Ciel turned towards the man, wiping his head so fast that he might have broken the sound barrier if he’d done it any quicker. “Sure, I don’t mind.” Angelica shrugged her shoulders. “If that’s what it takes to go out with him, then whatever.” She seemed content with the results of her ask. “I mean, yeah sounds like a plan.” Ciel quickly changed his mind after seeing the woman was alright with it. ‘I have to play this cool… I can’t let her know I’m so awkward.’ He thought to himself, conditioning his heart to remain resolved. “I’ll be heading back home now, bro, how about sending me off?” Angelica turned to her brother with a cute smile upon her face. Dante let go of a heavy sigh as he turned to her and replied. “Sure, give me a minute.” “Oh, and here are my details. Can’t wait to hear from you.” Angelica was quick to offer Ciel her card where she had her personal number on there. “Thanks…” Ciel looked at it as if he had been given literal gold, he was so happy at that moment. “Hey…” Dante interrupted the man’s precious moment of his first time receiving a girl’s phone number. “Yes, sir?” Ciel turned towards him like a soldier turning towards his sergent on the battle field. With the utmost respect and a perfect stance almost as if he had rehashed it. Suddenly and without warning Dante moved closer towards Ciel and rested his chin onto the man’s shoulder. “You’re so awkward around me… tell me what you want me to do and I’ll do it, if it makes you more comfortable.” He spoke in a low whisper next to the man’s ear. “I… I think it’s just a habit at this point, it has little to nothing to do with you I swear.” Ciel ever so hesitantly explained. It was the truth, after all, old habits die hard. “Then on our dates… make sure to be more relaxed.” Again because of Dante’s deep voice it sounded almost like it was a command. “Did you need to whisper that in my ear? It feels as if you’re trying to seduce me.” Ciel said with a bit of a mocking tone to it, though it seemed to have the opposite effect of what he wanted it to be. “Do you want me to seduce you?” Dante asked as he pulled back slowly and his lips touched the man’s ear lightly. “Obviously not… I… want to admit I like your sister.” Ciel said as he gently pushed him back. He was avoiding looking at the man’s eyes, there was a certain panic to them that he couldn’t hide even if he tried. “She’s bad news… you’d be better off with someone like me.” Dante warned him with a serious expression. “No, she’s caring and sweet and-” Ciel tried to defend her but was stopped midway. “You don’t know her.” Dante’s eyes were serious and his tone wasn’t like before, it wasn’t just because it was deep that it sounded intimidating, at that moment he seemed to actually be angry. “But she’s what I’m looking for… so please don’t ruin this for me.” Ciel finally managed to utter a rather stern statement of his own. Dante was lost in thought for a few moments then quietly replied. “I won’t lose you to anyone… not my sister… not anyone…” “See this is the problem.” Ciel sighed heavily. “The choice is yours who to be with… I’ll just prove to you that I’m better.” Dante said as he held onto the man’s hand and suddenly he lowered himself to kiss Ciel’s palm. “Right… okay…” Ciel pulled his hand back, still the spot felt hot. ‘At this point he’ll never leave, so it’s best if I just let him think whatever he wants to think.’ He thought to himself. “Also one more thing…” Dante said as he straightened out his back, he’d been slouching over as to speak with the man at eye level up until now. “What is it?” Ciel asked a bit dismissively as if he couldn’t wait until the man left. “Do you like her because she doesn’t have a d**k?” Dante asked with the utmost seriousness within him. “A what now?” Ciel looked completely dumbfounded by the strange question. Dante decided to explain since it was clear the other didn’t understand it yet. “You said you disliked sleeping with me because it was too big… I hadn’t hit puberty yet back then so I guess it makes sense that after that it grew more and the reduction surgery didn’t make much of a difference.” He spoke as he lowered his gaze, somehow there was pain in the back of his throat… a deep seethed regret. “……………” Ciel watched him for a while and looked even more baffled than he was initiatlly. His thoughts spiraling wildly. ‘BUT HE WAS HUGE EVEN IN HIGH SCHOOL… WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE HADN’T HIT PUBERTY?! IS HE A MONSTER OR WHAT?!’ “So I assumed… you liked my sister because she doesn’t have a d**k…” Dante’s voice was surprisingly gentle, this time he made no attempt to hold the man as he spoke. “No, that’s definitely not why I liked her…” Ciel shook his head. “Then why?” Dante asked him curiously. Ciel paused for a moment and then replied slowly.“It was just love at first sight… when she gave me that scarf in my worst moment I really thought it was something special.” “I see…” Dante looked indifferent to that statement. ‘He’s not mad, is he?’ Ciel wondered to himself. “I just wish… I was the one to give you a scarf at that moment… if I knew how much it meant to you, I would have been there…” Dante said with a look of regret within his eyes, he turned his back to the man. “No… I mean… that’s…” Ciel tried to reach out to him to explain but gave up halfway. Why did he need to explain anything to him anyways? Did he suddenly feel bad because the man had such a pitiful expression? “Good night…” Dante turned around after planting the simplest kiss upon the man’s forehead. It was quick and devoid of any s****l feelings… his lips barely made contact. And yet… It left Ciel completely baffled after it, he stood there his hand placed over the place the man had kissed. “This guy… he’s serious about this…” He muttured quietly under his breath… “I’m so sorry, he wasn’t inside and I got sidetracked speaking to a girl there and- Why is your face so red, are you sick?” “No… I’m… good…”
