The Friday morning-- after completing her exams yesterday, Reva came back home in the night after meeting Helen’s mom at her house. Reva kindly invited her to the wedding and she was so happy for Reva. She cooked a nice dinner for her and they talked about a lot of marriage stuff. Helen and her mom were the two good people that she has in her life; other than them she doesn’t have any close relatives or friends. Coming back home Reva headed straight to the bed as this past one week she’s been studying and nothing else.
Since Reva is a born introvert, she prefers to stay in her shell than mingling close with the people but she is good with everyone and always wants to help the people around her.
She opened the curtains of the bedroom and the sunrays hugged her gently. She took her phone to check but she saw some ten missed calls from Victor. Reva has this habit of putting her phone in a silent mode when she goes to bed for undisturbed sleep.
She jumped out of her bed and called him back, anxiously expecting him to be mad at her.
“I’ve been calling you for ten times, what happened? Is there any problem?” Reva just fell down on her bed after hearing that worried tone, aww this guy is so sweet, she smiled.
“Reva?” his sweet voice uttered her name.
“Yes,”
“What happened?” he again questioned.
“Nothing, I just slept and my phone was in silent mode. Sorry,” she apologized biting her lower lip.
“Keep your sorry with you, I am standing in front of your house. Open the door,” he said.
“What?” she screamed in shock and looked at her in the mirror. Her nightgown is barely covering her though.
“I just now woke up and my house is messy. What’s the matter? Tell me on the phone,” she refused to open.
“It’s okay just open the door; I am here to take you with me.” Victor convinced her.
Reva –without having another option decided to open the door, but before that she pulled out her sweater from the wardrobe and covered herself with that.
She opened the door slightly and looked at Victor with a smile.
“Open it, I am going to be husband after all,” he smiled seeing her embarrassed face.
She did and Victor came inside. While he looked around, Reva closed the door behind.
“It’s not that messy,” he commented.
Reva stood there silent, his watched gazed her intently.
“Why you’re here?” she asked in a low tone.
“I told you already, I am here to take you with me. We are going to my father’s hometown.”
She nodded. “It will take some time for me to get ready,” she pointed.
“No problem, I‘ll wait here for you,” he sat on the couch and she mentally gritted.
“Do you want anything to drink?
“No, get ready quick. We need to go there by afternoon,” he requested.
Reva smiled, “sure,” she nodded and went inside her bedroom closing the door.
She took a hot bath and came out wearing her jeans and a sandal blouse. Packing a few clothes on her bag Reva came out taking her phone and wallet. But was shocked when he was flipping her journal.
“What you’re doing?” she jumped forward to snatch it from his hands. But Victor turned away with a smirk.
“You write so well,” he complimented.
“Thanks, but give it to me,” she tries to get but he raised above his head. Victor must be around six feet and poor Reva was just five feet four inches so whatever she jumps she couldn’t get it.
“Why you’re trying too hard?”
“Have you written anything about me?” he asked and Reva’s eyes widened in shock. Yes! She has written a small poem about their first kiss. Yeah, they have shared a small kiss on the day they went to get their wedding dress.
Victor took her to a good restaurant in the city, Reva ordered her favorite dish since Victor told that he will pay the bill.
While waiting for the food, Victor cleared his throat to get her attention, “When you will complete your studies?”
“Next year. I will be a lawyer,” she proudly said.
“That’s great, after graduating join my company as one of my legal advisors,” he told.
“Hmm, no I can’t settle in a place. I am having other plans, but I’ll work for you if you need any help,” Reva smiled.
“Your wish. I just told there’s an opening for you and it’ll be always there,” Victor said.
“Thanks,” Reva replied and she felt that he doesn’t have any objection about getting married to her. Because he seemed to be cool and welcoming yet he doesn’t look like a flirt. She couldn’t understand what he’s actually thinking about this marriage.
“After our marriage, you need to shift to my mansion, do you have any problem with that?” he asked.
“No, but is it too far from my university?”
“It will take some twenty minutes I guess, I will ask my driver to drop you,” he added.
“No, I can drive by myself and I don’t like being escorted by someone everywhere,” she told and Victor nodded his head.
Then the food came and they didn’t talk much after that. Victor stopped his car in front of her house and she invited him inside but he refused to come telling that he has some work. Before getting down from the car, Victor held her hand and leaned to kiss her cheeks.
Reva’s eyes grew wider to feel his lips on her skin. This is an unexpected thing that happened on that day. Whenever she reminds about the kiss she can’t stop blushing and smile out of her control like a teenager. So she has written it a small poem with the feelings she experienced on the time.
“Please give it back. I beg you,” she frowned.
Victor gave without playing with her anymore. “I don’t think we are close enough to read these things,” she stated.
“Alright, I understand,” Victor sat on the couch.
Reva felt bad for saying that and headed to the kitchen to get something to drink. She prepared a coffee for both of them and made some toast munching her favorite cookies.
She came out and handed the cup to him and he bought it hesitantly.
Cleaning her desk, Reva sat on that.
“How long we will stay there?” she asked.
“After the wedding, we are coming back here. I don’t have any more time to waste,” he crossed his legs and looked at her.
“Maybe if my father compelled we will we spending our wedding night there,” Victor added.
Wedding right? There’s a thing like that right? What I am going to do in that?
“Oh, okay. My grandfather?”
“You don’t have to worry, he already flying there in my private jet,” he told.
Reva smiled. “Thanks,”
“No problem, since I am going to marry you and whatever that associates you is my responsibility,” his lips curled in reassurance.
After a silence,
“Actually in that journal, I’ve written about my late parents and it’s something that will turn me emotional so that’s why I said like that,” she said the truth but hidden the poem about him.
“Don’t be sorry,” Victor got up and headed to the kitchen. He rinsed his cup and placed it on the drainer.
“Let’s leave,” he smiled and Reva's heart pounded like crazy.
Why he has to so nice? She asked.
Since their marriage is going to occur privately he doesn’t allow a single employee of him to come there and it’s just two hours from the city so Victor doesn’t ask his driver to accompany him. But while driving to the town Victor kept receiving calls from his office and he was quite busy attending those calls so having no other option he asked Reva to drive the car, with a smile on her face she agreed.
He’s not treating her like a doll or some sort of possession. He’s real and down to earth which she likes so much about him.

Reva got down from the car that stopped before Victor’s ancestral home. It’s not so big or not very small. The front lawn was beautifully decorated for the wedding.
“Come,” Victor reached out his hand giving no time for her to agree. She hesitantly held his hand for the first time and went with him.
Her grandfather and Victor’s father were sitting on the couch placed near to the window of the living room. “Victor!” suddenly a female voice gained Reva’s attention.
She turned to see a middle-aged lady having Mr. Jone’s facial features. She concluded that it might be his aunt, Mr. Jones's sister.
“How long it’s been,” she hugged him and Victor smiled.
“Yeah, Aunt I missed you,” he whined and seeing that Reva had an uncontrollable urge to laugh.
“So this is your wife to be,” his Aunt turned to Reva.
“I am Reva Charles, Nice to meet you,” Reva smiled.
“Aww I know you, Reva and I know your mother too, she’s my schoolmate,” she replied.
“Oh?” Reva was surprised.
“She’s also from this town, but she moved to the city for her higher studies,” she cleared her doubt.
“You’re looking like your mother,” she told.
Reva becomes sad to hear that, she has heard this from many people who have seen her mother in person and whenever she looks at her mother’s old pictures she can’t help but feel emotional that her mother was not there to see her.
“Aunt, where are Ron and Sarah?” he asked casually but he purposely wanted to change the topic seeing Reva’s face.
“They were in the house, will come here by evening,” she told.
Reva concluded that they must be his cousins. She excused herself to talk with her grandad and he happily welcomed her.
“Are you okay, Grandpa?” she asked and sat beside the couch.
“I am fine, Reva.”
She turned her gaze to Mr. Jones who had a warm smile on his still-young face. “How was your travel?"
“Fine, Uncle,” Reva replied.
“Take a look around this house, Victor grew up here with his mom and grandmother,” he revealed.
“Oh,”
“For work, I came to the city but Victor, my wife, and my mother lived in this town, and he moved with after his mother’s death,” he explained.
Reva nodded.
“When she died?” she asked.
“When victor was in middle school,”
Reva felt sad for him. She didn’t have memories of her parents since they died when she was too young but for him, it’s something miserable to lose your mom after sharing lots of memories. She came back from her thoughts hearing Mr. Jones, “Victor take her to upstairs, show her room.”
She turned to see Victor who’s standing right behind her, “Come with me, Reva,” he smiled and she felt like something strange inside her.
She followed him looking at her grandfather and he’s happy to see them together. He turned to Mr. Jones and he reassuring smile.
In upstairs there are four rooms, Victor took her into the room at the right corner. She looked around and it’s plain. “It’s just for a night. I hope you can adjust?” he looked at her.
“Sure,” she smiled.
“Okay, enjoy your stay then. If you want anything I am in the next door,” saying that he went out of the room. Reva stared him with no clue about this man who looks like a prideful person from outside but he’s too genuine by character. Reva can’t help but smile widely after she’s alone in her room. She went near to the window and opened it to see the big lawn far stretched by the lake at the backside of the house. The sun-kissed her skin and she smiled seeing the bright skin.
Thinking about she’s getting married tomorrow is what made her nervous but she has come to the stage where she’s okay with marrying him. Her initial doubts about Victor has cleared now, Reva can easily predict someone. In her guess, Victor isn’t a bad guy. He’s a gentleman because his eyes never seen her in an inappropriate way. He seemed to be understanding too, Reva thought this and sat on her bed. She looked at her phone screen and decided to call Helen, she will be here in the morning and going to help Reva.
In the evening, a girl in her early twenties and a guy in the mid-twenties came to the house. Reva came out of the room hearing the welcoming sound.
“Hey Victor,” a girl came upstairs and she looked like his Aunt.
Seeing Reva, she had a smile. “Hi! You must be Reva, right?” she asked.
“Yes, I am,” she replied.
“I am Sarah, Victor’s cousin,” she reached out her hand and Reva shook her hand with her.
Victor came out of the room and was happy to see Sarah. They hugged each other and Ronald, Sarah’s brother joined too.
They had the usual sibling conversation by teasing and praising each other. Reva just stood there and watched them.
“Reva you should join us, let’s go to the lake at the backside,” Victor asked and she agreed.
They all went there to see the newly built wooden flooring in the lake, Reva sat on the bench nearby and watched the place.
“I heard you’re a lawyer,” Sarah sat beside her.
“Yes, I am in the last year,” she replied.
“That’s great,”
“What you’re doing?” Reva asked.
“I am a dermatologist,” she answered.
“Oh,” Reva gave a surprised expression. “Great.”
“Thanks,”
“My brother was working with Victor,” she said looking at them standing near the lake.
Reva nodded, “Actually I don’t know anything, it was all arranged last week, so I couldn’t have the time to talk with him,” Reva smiled politely.
“Yeah, I know. We are going to be a family from now on, so you don’t have to feel apologetic,” Sarah patted her shoulders.
Reva smiled. “Are you working here?”
“No, I am working in the city and I am living with my fiancé,” she told before Reva could ask.
That time, her mom asked Sarah to come inside and her brother followed her giving a private space for the new couple.
Reva watched Victor standing before her and watching the sunset. She then turned her gazed to the sun which is about to close its cloudy curtain. Victor moved to Reva and took a seat beside her.
“Do you like this place?” he asked.
“Yes,” she told without meeting his eyes. Their proximity made her feel unusual.
“Do you want to ask me anything?” he asked and she looked up to his ocean eyes.
“I don’t know,” she replied foolishly.
He smiled, “Okay,”
When Victor got up, Reva held his hand, “Wait,” she said.
He again sat next to her. “I want to look after my grandpa after marriage, so I want him to stay with us,” she asked.
“He can’t stay with us,” he nodded. Reva become annoyed instantly and decided to argue with him.
“But he can stay with my dad,” he answered.
“Is it near to your house?” she asked.
“Yes, it’s just before my home,” “You haven’t seen my house right?” he asked.
“You will know it when I take you there, tomorrow,” he told.
“Okay,” Reva nodded.
“Let’s go inside,” he reached out his hand and she happily accepted. She doesn't know why but but she feels happy to hold his hand.
