Chapter 14.

Mia’s pov. We walk back in silence. I have nothing to say to him. I don't care who this man is. I want to go home. Soon enough, people start to join us on the way out. Some are holding sick people that look very similar to me, others are walking on their own. There are normal people here too in their normal looking clothes but they just look so foreign to me. I have only seen people naked or in their white clothes. Something I will need to get used to again. I do not reel in my fire so people do not get any idea of coming close to me or touching me. “Watch it b***h!” Some teen girl shrieks at me but I just ignore her while walking up the stairs. I was right in my attempt to escape, we are way too far underground. I would never have made it to the surface. The air keeps getting thinner and thinner. I am starting to get a little light headed. “Hurry up or get out of the way!” a man now yells at me. I move more to the wall keeping my hand on the wall but not accepting any help from the ones offering it. I have lost sight of the man and it makes me a little unsure but I shrug it off. We reach the end and are met with the setting sun. The sky is dark blue with some pink in it from the sun. Somehow though it is too strong for me and the air is so thin I feel like I can’t breathe. “We need everyone to stay together and not wander off. The council members need to know how many were inside and how many we are taking into custody” My eyes snap to the beautiful woman radiating magic hovering in the middle of the air. They have someone in custody? They did not kill them all? Why would they let them live? Who do they have? “You need medical attention!” a woman dressed in scrubs says half a meter from me. She can’t get any closer to me. She is without magic. “I don't need anything from you” I growl at her. My magic might be slow to heal me but I will not let anyone touch me again unless I want it and I certainly did not want this woman to touch a single hair on my body. Hair. I lift my hand up to my head, my bald head. I fist my hand and start walking towards where I saw the woman talking. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a man lie in a woman's arms and I froze in my steps. I turned my head slowly looking better at him. Zander. He looks like the first day I saw him. He looks healthy and he looks like he is peacefully sleeping in this woman's arms. Like we did not endure hell together. That pissed me off to no end. I can’t blame him I know but seeing him like this. Like nothing happened. My anger and hatred started to bloom again. People move out of my way feeling the heat coming from me. I can feel her magic, it is so pure. It is like little daisies leading my way to her. Then I spot her but she is talking to the killer. He is clean now of the blood and to say he is gorgeous is an understatement. He puts all my fantasy men to shame even his angry looking expression is making me almost drool. I quickly rip my eyes off him and move to the woman. “There were way more casualties that we wanted but then again there are about a hundred times more people than we expected to rescue. Where are we sending them?” she says and she sounds genuinely concerned. “Well I see a lot of families have come to claim their loved ones so after they are gone we will divide them up” He stops talking and looks at me. He does not look at me with disgust as I thought he would but with a very blank mask. “Yes?” he snaps. “Ian! Be polite! My dear you need medical attention!” the woman says in a mothering tone. Ian. His name is Ian. “I need to know where you took your prisoners” His face changes into a scary angry look. “That is none of your business.” he growls threateningly. “They tortured me, they are my business” I snap back. The woman looks shocked at our interaction but I just look back at her, waiting for my answer. “Honey, We will keep everyone updated on their trial but you need to heal yourself and think about you first” “I am. I will sleep very soundly tonight after I squeeze their hearts to nothing” The concern in her face ten folds and she starts to look at me with so much pity. “Well sweety that is not happening. We need to know what happened and if there are more places out there that we need to close down” I narrow my eyes at her but I can feel my magic starting to run low so I can’t really fight with her about this. I lift my hand. I can feel her magic in the air around her. She is magical through and through. She has magic in every fiber of her body, demanding to be respected. I want her magic. I just want to taste it. My hand goes on its own outright to her but she turns away from me because something caught her attention and walks away. Leaving me with Ian. I watch her go. She is amazing. “Stay out of trouble and get yourself checked out” Ian spits at me walking after the woman. Without even thinking about it, I turn my already outright hand to him and grab him by the upper arm. He is wearing a black t-shirt so I am touching clear skin. Wow. His magic is like sunshine. His magic is like hers but not as pure. I feel it flow over to me in very big and powerful waves. However it is ripped away from me too soon. Before I even know what is happening he has me by the neck up against a tree. Ignoring my already stronger flames kissing his skin. “What the f**k was that?” He is holding my neck too hard so I can’t answer him. “What did you do?” he yells at me. “Ian!” “Elder Gray” His face is fuming, he is so close to me, if my fire did not burn it right up I would feel his breath on my cheek. Looking into my eyes, he lets me go and leaves without a second word to me. “Andres” he yells. A man comes up from the crowd looking rather basic aside from his sharp dress code. “Make sure she does not leave your sight. I will have some questions for her when I am done with the Council members.” The man just nods his head and without looking back at me, they walk away. I am done with this. I want to go home and refuel when I am back at my full strength. I will come back and I will find those prisoners. I wonder if they have my favorite doctor? I did not see everyone of the corpses on the ground but to my best knowledge I did not see her. I start to walk away from them. I need to get out of this barrier if I am going to get home the quickest way home. I lick my lips tasting his magic. This is new. What is this magic? “Hey that is far enough!” Andres yells at me when we are a little away from the people. I turn around at him. “Make me” He walks up to me unbothered by the flames, so he has fire magic perfect. He grabs my arm but I put my other one on his cheek. As fast I can I suck out his magic and wow it tastes so fresh. Nothing close to Ian’s but just so fresh like the ones I have been having have been stale. “AAHHH” he screams. When he is out, I let him go but like out of thin air Ian appears in front of us. He can teleport! I smile at him while he runs towards me. I close my eyes and imagine my home pulling myself there. Then when I open my eyes I am standing in front of my house. Home.
