Zanders POV.
I woke up after the incident feeling the worst headache in the world. I hated not having my magic to heal these stupid unnecessary headaches and body aches. The pain is not useful to their experiments, so why not let us heal ourselves? Mia and Theo have not woken up but Jade is staring at me. I keep my gaze away from her. She really showed her true colors before we were drugged to sleep. I was thinking about trying to take her with me should I ever get out but now, she can rot in this hole. My gaze goes over to Mia. Her hair all in one big knot, her lips busted in a few places and two black eyes. She is crazy but at least she has been honest with how she is from the beginning.
“She is not worth it” Jade says in a low voice.
I raise my eyebrow at her.
“She is a crazy scum raised by wolves. She is no better than woodman over here”
“Being raised by wolves does not make a person any less than others.” I simply say then look away from her again.
Theo rumbles about something and I can just see the mask slip on her face. I wonder what happened to this hole before. Someone guessed it was another group breaking out but I am not so sure that was the problem. I have seen the amount of rooms they have in here but I don’t think they are capable of keeping another group like us under control at the same time. What I do think is that they are keeping people here, but more like brainwashed people.
The woman that gave birth to me or any of us could be here but then she would not be worth saving.
The door swings open and in walks a man in his late thirties in a lab coat and with a clip board. Behind him are three people, one man and two women.
“I need a male and a female”
He looks up from his clipboard and looks at us.
“Take the ones that are fully awake”
He turns around walking out of the room not even seeing who is following him. One of the women takes out a controller and my bed hums to life, it starts moving out of the room. I hear some other bed following me but I don’t know who’s. We go into a room, that is just like the others. White walls and one big one-way window. I move my legs and arms to get ready for the torture they will bring down on me. The door opened again and in comes Jade in her chair. What is their plan?
I can feel her staring at me. I know Theo and Mia had to fight but I will not take part in something like that.
Then the door opens up again but in comes a woman in a wheelchair. I raise an eyebrow. She does not look at us, she just stares at the floor. I am released from the bed and I am taken by so much surprise that I fall to the ground. Jade just stands up and looks at the mirror waiting for instructions.
“We will give you some of your magic back.”
Jade smiles from one ear to the other. Some might think she looks cute and happy but I can see the wickedness in that smile.
“First we want you to heal yourselves”
The injection comes into light from the back of the chair. Jade almost runs to it, stabbing herself in the thigh and pushing the liquid in. I look at mine. I am not sure I want it.
“If you don’t want it then I will take it” Jade says with so much greed in her voice.
She takes a step towards me.
“No, you will not”
Then from the wall comes the dart gun that shoots darts that take the magic away.
“This one is for the Banshee, take one more step towards it and its lights out for you.”
I look at the woman then back to the needle. I put my feet under me and push up from the floor ignoring the almost blinding pain, shooting up and down my legs. I grab the injection and stab it in my leg, pushing the liquid in like Jade. My body instantly feeling my magic. It runs through me like air, healing every scar, bruise and cut.
“Now join forces and heal the woman”
I look at Jade. Do they know anything about witches? We can’t just join our magic and heal or attack something. I walk to the woman and put my palm over her head. Usually when I have all of my magic I only need to look at a person to know what is going on with them but since I only have about ten percent. I move into her body, into her mind. Her mind is broken beyond repair. There is nothing there to heal. It would be like repairing a window that has been broken down into sand.
“You know she is beyond repair”
Jade looks at me. Some kind of victory in her face and eyes.
“No one is” she says, walking over to the woman.
She stands in front of her, puts both hands on her cheeks making the woman look up in her face. The woman looks in her eyes and I see the iris in her eyes go white.
“There healed”
“I will serve you mistress until the day I die” The woman says with a raspy voice.
Turning her into a zombie is not healing her. However, I am not going to comment on it.
“Stand up” Jade orders.
The woman stands up as ordered but gets light-headed and falls back down into the chair. Now that I have been inside I can feel her like I normally can with anyone I choose.
“So you say you have healed her?”
I look in the mirror. He does not sound impressed.
“Yes” Jade says with a smile and her hands behind her back.
Silence.
“So she has her magic back?”
No, this woman does not have a drop of magic in her.
“Maybe after a little time, her magic will come back”
The door swings open and two people walk in, the man grabs her from behind while the woman takes a big swing into Jades stomach. She folds over, sobbing quietly.
“Do not lie to me”
“No she will not have her magic back it has left her” Jade yells.
“Then you did not heal her”
The man walks around Jade and kicks her in the stomach.
“Stop” I warn them.
They both look at me, their faces showing no interest in stopping.
“To make them stop, heal her”
The woman is crying over her mistress being hurt.
“She is beyond getting her magic back. Our magic runs in us always even when you sedate it with your horrible injections. She has nothing left.”
Silence.
The silence stretched out.
“Then she is useless, kill her”
I look to the guards, half expecting them to spring into action.
“He is not talking to us, vermin”
My eyes moving slowly to the woman, I know it would be a mercy kill to do it but I can not just kill a defenseless woman.
I will not kill her no matter how much they will torture me, it is just not me.
Then all of a sudden her head snap unnaturally much to the side, the little life in her eyes fading away.
“Don’t start crying” Jade says in a very dark and defeated voice.
She stands up, holding her stomach and spitting blood on the white floor.
“This was the most humane way for her to go”
I want to growl at her but then I feel a dart stabbing me in the lower back.
