Elizabeth had not gone through the schedule. She had been really busy, working on the pile of documents on her desk.
Maybe she was really incompetent, she thought, as she bit her bottom lip.
Knowing the fire-breathing dragon he was, she was too terrified to tell him that she didn’t know.
Crossing his arms over his chest, he eased back on his seat as he awaited her response.
She probably didn’t know, he thought when she was taking too long to reply. But he was going to be nice to her and not go nuclear on her—only because she helped him yesterday night.
"What is my schedule for today, Ms. Felix?" he asked again.
"Uhm… I…" she stuttered.
He pinched the bridge of his nose. "Go and check, then get back to me."
Much to her surprise, Alexander didn’t give her the reaction she had expected. She stood there for a few seconds, waiting for him to call her incompetent or something, but nothing came.
"Why are you still standing there?" he asked, raising his brow as he glared at her.
"Nothing sir." She said, as she quickly turned on her heels and dashed out of the office.
When she got to her desk, she sat down beside it and quickly turned on the computer that was on her desk. She looked through his schedule and memorized it. He didn’t really have much on his schedule for that day.
After memorizing the schedule, she leapt to her feet and trudged to his office. She stopped at the door and straightened the black knee-length skirt she was wearing.
Although she knew he was expecting her, she decided to knock on the door instead of entering without a proper invitation. Even though he was nice to her earlier, she didn’t want to risk getting insulted over something as simple as ethics.
"Knock knock."
"Come in," Alexander said almost immediately.
Elizabeth took a deep breath to allow enough airflow into her lungs before wrapping her hand around the door knob and pushing it open.
Alexander was now sitting on one of the black leather sofas inside the office.
She was careful with her footsteps as she walked towards him.
Hoisting up his head to look at her, he asked. "What’s my schedule?"
"You have a meeting with the marketing team concerning the new product."
"What time?" he asked quickly.
"10 - 11:30AM."
"What is the time now?"
She glanced at the wall clock mounted on one corner of the wall. "9:40 AM."
He nodded his head. "Okay, go on."
“11:40–12:40, a meeting with the research team. 1:00 PM, a meeting with Mr. McCarthy at the company’s café, and lastly, Mr. Anthony’s birthday."
"You should take care of that." Alexander said.
Confusion spread across her face. "Sorry, take care of what?"
"Mr. Anthony. Get a gift and visit him in his house on my behalf." Alexander instructed.
She swallowed against her dry throat. "What should I get, sir?"
"Figure it out. Get anything you think a man would like."
She nodded her head and muttered. "Yes, sir."
"I am going to my meetings now, and you are going with me. I want to use this opportunity to introduce you as my secretary.” Alexander announced as he leapt to his feet.
