5. Inverness in the winter is the most humid place on earth. It is in summer too, and spring and autumn, but in winter the humidity gets into your bones, literally. It’s not cold, not too much anyway, considering how far north it is, but it rains…and if it isn’t raining, it’s as though it is. I arrived in the city after two o’clock in the afternoon, after having stopped to eat. I left the car in the service station feeling rather apprehensive, but nothing happened. After that I got more confident and once in the city I headed straight for the Eastgate mall, one of the biggest in Inverness.
