Chapter 7|CHAD

1179 Words
CHAD I was running as fast as I can and glanced sometimes to see if the huge wolf's following me and even though I can't see it already I still ran as if my life's depending on it. Yes, it fvcking does! My heart was drumming inside my chest and it felt like it was going to destroy my ribs! It was getting dark and the moon's brightness which was my only light and not to mention, hope also were gone making me ran blindly. I was breathing heavily like crazy and all I can think of was to get out of that place, but I don't know where to go. Not in that darkness. I can't see the trees making me slow down and I can't focus and think straight and not to mention that I was starting to hyperventilate. The air was getting thin and I need to gasp for air. I stopped because I can't take it and look on my back and I let out a choked cried when I saw those pair of glowing eyes that I kept on seeing every night outside, on our lawn, beside the tree and the wolf jumped at me. I screamed at the top of my lungs and thrashed, kicking and thew my arms. "Chad! What the hell!" I stopped screaming and slowly opened my eyes when I heard Tomaz' voice outside. I was surprised when I saw my room. My room! And not a dark creepy forest! I think I cried in relief. Well, I did and gathered myself, pressing my knees on my chest. It was just a nightmare and I don't know when did I went home and laid on my bed. Maybe I fell asleep on Brett's car on the way to where he was going to show me and maybe he took me home. I heard knocks on the door and mom's voice asking if everything's fine. "Y-yes! Nightmare!" I said and mom stopped knocking. "You sure?" She asked. "Yep!" I said. I dive my face on my knees and calmed myself. It felt so real. I pressed my hand on my chest and I can still feel my heart was pounding so hard. I glanced at my clock and it was already seven fifteen in a school morning. I groaned because I need to prepare for school and Bryan will be waiting for me outside since he always gave me a ride to school. I got up from my bed and I breathed out because my legs felt like shaking. I was undressing when I saw a bruise on my stomach and I don't know how did I get that. I went shower for a few minutes and dressed. I was looking for the sneakers that I wore yesterday but it wasn't in its usual place. I found it below the bed and I saw something that made my eyes widen. I grabbed the right pair and there was a dry leaf stuck on it's sole. My hand let go of the shoe as if I was burned and I remembered falling on my stomach when I ran, trying to get away from the wolf. And my shoes. The dry leaves. "It was real." I muttered and I felt confused. It was so impossible. I grab another pair of sneakers and wore it as fast as I can. I ran down the stair and Aaron was calling me for breakfast. "I'm fine." I said. "My friend's waiting outside." I dashed out of the house and looked at the time. Bryan should be there already but he wasn't. I don't know what to believe. I don't even know if it was just my imagination or it was already the real thing. And I need to know the truth from Bryan because I know he knew and there's a possibility that he's. . . he's also a werewolf! I would really freak out if he is. I was already standing, waiting for Bryan until mom, Aaron and Tomaz went out of the house. "Where's your friend?" Mom asked. "I don't know. Maybe he forgot to tell me that he can't go to school today." I said. "You think you can give me a ride to school too, Aaron?" I said and Aaron nodded. "Sure thing, Chad." I went inside his car. Mom was driving her car with Tomaz so it was only the two of us there. It was awkward until Aaron turned the radio on making me feel relieved. I can't talk that time because my head was filled with things that didn't make any sense. "Thanks, Aaron." I said before I went out of the car when we arrived. "You're welcome. Have a nice day." He said. "You too." I said and ran to the building, pushing the glass door and went to Bryan's first class. I saw his friends and they smiled at me. "Did you see Bryan?" I asked Joshua, one of Bryan's friend. "Nope." He said. "Maybe he hasn't arrived yet." He said and I nodded. He tapped my shoulder before he went inside their room. I dialed his number but it always says unattended or try again later. It was odd because Bryan was never late and he doesn't have a record for tardiness. He's always present and on time. The bell rung and Bryan weren't still there. Classes were already starting and I had an idea where to go. I ride a cab to Brett's university and my heart was beating so fast. I must be crazy for going there without informing Brett. I don't know why I was acting like that but I wanted to know if it was really true. Because I was going crazy. I don't know what to do when I arrived at the university. I don't even know someone there, except for Brett. I was standing outside for minutes and my eyes lighten when I saw a familiar face. It was one of the girls that I saw on the pool when I first saw Brett and it seems that she also recognized me. "Hey!" She called and walked towards me. "You're Bryan's boyfriend." She said and I nodded. "What are you doing here?" "Brett." I said and she held my hand and dragged me inside the campus. They were all looking at me because I stood out. They were all wearing a uniform and I was only in my ordinary clothes. "Don't mind them." She said and smiled at me. "I'm Katherine." She said. "Chad." I said and she chuckled. "I know." She said and I nodded. That school was huge and when we arrive at Brett's first class, Katherine called some of the students inside the room and asked for Brett. Brett wasn't there was what they said and I felt worried for no reason. They're gone. I dialed Bryan's number again and it was already turned off. Katherine also tried to contact Brett but she wasn't able to reach him. Does it something to do about the wolf thing?
