The next morning, I put on a black and white crop top, fitted jeans, and sneakers and put my hair in a long ponytail.
Marina is going to show me around town today. On Saturdays and Sundays, some students go to see their families like Luke and the twins.
"So, do we walk there?" I ask while walking down the front stairs.
"What? No, I have grandpas car." She says.
She starts to walk to the parking lot but a nice dark red mustang stops in front of us. Marina and I look at each other confused. The dark tainted windows slide down and we see a smiling Luke driving with Parker on the passenger seat.
"Your carriage my ladies has arrived.'' Parker says getting out.
"I thought you guys had to visit your families?" I ask them.
Luke smiles. "We live near here so we'll head there later."
"Awesome!" Marina says. She and Parker sit in the back seat and I sit in the front with Luke. Luke adjusts his mirror and gives Parker a pointed look.
"I swear I will throw you both out of the car if you do too much back there." We laugh and Luke starts driving.
"So, where to first?" Luke asks.
"We were going to go have breakfast at Willow's Diner." Marina says.
"Willow's Diner it is." He drives and within five minutes, we are there.
"This is really a small town. But It's still so cute." I say.
"Yep, but one thing I didn't warn you about is the looks that we are going to get. Because we are from the Waver Academy, we are automatically labeled as weird." Marina says.
And she wasn't joking, the minute we step inside people start to look at us and whisper. We ignore them and sit at a booth with Luke sitting next to me and Parker with Marina. We order and start talking. I look at another table near us that is filled with guys and girls and they have letterman jackets from another school.
"There's another high school around here, right?" I ask.
"Yea Langston High." Parker says.
The guys from that table look our way and one of them smiles at me and I smile back, I mean why not. Luke immediately gets close and puts his arm around my shoulders holding me close to him, I look up at him surprised.
"Are you guys a thing?" Marina asks looking at us confused.
"No." I say taking his arm off of me.
"We're just friends." I say.
Luke looks away annoyed and parker holds a laugh. Well, Parker tries to hold a laugh but he can't.
"Friend zoned! Hahaha!"
Luke squints his eyes at him and Parker stops but Marina has her hand on her mouth trying not to laugh too.
After a few minutes, our food arrives. We eat and when we are about to pay, a few waitresses come by with a cupcake and a birthday candle on it. Luke looks at Parker and he goes red.
"You fucker." Luke says to him.
Parker laughs uncontrollably. The waitresses start singing happy birthday to Luke and he looks furious while everyone else around the diner looks at us. Once they finish, Luke takes the candle out and puts the chocolate cupcake on my plate.
"You can have it." He says smiling and looks at Parker again squinting his eyes at him.
Parker finally takes a deep breath after laughing so much. "It's Luke's birthday tomorrow and what better way to celebrate it than with two beautiful girls and his best buddy."
"Yea I think I like your brother better." Luke mumbles. Parker acts like he's hurt and Marina and I giggle.
"Okay okay, let's go." Luke gets up and we follow him.
We walk around town with them showing me and telling me about the places around. It's a small town but it has a few things like a theater, bowling alley, there's also a small outlet mall at the edge of town, a few nice restaurants and a nice big park near the town square but mostly there are lakes and cabin areas.
After we walk for a while and eat some shaved ice in the park, the boys drop us off. We spend the rest of the evening watching pretty little liars on my laptop and talking about the guys and how cute it was for them to surprise us today.
The next day is Sunday and I feel bored already. Marina is spending some time with her grandpa. I go downstairs to get a snack, there aren't a lot of students around but I see Holly and she waves at me. I grab a tray and some food and walk over to her.
"Hey, did you go see your family?" I ask her while I sit in front of her.
"Yea, it got boring pretty fast. As usual, all they do is fight, so I came back early." She says looking annoyed. "They are human so they always argue about me. My mom is scared of me while my dad always defends me. They always end up arguing."
"Oh. must be hard for you all." I say.
She nods.
"So what's on the lunch menu today?" I ask.
"O negative." I look at her. "But for you, I think there's a turkey sandwich." I squint my eyes at her and she laughs.
A tall pale blond guy with blue eyes sits next to Holly. She looks startled but relaxes when she sees him.
"Abel, you scared me." She says looking down.
He smiles. "Sorry."
Wait, that's the guy she was talking to at the party, I think that's the guy she likes, he looks like a vampire too and is very good-looking.
He looks at me and smiles. "Hi, I'm Abel."
I smile back at him. "Nice to meet you, Victoria." He nods.
"So things weren't good at home this weekend?" He asks Holly.
She shakes her head while she drinks her bag of blood. He chuckles and takes his thumb and swipes it on the corner of her mouth, cleaning a drop of blood. She turns red as a tomato and looks the other way.
"You want to go watch a movie later?" He asks her.
"Oh sure, you want to come Vic?" She asks looking at me, oblivious.
("What? He's asking her out obviously and sh- Wait, does she not know he likes her back?")
I look at Abel and then at her. "No, I'm good, you too go." I say smiling.
"Okay." She says.
Isaac walks in and when he sees me, he stares daggers at me. I roll my eyes. He sits at the table next to us and gives me a smirk. "What? Your family dislikes you that much that they don't want to see you on the weekends?" He asks.
("He is such an ass.")
I get up from my chair, not looking at him and picking up my tray.
"Yeah sure, if I had a family maybe that's how it would be, but even that would be better than not having a family at all." I say walking away.
That really shut him up because he didn't say a thing. I head upstairs and Marina is there. For the rest of the day, we continue with our binge-watching. Once it's morning, it's time to get ready for classes again.
I put my uniform on and brush my hair leaving it down. Marina gets ready too, her face looks good now, no signs of any bruise anymore. We head downstairs and go get breakfast. I sit yawning, we fell asleep late yesterday and now we are both tired. We eat for a few minutes and finally feel a little bit more awake.
''So, you and Parker are just friends with benefits then?" I ask her.
She smiles. "Yep, he is my flavor of the month."
I open my eyes wide at what she just said and then start laughing.
"Well, your flavor of the month is here." I say pointing to the boys who are walking through the door.
I get up and put my tray in the dirty pile and come back to the table. When I get there, Parker sits next to Marina and when I look at Luke and he looks at me, his eyes go wide and they turn black, and then he growls.
"MINE!"
Everyone looks in our direction.
I look at Marina and she looks at me shocked. With a speed that I have never seen before, Luke runs to me and pushes me against a column.
("What the hell?)
I try to shove him off but he won't budge. His fangs come out and that's when I panic.
"LUKE!!" I yell but he doesn't listen.
"GET OFF ME!!" He's about to bite my neck but Nolan and Parker pull him away. They are really struggling because he is pulling and fighting them the whole time.
Marina runs to me. "Holy CRAP!! You need to run, run to our room right now!"
She grabs my hand and pulls me, running back upstairs. We close the door behind us and she locks it.
"That should hold. These doors are made to withstand a werewolf." She says.
"What the hell is going on?!" I say panicking.
Before she can reply, we hear violent scratching on the door and ferocious growling.
"His wolf took control and he wants to mark you." She says also panicking.
".... Mark me?... But WHY!!" I yell almost crying.
"Because you're his mate!" She yells back.
"WHAT! NO!!" The door keeps rattling and we can hear Nolan and Parker talking but we can't make out what they are saying. Marina's phone rings and she quickly picks it up.
"PARKER!" She yells panicking. She puts him on speaker.
"Okay listen, just hold on a bit longer, the teacher will be here soon and they'll make him sleep with a spell."
"OKAY!" We both yell.
We huddled against each other on the bed with pillows as shields. The noise continues for another five minutes and then slowly, it stops. We wait for a few seconds and then someone knocks on the door.
"Girls, are you ok?" We hear the headmaster ask.
"Yes, is it safe to come out?" Marina asks.
"Yes."
We slowly open the door and we see the headmaster, my spell teacher, Nolan, Parker, and Luke on the floor asleep in full wolf form. He is huge with black fur.
We look at the back of the door and it's almost destroyed, another minute and he would have been able to get in.
I look at everyone dazed and in shock. The hall is filled with students looking at us.
"Everyone back to class." The teacher says to the students.
"Boys, take Luke to the infirmary. He'll be knocked out for another half hour."
"Both of you will be excused from your morning classes so you can calm yourselves and someone will be coming by in a few minutes to fix your door." The headmaster says. We both nod still in shock about everything that just happened.
"Miss Victoria, if you have any question about all of this, you can talk to your Super-natural's teacher Mrs. Adams." I nod.
Everyone leaves and Marina and I go back to our room. We are quiet and after a few minutes, someone knocks on our door making me jump and Mariana scream. We are still jumpy.
"Who is it?" I ask.
"Parker." I open the door for him and he walks in. "Hey, you guys okay?"
"Physically? Yes, mentally? No." Marina says.
He sighs. "Sorry, this also caught us by surprise."
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"No one in our pack has been mated to any other kind other than werewolves.
("Oh of course... Just my luck!")
