Here We Go

Ben Carter is dead. He's dead. Gone. That's all I could think of. Ames told me what happened when I passed out. Eris escaped with the staff, Enyo got trapped in the cage and sent off the ship, Campbells gone, and Ben....is dead. This is all my fault I should've been there. I should've been strong enough. Why did I pass out? I should have gotten to him. I should've saved him. He's gone.

After hearing the news of what happened Ames also told me that Jake is back on our side now and no longer under Eris’s mind control. I decided to go visit him since he always knew what to say to make me stop thinking of the bad. I could be wallowing in self-pity and hating myself but that's not going to help anyone. I have to keep moving forward even if I don't want to.

I knocked on Jake’s door and then opened it to see him and Alexandra sitting on the bed talking. "Hey." I said trying to smile but failing. "Hey." Lexi said. "Wow. You look worse than me." Jake said. "Just saved the ship and everyone on it after getting in a fight with the Giant. You know, normal stuff." I said. " I think being brainwashed by a psycho Goddess tops that." Jake said. "No I'm pretty sure your both tied. Why do you always have to compete?" Lexi said.

Jake and I looked at each other before looking at Lexi. "Because I'm better." We said at the same time. Alexandra rolled her eyes at us but smiled. Jake got up to go into the bathroom and I sat down beside Lexi. "How are you feeling?" She asked me. "You know. I'll be okay." I said shrugging. That's when James came into the room looking at us seriously.

"Time to go." He said. "Go where?" Alexandra asked. "I'll tell you on the way. Can you fly one of those jets?" James asked. Jake came out of the bathroom wiping of his hands and James looks over to him. "I can." He said. James looks over at us for conformation and I nod my head at him to trust Jake. "You got a suit?" James asked. "Yeah." Jake said. "Then suit up and meet us outside." james said before leaving the room.

"Hey Bailey! Your old Iron Arm uniform is in your room." Lexi said. "Thanks." I said smiling at her and then I walked out of the room to go to my own. Just like Lexi said there was my old uniform that Iron Arm created specifically for me and my powers. Let's hope we don't die today.

Marcus apparently went ahead of us and Alexandra, Jake, James and I all went to get on one of the jets. An Iron Arm agent stepped in front of us blocking us. "You are not authorized to be here." He said. "Son. Just get out of the way" James said. I looked at him sideways and smirked but tried to keep a straight face. The guy winded up letting us pass and we headed off. "You're a wonderful old man James. And you look great what's your secret?" I said trying to lighten the mood. "Ice." He said smiling at me.

Apparently Marcus and James figured out that Eris wants to do a grand show to start taking over the Earth and where better to do it than at Marcus’s tower in the middle of New York. "You got a plan?" I asked James. "We're gonna have to see when we get there." James said. "Alright you’re the captain, captain." I said to him smiling. "I'm gonna go on ahead to the towers since now I'm updated." I said.

Lexi lowered the back for me. "Hey. Be careful out there." James said. "I'll try." I said smiling at him before jumping out and using the wind to carry me past the jet. I waved at Jake in the drivers seat to tease him before I sped up and headed for New York.

By the time I got into the city and headed for Bolton tower a giant beam of light shot up in the sky from the tower. I looked in the sky to see a giant hole opening up and thousands of...aliens. Alien soldiers flying through. "Right alien army. Okay. Here we go." I said.
