We followed the map we got from the Headmaster, and it turned out Jake's room is on the third floor and mine is on the fourth. Number 426. So we separated on the stairs and each went his own way. It's a shame that we can't choose who we will live with. Instead they are accommodating us by ranks. Alpha with Alpha, Beta with Beta and so on and so on.
I stopped in front of the door and spotted scratches in the corner of the doorframe.
'ES X2'
It was engraved in the wood. It looked like it was made with a knife or a claw maybe. I started thinking what it could mean, when it finally hit me. Those were the initials. ES like Eric Stevens, and times two for Eagle Springer perhaps.
Dear Goddess, if I got the room after Stevens I should better get a fresh mattress. I heard the stories about this dude, and I think I might catch an STD from sleeping in the same bed even two years after he left.
But thinking about him brought me a bit of relief. Cause at first my family hated his guts, but things have changed. In the end they became friends. Well, maybe not in the traditional meaning of it, but the guy turned out alright. It gave me a peace of mind about my current situation.
No matter how f****d up the jungle boy would be, I'm sure we could find a common ground somehow.
I opened the doors with my key and stepped inside. Right away I heard a low growling coming somewhere from the living room. I momentarily dropped my bag and got into my fighting stance. I took a look around and indeed noticed a gigantic black wolf with piercing emerald green eyes lying on the couch and watching me like a prey. This wolf was bigger than any I've ever seen before. And I was an Alpha for f**k's sake!
"Hey Man, I'm Victor Cargarough, your roommate." - I said calmly to the animal, stretching my arms forward in a reassuring gesture.
"Aa Si! Victor, my friend. Welcome!" - said a guy standing in the doorway to the bathroom who I haven't noticed before. He had a strong Spanish accent and every word he said sounded like a melody when he spoke.
He didn't look anything like I pictured him from the Headmaster's words. He had well-styled black hair, an olive skin, and the same green eyes as a wolf lying on a couch. He was similar in height to me, around 6,3 ft, but he looked much slimmer. Not that I was a jock, but I has proud with my well sculpted muscles. But the thing that surprised me the most were his clothes. I was expecting animal skins and loincloths, but instead he was wearing a light grey suit which looked tailor-made and white shirt with two upper buttons undone. More like a businessman than a wild wolf.
He came over to me with a movie star grin plastered to his face. But even though he was smiling my instinct told me to be cautious around him. He stretched his hand for me and we shook hands.
"I'm Rafael Emilio Aguilar of the El Caura Manada."
"Victor Cargarough from Crescent Moon Pack."
"I know. And I know everything about your family, you have many powerful allies." - he admitted, deepening his grin, which I didn't know was even possible. Something about his smile made me feel very unsecured.
"And who's this?" - I asked, pointing to the wolf.
"Aa that's my sister. Lena, change and say hello." - he ordered. And the moment he said those words black wolf started morphing back to the young beautiful and very naked girl. She was lying on her stomach covering her breasts but I had a great view of her round ass and long legs.
She, just like her brother, had wavy black hair but hers cascaded down all the way to her waist. Her skin was tan and flawless and those eyes… wow. This girl was absolutely gorgeous. Whoever gets her as his Mate will hit the jackpot.
"Hola Gringo, I'm Lena Tabitha Aguilar." - she said in the most seductive voice I've ever heard with a similar accent to the one her brother has.
I smiled at her, but the moment I did her brother released a growl.
"My friend, stop eyeing my twin." - he said in a low threatening tone. I looked at him taken aback. What the f**k was his problem?! After all it was her, who was lying naked on my couch.
"If you don't want people to look at her maybe we should have a 'No naked sisters' rule." - I suggested, and to my surprise Rafael started laughing wholeheartedly. Dear Goddess, that guy was bipolar!
"You're funny, Victor. I like you!" - he said still chuckling - "Cover yourself Lena." - he said to his sister, and she stood up and without any shame went to his bedroom for some clothes I suppose.
OK, now I get what the Headmaster meant by showing them our ways. They were one strage family, and here I thought the Cargaroughs were weird.
"So I suppose that room is mine?" - I asked, pointing to the third door. He followed my hand gesture and nodded.
"Si, sorry for not waiting for you to choose, but I started losing hope you will join us."
"That's alright. I was late because I caught a flat in my car."
"In your car?! You didn't run here?" - he asked, clearly surprised. His accent made it hard to focus on his question, so it took me a while to answer him back. I think I will have to get used to the way he is speaking.
"Yeah, I drove here. Why, did you run?" - I joked, but it turned out the joke was on me.
"Si" - he admitted.
"Wait, where exactly is El Caura Pack?" - I never heard about it before. But as the Headmaster told me they just joined the Pack's Council, so before they were considered more like the nomads than a Pack, so there is no surprise in my lack of knowledge.
"Venezuela."
My eyes grew wide.
"So the two of you ran here all the way from Venezuela?"
He nodded.
Wow, they are indeed different from the wolves I knew before. They ran the continent just to get to school. That's… strange. But the differences between us are understandable.
" OK, we'll catch up later. Now I need to unpack and hit the shower before dinner." - I said gathering my bags from the floor where I dropped them.
"Of course, of course. I won't keep you waiting." - he turned around and entered the room where Lena previously disappeared.
What did I get myself into?
