A L E X A N D E R
The crunching of the snow under our boots sounds through the frozen forest.
The cold never bothered us before... but there is something in the air that is so chilling, it made us uncomfortable.
There is something wrong, I know it in my gut and so does everyone else...
Once Mackenzie had taken off with Sareia and we had no idea where they were going, we had to call in Cordelia to see if she could help us track down their location and since she has proven to be a great help to us in the past, she was the perfect person for the job. Not just her, but Evanox and Annabelle as well. Word has gotten out about the Blue Light Crescent Pack being a large group of Werewolves, so they came back to help ensure our safety.
“Don’t you think it was rather dangerous of you to leave your Pack unprotected? Aron has exposed you to the world so I’m pretty sure you will be paid a visit soon from a few of his supporters.” Cordelia says as she waves her hand in the air, letting the frozen leaves in front of her move aside and making a way for us to pass.
“They are not unprotected. We’ve left the Head Pack Guard and the Second Head Pack Warrior in charge. We’ve also added more Wolves to the border to make sure that if there is an attack, they will able to hold them off just before reinforcements from the Packhouse arrive.” I answer as my boots dig through the deep snow as I cling onto the briefcase at my side, making sure not to drop it otherwise its contents will surely break.
“My Vampires and Hybrids are also there to help, in case anything is to happen in our absence,” Evanox speaks up as well as he walks beside Anna who has a look of worry on her face, fearing for her niece.
“Do you think she managed to... you know... finish the job? Or maybe Aron got to her before she could...” My Mate lets out worriedly next to me as glances at me.
“I don’t know. I just hope that they’re okay...” I tell her honestly. Mackenzie has become more powerful in the past 6 months, honing her Lycan abilities to their full extent. She trained nonstop every single day in preparation for her much-anticipated battle with Aron. No doubt if she has managed to get to him, then he is dead already. But on the other hand, Aron is known for being incredibly crafty and unpredictable. The man is more powerful than we think and who knows the number of tricks he has up his sleeve.
“Are you sure it’s this way, Cordelia?” I ask as we move through the woods carefully, trudging through the deep snow.
“My spells aren’t known for being inaccurate,” Cordelia says as she glances back at me and we approach a more open area.
“Gamma... do you smell that...?” Cas questions beside me as she sniffs the air subtly, causing the rest of them to do the same.
“Blood.” I let out and frown, glancing down at Denise worriedly as we begin to hurry our footsteps.
“Not just that, but I think I’m starting to pick Mackenzie and Sareia’s scents as well,” Ambrose says as he hurries ahead of me. Aside from the Hybrids Evanox and Annabelle, I decided to bring 3 of the strongest Lycans in my Pack along to help, after Mackenzie of course. Ever since their awakenings as Lycans, Mackenzie took them under her wing and taught them how to control their newfound rage and powers. People were intimidated by them, yes, but at the end of the day they put their Pack first and always protected it; that’s what matters.
“We’re getting close,” Cordelia says as she too hurries forward. We continue through the frozen woods until we reach an open area where the trees have been cleared out and all that’s visible is the bed of snow laying on the ground. But that’s not it...
There are 2 bodies laying on the ground, one has its head torn off and another is facing away from us, a puddle of frozen blood laying around it with a black jacket covering their face. based on the attire they are wearing and the brown skin of their legs you can tell that it's...
“Sareia?” Cordelia lets out as she and Evanox rush forward. Evanox immediately falls to the ground and stares down at his friend in shock, his hands reaching for the jacket and taking it off her body to find her eyes are closed, her dark skin turning blue... completely lifeless. Evanox begins to breath heavily as he reaches for her face to touch her skin but pulls back once he feels how frozen she had become.
“No...” Evanox lets out quietly and shakes his head just as I walk up behind him and look down at Sareia in shock.
“How did this happen?” I ask as I glance at Cordelia who is standing behind Evanox, her hand over her mouth as she cries quietly.
“Someone tore her heart out from behind...” Evanox forces out, anger consuming his voice as he begins to breathe heavily, Anna immediately coming over to his side and placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.
“Who did this to her?” Denise asks, removing her hand from over her mouth to speak.
“Gamma...” I hear Ambrose call, making me turn around to face the 3 of them as they stand over the other body, Berry reaching down and picking up the severed head.
“I think you might know who this is...” Berry lets out slowly and stares at the head in disgust, walking forward as he slowly turns the head to face me.
“Is that...” Denise begins to say as she too stares at the head in shock…
