Upon ending the call abruptly, Adira's sudden behavior left Zara in disbelief as she looked down at her phone.
"What's with Adira?" Zara thinks.
Adira had always shown obedience and respect towards her, and had never hung up on her before. The uncanny incident surprised Zara, who wondered if something had happened to Adira to prompt such an act.
"Did something happen to her?” Zara wonders if something happens to Adira to make her hang up.
She couldn't imagine Adira hanging up on her for no good reason. Nevertheless, she anticipated Adira's call back as promised.
Since Adira was now aware of her past life, and how Zara and Hawley planned to take over her inheritance and kill her in the process. She believed that Zara could not have acquired the transfer document without Hawley's assistance, which left her disappointed in her own gullibility.
“I must have really be stupid for trusting the two of them so much” Adira regretted trusting her fiance and sister too much and relying on them for her own affairs. She was convinced that accepting Hawley as her personal assistant was the worst decision of her past life.
"Now that I already know about Zara and Hawley, what do I do?” Adira start to think of how not to be trapped by Zara is in this life again.
Adira's revulsion was evident as she pondered on what to do since Zara is trying to bring Hawley back into her life in this life again. If history was destined to repeat itself, Adira understood that she needed a strategic plan to avoid falling for Zara's calculated schemes. She knew that it would not be an easy task, as Zara was known to be tactical.
However, Adira was resolute in her decision not to allow history to repeat itself. She was determined to exact revenge on Zara and Hawley if given the opportunity.
"Don't I say if I get a second chance, I will revenge my death and that of my parents'?" Adira sigh knowing the opportunity has come to get her revenge on Zara and Hawley in this life.
So when Zara called her back, Adira picked up with a wicked smirk, ready to start her revenge with determination.
"Hello" Zara spoke rapidly when Adira finally answered the phone.
"You said you were going to call me back, Sister." She stated, displaying her disappointment.
Even though she was unhappy about the situation, Zara kept her agitation concealed. Adira did not react as she was filled with fury. Hearing Zara's voice, Adira felt compelled to confront her about her intentions towards her, knowing that Zara had plans to take everything that belonged to her and ultimately end her life.
Adira recalled Zara's confession of wanting to kill her before her untimely death in her past life. Adira was tempted to expose Zara's intentions instantly but opted to remain silent and listen to Zara's chatter.
"Sis," Zara addressed Adira when she did not respond to what she says.
"Oh! Zara," Adira replied unexpectedly.
Zara was taken aback as Adira had never called her by her name before. She was astounded by the unexpected reply from Adira.
"Did I hear that correctly?" Zara questioned and squinted, trying to comprehend what she heard.
"I'm sorry I missed your call. What did you need?" Adira asked indifferently.
Adira did consider Zara her real sister in her past life. Realizing that Zara did not felt the same way even in the past life and this life, Adira decided against treating Zara like a sister again. Instead, she addressed Zara formally, unlike before. Zara was taken aback by the coldness in Adira's tone.
"What did you say before?" Adira pretend not to remember what Zara has said to her.
Zara sighed under her breath, while attempting to remain calm as she wanted something from Adira.
"Adira, you will live to regret your words," Zara simmered in displeasure, but her next words were sugary sweet.
"I know losing Mom and Dad still troubles you," Zara commented, in a sorrowful tone.
"I know that you were preoccupied with the thoughts of them that you must have forgotten what I said. But don't fret, little sister, I will always be here for you." Zara's tone brimmed with insincerity.
Adira feels really angry and disgusted hearing Zara talk as if she cares about her and her parents, in her previous life, Zara always tell her she cares about her and she believes her because she thinks Zara really cares for her and love her as her big sister which makes Adira trust more in Zara and hand over every of the company’s responsibilities to Zara, but now, Adira understands that Zara is just pretending to care for her, so Adira feels really disgusted hearing Zara talks like that.
Zara's attempt to appear concerned for Adira and her parents only leaves Adira feeling seething anger and disgust. In their past life, Zara had feigned care and Adira had believed her, trusting her older sister with the responsibility of the family's company. However, now Adira realizes that Zara had always been disingenuous, leading her to feel repulsed by her sister's hollow words.
Upon the knowledge of Zara's proposal to bring Hawley on board as her personal assistant in this life again, Adira interjects.
"What do you want to tell me, Zara?" she asks, cutting Zara off.
"I wanted to let you know that I am arranging for Hawley to come in and help you with the company workload," Zara responds with a forced smile.
Adira understands Zara's ulterior motives immediately, recognizing Hawley as a potential trap. But Adira decides to lay a trap of her own, urging Zara to bring Hawley on board.
"Keep your friends close and your enemies closer, right?" Adira declares in her mind with a malicious grin.
She makes it clear to herself that she won't be repeating her mistake of blindly trusting her sister, calling Zara out for her past deceptions. As Zara ends the call, she feels smug satisfaction, knowing that she's turned the tables on her sister.
“Zara, as much as I trusted you and place all my life on you in my previous life, do you think I will do that now again?” Adira sneered angrily.
